We&rsquo;re now in the era of eWallets and it&rsquo;s no stranger that many people do not carry cash with them anymore since most places already accept cashless transactions.
Heck, even when we go to night markets, some stalls also have eWallet scans.

One very popular eWallet app in Malaysia would be Touch &lsquo;n Go eWallet. It&rsquo;s widely used by many since the app can link credits to your own Touch &lsquo;n Go cards and also provides many offers and discounts to users.
But it seems like the app has been mysteriously removed from the Apple App Store which resulted in many to be concern as they can&rsquo;t download nor use the features of the app.&nbsp;

For those of you who know, TNG came out with a new enhance card which features a NFC top up feature recently and some are speculating that it was the reason behind why the app was removed. In the EU, it was reported that they had found Apple blocking the iPhone&rsquo;s NFC feature for other eWallets for payments as anticompetitive.
Is the app able to use NFC to reload respective TNG cards?
For short, yes, the app is allowed to be used to reload TNG cards, but the NFC feature definitely isn&rsquo;t the reason behind the removal of the app from the Apple app store. One of the few reasons is because:
1) NFC is used to reload physical cards and not make direct payments at merchants (such as the debit/credit card link)

2) Apple&rsquo;s NFC feature has been around for a while now and it&rsquo;s also used in other countries such as Hong Kong&rsquo;s Octopus card.
The NFC feature is available for iPhone 7 and above and those using the Octopus app will go through similar steps as TNG before they can register their cards in the app.
Suspicion towards GoPinjam scheme

Another thing that may of lead their suspension from the Apple app store is the recent GoPinjam feature where users can apply for personal loans offered by Touch &lsquo;n Go. Users can borrow up to RM10,000 with repayments up to 12 months and interest rates are set between 8% to 36% per annum depending on how much loan you applied for. The loan scheme is offered in partnership with CIMB Bank under their EZI-Tunai.
This could be one possibility towards violating Apple&rsquo;s App Store guidelines as well.
Under Guideline 3.2.1 (viii) of the App Store Review Guidelines requires that any app offering financial services must be submitted by the financial institution performing such services. Therefore, apps that offer loan or credit applications from multiple third-party financial institutions cannot be made available on the App Store.
Touch &lsquo;n Go Digital is partially owned by CIMB but the app could be seen entirely different from the actual CIMB Bank finance app itself which has their own set of terms and conditions before it&rsquo;s allowed to be used widely on the Apple app store.

As of now, Touch &lsquo;n Go has not release a statement on why their app was removed from the app store. Worry not though, if you already have the app installed, you can still use app&rsquo;s features. But in the case of you needing to install new apps after getting a fresh new phone, well we wish you good luck.

Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has officially announced his resignation from the Cabinet, ending his tenure as Malaysia&rsquo;s Minister of Economy. He will begin utilising the remainder of his annual leave starting immediately, which will run until 16 June.

Following Rafizi Ramli&rsquo;s resignation, Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has also tendered his resignation after failing to retain his PKR vice-presidency. The two-term Setiawangsa MP confirmed he submitted his resignation letter to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and will officially vacate his ministerial post on 4 July. He will be on leave from 29 May until the day before his departure.
In a statement, Nik Nazmi acknowledged that his role as PKR vice-president was a key factor in his Cabinet appointment. With that mandate now lost, he said it was appropriate for him to make way. He also failed to defend his position as Setiawangsa PKR chief during the party&rsquo;s divisional elections last month.

The video, uploaded by one of her feeders, Abby Razali, garnered widespread attention and led to a wave of online affection.
But that public goodwill turned into collective outrage when news broke that Kopi had been shot dead during a stray dog culling operation carried out by the Besut District Council. The shooting occurred in the early hours of 6 October 2024, reportedly around 1.30am.
According to Dr Kartini Farah Abdul Rahim, one of the plaintiffs, several residents were awakened by the sound of gunshots. Upon investigating, they observed three council officers driving around in a pick-up truck. Shortly after, Kopi was found dead from gunshot wounds. Her death, initially revealed via a post on the &ldquo;My Forever Doggo&rdquo; Instagram account, prompted widespread condemnation and demands for accountability.
Legal Grounds: Alleged Breach of Animal Welfare Law

The plaintiffs are therefore seeking a declaration from the court that the use of firearms in this case was not legally justified, and that the authorities acted beyond the bounds of the law.
Challenging Local By-Laws
Beyond the immediate question of Kopi&rsquo;s death, the case also seeks to address a broader legal conflict between federal and local regulations. The activists are challenging the legality of the Besut District Council&rsquo;s Dog Licensing By-Laws 1990, specifically Sections 9(1) and 9(2), which empower council officers to shoot licensed or unlicensed dogs if no owner can be located.
The plaintiffs argue that these by-laws are incompatible with the stricter protections afforded by the Animal Welfare Act, a federal law that supersedes local legislation. They assert that allowing council officers to indiscriminately kill strays undermines national legal standards and sets a dangerous precedent.

After years of speculation, teasing, and public demand, WhatsApp has officially launched a native app for the iPad. This long-awaited release marks a significant milestone for the Meta-owned platform, which, until now, has been conspicuously absent from the iPad&rsquo;s App Store despite being one of the world&rsquo;s most-used messaging services. These methods offered only a fraction of the full experience, lacking core features such as timely notifications, full media access, and the fluidity users have come to expect from native apps.
The pressure to develop an iPad app only intensified over the years, with user requests appearing daily on forums like Reddit and Twitter (now X). In 2022, WhatsApp head Will Cathcart publicly acknowledged the demand and expressed a strong interest in bringing the service to iPadOS. Malaysia is once again celebrating a landmark moment in badminton history as national shuttlers Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani officially become the world's top-ranked men&rsquo;s doubles pair, according to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on 27 May 2025. This milestone marks the first time a Malaysian men's doubles duo has ascended to the coveted No.1 position in nearly a decade.
A Return to the Summit After Almost a Decade
Goh and Nur, known affectionately by fans as FeiDin, now sit atop the global rankings with 91,090 points, surpassing Denmark&rsquo;s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who dropped to second place after failing to defend their title at the recently concluded Malaysia Masters. The Danes were dethroned following their semi-final loss to fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

Although Goh and Nur themselves bowed out in the quarter-finals of the same tournament after losing to another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, their consistent performances over the past year were enough to push them into the top spot. Their victory at the India Open in January 2025 was a pivotal moment, bolstering their climb after strong showings in 2024, which included titles at the Japan Open, China Open, and Arctic Open, as well as runner-up finishes at the BWF World Tour Finals and the Asian Championships.
This achievement makes Goh and Nur the first Malaysian men's doubles team to reach the world No.1 ranking since Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in March 2016. They also join a legendary group of Malaysian shuttlers who once held the same honour, including the Sidek brothers (Razif and Jalani), Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock, and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Notably, this also marks the first time any Malaysian badminton player has reached world No.1 since singles icon Lee Chong Wei last held the spot in June 2017.
Staying on Top: The Challenge Ahead

While the pair have every reason to celebrate, former world No.1 Datuk Razif Sidek offered a word of caution. Speaking to local media, Razif praised the pair's success but reminded them that staying at the top is significantly harder than reaching it.
&ldquo;Congratulations to them &ndash; this is a fantastic achievement. But they must not get complacent. When you&rsquo;re number one, everyone is watching and targeting you. The pressure will be immense,&rdquo; he said.
Razif emphasised that without consistent performance and proper preparation, the pair risks losing their hard-earned position. &ldquo;Being on top must be motivation, not a destination. They must continue to train hard and think like champions if they are to remain at the peak,&rdquo; he added.
Spotlight on the Singapore Open

The Malaysians must reach at least the final to maintain their position. Should the Danish pair win the tournament and Goh-Nur exit early, the No.1 ranking could be lost as quickly as it was earned.
That said, the Danes have semi-final points from last year&rsquo;s Singapore Open to defend, while Goh and Nur could widen their lead by as much as 4,000 points if they reach the last four and Astrup-Rasmussen fall short in the quarters.
