Shoes can be a very debatable and stylish accessory when it comes to matching it to your fit.
It&rsquo;s either you go with some plain white or black shoes, or you&rsquo;ll go all funky with a multi colour shoe to stand out from the crowd. Other than funky colours, there&rsquo;s also different designs to suit the occasion.

Over the years Adidas and Nike who are the two sporting giants have been in and out of court several times. This time around, Adidas has taken to the next level as they had filed its first federal lawsuit against Nike for allegedly infringing nine of its patents relating to smartphone apps and adjustable shoe tech.
The lawsuit pertains a number of Nike&rsquo;s digital products as Adidas claims that the Nuke Run Club, Training Club an SNKRS app infringe its patents related to features like audio feedback during workouts, GPS tracking, integration with third party-accessories as well as the ability to reserve yourself a limited-edition sneaker.
It&rsquo;s argued that many of these features are a basic fitness feature within most apps, but this is not the first time Adidas is going to court over this. Back in 2014, Adidas sued Under Armour over their &lsquo;Map My Fitness&rsquo; app. The two companies had settled the battle with Under Armour agreeing to pay Adidas a licensing fee.

Back in 2015, Adidas introduced their &lsquo;Confirmed App&rsquo; which was catered for their customers to have access to exclusive releases. Soon after, Nike&rsquo;s SNKRS app was launched and had the same features in it.
Meanwhile, Adidas also had an automatically adjustable sneaker called the Adidas_1 which featured a motor inside to adjust the stiffness of the heel of the show in real time.

Nike later released their Adapt sneakers which featured a few key technology features such as the self-lacing show from Back To The Future.

Although similar, the two shoes purpose was totally different as the Adidas_1 was meant to be an all-in-one shoe for runners. Meanwhile Nike&rsquo;s various versions of their Adapt sneakers were focused mainly on accessibility and comfort.
Adidas is currently seeking damages from Nike as well as a court order to prevent Nike form directly or indirectly infringing one more of their patents.
If Adidas where to win, it could mean a far-reaching impact on fitness tracking apps as various apps have similar features.
