Letting the cat out of the bag, let us (or me specifically) say outright that Marvel Studios did it again. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is the second instalment to the MCU franchise, and we enjoyed it. In the first film, they established Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) as a mystical superhero who ultimately became the sorcerer supreme, defeating Dormammu and obtaining the Eye of Agamotto (Time Stone).&nbsp;

If you haven't already watched the first movie, you can now stream it on Disney Plus Hotstar (Malaysia). Back to the topic, the story after the first Dr Strange movie took part in other Marvel movies like Avengers Infinity War and Thor Ragnarok. The timeline of this movie took place right after Spiderman No Way Home. For you to truly understand this movie, there are 2 Marvel series that you need to watch before entering this film, which are Wandavision, and What If&hellip;&nbsp;

You may get a tiny bit lost and confused if you have not watched these two series, but If you're not concerned about that, Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a good standalone movie on its own.&nbsp; If you have already watched all the movies that were mentioned above, you&rsquo;re all set to go for this movie.

Now let's talk about my experience watching this movie. As a Marvel / MCU fan myself, I would rate this movie a solid 8/10, which is good! First of all, the compliments go all out to the actors especially Elizabeth Olsen playing Wanda in the movie, her performance was stunning and the overall script was very well written. I would go for a second round for this movie just to catch some easter eggs that were left out from my first watch.&nbsp;

The director of this movie is the one and only, Sam Raimi. He is well known for his horror movies like Grudge and The Evil Dead, the first Spiderman movie was directed by Sam Raimi as well. He did a great job inserting some horror movie elements into a superhero film, which is very refreshing for the audiences that weren&rsquo;t expecting it. It has some scenes where they include jump scare, and high pitch violin sound, which you do not usually get in superhero movies. All horrors aside, the character build-up for this movie was good as well, the screen time that each of them got was fair and we got to see enough of the character&rsquo;s scenes throughout the whole movie, almost no one was left out in the whole journey.&nbsp;
There are some down parts to this movie, although inserting horror elements into a superhero movie felt fresh for me, it might not be for everyone. There are still people around me that do not enjoy the movie as much as I did, as fans were expecting more from this movie after a major event like Spiderman No Way Home. For those that have not watched it yet, you can stop your reading here, spoilers beyond this paragraph.

In the trailer, you will see that there is this group of people that call themselves the Illuminati, and one of the members was Professor Xavier from the X-Men. Turns out that the trailer was not tricking the audiences, it is true that the Illuminati appeared and the original actor for Professor Xavier was the person they cast to play him. As much as I want to talk more about the Illuminati, and who are the actors that played them in this movie, I will just let you see the picture below. Basically, 90% of the people in the photo below are in this film.

What&rsquo;s even unbelievable was that Wanda was so strong in this movie, none of the members of the Illuminati managed to beat her. If you&rsquo;re reading, you have been warned, yes, Wanda, now known as the Scarlet Witch plays the villain in this film, bet you didn&rsquo;t see that coming. It also included cross universal traveling, therefore you will see multiple versions of Dr Strange in this movie.

One of the Illuminati members was Black Bolt, he is part of a superhero group called the Inhumans, which can also be streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar. Now Kevin Feige did exactly what he said we will do, which is tie up the Marvel tv-series and make it interrelated with the official Marvel Cinematic Universe. It upset some fans as not all of them have time to watch the series, but I guess now they will have to watch it.&nbsp;
Good Movie, Good actors, it&rsquo;ll be worth your time watching it at the cinema during the weekend. For starters, this is definitely a fun and thrilling movie for you to watch with your friends and family.&nbsp;

In a video statement released on X (formerly Twitter), Trump defended the ban by pointing to "deficiencies in vetting procedures" in the listed countries, such as weak ID verification systems, lack of criminal background checks, and high visa overstay rates.
&ldquo;We cannot have open migration from any country where we cannot safely and reliably vet and screen those who seek to enter the United States,&rdquo; he stated. Trump also referenced a recent violent incident in Boulder, Colorado &mdash; where an Egyptian national allegedly attacked a crowd with a petrol bomb &mdash; as a justification for tightening entry requirements. Notably, Egypt is not among the countries listed in the ban.
According to the White House, the countries subjected to full restrictions were determined to present a &ldquo;very high risk&rdquo; to US national security. A January 2025 executive order directed the State Department, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to assess which nations posed &ldquo;hostile attitudes&rdquo; toward the United States.

Chad retaliated almost immediately by suspending the issuance of visas to US citizens, while officials in the Republic of the Congo condemned their inclusion as a &ldquo;misunderstanding&rdquo;. &ldquo;Congo is neither a terrorist state nor known for any terrorist affiliations,&rdquo; said government spokesperson Thierry Moungalla.
Somalia offered a more conciliatory tone. Ambassador Dahir Hassan Abdi affirmed Mogadishu&rsquo;s willingness to engage in dialogue with Washington to address security concerns.

PETROLIAM Nasional Bhd (PETRONAS) will lay off around 10% of its workforce&mdash;impacting more than 5,000 employees&mdash;as part of a major restructuring exercise aimed at navigating prolonged profit declines, shrinking margins, and volatile crude oil markets.
The move, which was first initiated in February 2025, forms part of the state-owned energy giant&rsquo;s broader cost-cutting strategy to &ldquo;rightsize&rdquo; operations and build resilience amid an increasingly challenging environment for fossil fuel producers.

PETRONAS To Slash 10% Of Workforce Amid Restructuring And Profit Slump

Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has suffered a legal setback after the High Court in Kuala Lumpur dismissed his bid to seek constitutional immunity from a civil lawsuit filed by his former research assistant. The lawsuit, which accuses Anwar of sexual assault in 2018, is now set to proceed to trial on 16 June.

High Court Judge Roz Mawar Rozain ruled on 4 June that Anwar&rsquo;s application to refer eight constitutional questions to the Federal Court lacked merit. She said the questions failed to meet the required legal threshold under Section 84 of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964, stating they did not involve "genuine constitutional controversy" and were neither necessary nor relevant to the current proceedings.
&ldquo;There is no express constitutional or statutory immunity accorded to a sitting prime minister for private acts committed before assuming office,&rdquo; she said. She also emphasised that constitutional guarantees of equal protection under the law mean equal treatment, not exemption.
The court ordered Anwar to pay RM20,000 in costs to the plaintiff, Muhammad Yusoff Rawther. Anwar&rsquo;s legal team has since indicated plans to appeal the decision and request a stay of the upcoming trial.
The Lawsuit and Allegations

Yusoff claims to have suffered lasting physical, psychological, and social trauma due to the incident and is seeking unspecified damages and relief.
Anwar, 77, has strongly denied the allegations, dismissing them as politically motivated attempts to discredit his leadership. He has also filed a countersuit against Yusoff. The plaintiff had previously lodged a statutory declaration and a police report in 2019, although the Attorney General&rsquo;s Chambers announced in January 2020 that it would not pursue criminal charges due to insufficient evidence.
In a statement following the High Court's ruling, Anwar maintained that his application was &ldquo;never about seeking personal immunity or escaping legal scrutiny,&rdquo; but rather about upholding the constitutional integrity of the Prime Minister&rsquo;s office. He argued that strategic litigation of this nature could disrupt governance and affect executive duties.
&ldquo;This matter concerns the integrity of our constitutional system and the need to ensure that high public office is protected from litigation that may be strategically timed, politically motivated, or institutionally disruptive,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;I remain committed to the rule of law and will continue to discharge my responsibilities without distraction or compromise.&rdquo;
Legal Arguments and Constitutional Debate

His lawyers cited several constitutional articles&mdash;Articles 5, 8, 39, 40, and 43&mdash;arguing that the nature of executive responsibilities warranted some form of immunity from private legal action. They contended that the lawsuit could impair Anwar&rsquo;s ability to serve effectively and urged that the questions raised novel legal issues deserving Federal Court scrutiny.
However, Judge Roz Mawar found the arguments speculative and irrelevant to the immediate dispute between the two parties. Yusoff&rsquo;s legal team, led by Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali, countered that this was a private law matter and not a constitutional crisis.
Speaking after the verdict, Rafique praised the court&rsquo;s ruling: &ldquo;This is an important milestone for Malaysia. It reinforces the fundamental principle that all individuals, regardless of status or position, are equal before the law.&rdquo;
A Political Legacy Marked by Legal Battles
This is far from the first time Anwar Ibrahim has faced serious legal allegations. His political career has long been overshadowed by accusations of sexual misconduct&mdash;charges he has consistently denied and labelled as orchestrated attempts to derail his reformist agenda.

In 1998, during his tenure as Deputy Prime Minister, Anwar was sacked by then-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and later convicted of corruption and sodomy. He was sentenced to nine years in prison in a trial that drew international scrutiny and widespread condemnation. The Federal Court eventually overturned the sodomy conviction in 2004, resulting in his release.

In 2008, new sodomy charges surfaced, this time brought by a former aide, Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan. Although initially acquitted in 2012, an appeals court reversed the decision in 2014, and Anwar was sentenced to five years in prison. He was released in 2018 after receiving a full royal pardon, paving the way for his political comeback.

Malaysian police have confirmed that the decomposed body found at a construction site in Bangsar is that of Jordan Michael John Johnson-Doyle, a 25-year-old British software engineer who had been reported missing since 2 June.

The discovery was made during a search operation on 4 June, at a partially completed condominium along Lorong Maarof. The search was initiated after Johnson-Doyle&rsquo;s movements were traced to the area. Over 30 officers took part in combing the site, and at approximately 5pm, a body was found face-down in a partially submerged lift shaft at one of the still-under-construction blocks.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that the body had been positively identified by Johnson-Doyle&rsquo;s uncle, based on a distinctive tattoo. A post-mortem conducted at University Malaya Medical Centre revealed that the cause of death was a chest injury sustained from a fall from height.
&ldquo;There were no signs of foul play or criminal elements at the scene,&rdquo; said Rusdi. &ldquo;The case has been classified as a sudden death.&rdquo;
The body, which was discovered with most of its clothing removed, was recovered at around 9.30pm on the day of the search and taken for forensic examination.
Last Known Movements Before Disappearance

Johnson-Doyle had been on a solo backpacking trip across Southeast Asia while working remotely for a United States-based tech company. He had arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on 17 May and was believed to be staying at Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang during his time in Kuala Lumpur.
His last known contact was on the night of 27 May, when he was seen attending a quiz night at Healy Mac&rsquo;s Irish Bar in Bangsar. He had sent a photograph from the bar to a friend, but after that, his phone went silent and his social media activity abruptly stopped. Concerned family members, unable to reach him, reported his disappearance to the authorities.
Staff at the bar confirmed his attendance that evening, but were unable to provide further details about his departure or movements afterward.
Public Urged Not to Speculate
