Ye or better known as Kanye West (yes he legally changed his name to Ye) is no stranger to controversy. But despite controversy, he&rsquo;s also an icon not only in the music scene but the fashion scene too.

Well today, we are looking at his current controversy with Adidas as he&rsquo;s really gotten pissed at them. Sneakerheads would know his famous shoes the Adidas Yeezy&rsquo;s which had took the market by storm having collectors&rsquo; copping for his shoes every time a new collection is revealed.

Due to the popularity of the shoe, Adidas had created a holiday for it called Yeezy Day and it&rsquo;s celebrated annually on Aug 2. But what got this controversy sparking is that Kanye claims that Adidas had never got his approval for this year&rsquo;s event and he had also talked about other several issues he&rsquo;s been facing with the brand.

In a direct message to Complex&rsquo;s Instagram account, Kanye had shared that his disapproval of Yeezy Day by stating that &ldquo;Adidas made up the Yeezy day idea without my approval&rdquo;.
It didn&rsquo;t end there though, he also explains that Adidas had re-issued older Adidas Yeezy styles, designed Yeezy colourways as well as hiring employees for the line-including the general manager of Yeezy without his approval.

As Kanye is a big name in the industry, he also sheds light about ongoing partnerships with Balenciaga and Gap. He says that Adidas had slowed down the production of the casual sneakers that both he and Balenciaga&rsquo;s creative director Demna Gvasalia had created for Gap despite the contract not breaking his contract with Adidas.
Not only that, the 45-year-old had also gone on stating that when he ordered Adidas to make more Yeezy slides, the GM of the company claimed they didn&rsquo;t have the capacity and they were in fact copying his slides and producing their own rip-off version of the Yeezy slides.

Fun fact, apparently at least 68% of Adidas online sales all revolve around the Yeezy collection.
Is it time for Kanye to drop Adidas?

By the looks of it, perhaps its time for a talk as his contract has been signed till 2026. The brand and Kanye first collabed in 2015 with the release of the &lsquo;Boost 750&rsquo; and had later dominated the hype market.
In 2020 alone, despite the Covid-19 pandemic hitting, his sneakers had reportedly made nearly $1.7 billion in annual revenue.
To end it off, Kanye ended his conversation with Complex stating &ldquo;God step in&rdquo; which is a sign saying he&rsquo;ll need a miracle to pull this off.
Boy oh boy, looks like Adidas really has some explaining to do. Hopefully Kanye will get this sorted soon enough cause if Adidas loses Kanye&rsquo;s Yeezy line, it&rsquo;s going to be a hard hit to them and they&rsquo;ll likely lose their market positioning.

However, the 70-year-old remains behind bars, serving a six-year sentence for a separate SRC-related conviction involving RM42 million.

The judge ruled in favour of a DNAA, agreeing with the defence that it would be unjust for Najib to continue facing charges indefinitely without trial. Noting the prosecution&rsquo;s repeated delays and inability to proceed&mdash;despite six years having passed&mdash;Justice Muniandy said there was no sign the case could move forward within a reasonable time frame.
&ldquo;The prolonged wait has become a long haul for the accused, denying him timely resolution,&rdquo; the judge said. He emphasised that criminal charges should not hang over an accused like &ldquo;the sword of Damocles.&rdquo;
A DNAA means Najib is released from the charges, but not acquitted&mdash;should fresh evidence emerge, the prosecution may reopen the case.
