But why RM1? Despite inflation, the seller says as long as his customers are happy, he’s happy as well.

Everyone knows that inflation is real. Due to it, we’ve seen the increase in prices of many of our essential items and it’s starting to affect all of us regardless of our income level.

Even food and beverages are getting more expensive due to traders increasing their selling price of raw materials. In fact, we tend to pay more for a drink than our food these days too *cough* Starbucks Coffee *cough*.

But recently, a trader known as Bangsudu has been catching traction online as he sells nasi lemak at RM1!

His nasi lemak is so good that others even asked him to increase the price but he refuses to.

Why sell the nasi lemak at RM1?

In a twitter thread by @FazrieHaiqal_ (Bangsudu) explained that his main purpose of selling the nasi lemak at RM1 is to ease the burden of others as we are in a time where breakfast alone can cost RM10, not everyone is able to afford it right?”

Aside from that, he had also felt sorry for school students where their food at the canteen can be expensive. “With this RM1 nasi lemak, at least I know they will be full.”

Bangsudu did say in terms of profit, it’s not too much. “As a vendor, as long as I’m happy and enjoy what I do, it’s enough. If they’re happy, so am I”.

He highlights that the main challenge of selling the nasi lemak is to ensure that the stock is enough for everyone as sometimes customers are left disappointed to not get one after queueing for a long time. Its also estimated that his 600 packs of nasi lemak can sell out in just 30 minutes.

Many praise him for selling it at RM1

Despite of inflation, many gave him full respect for still selling it at RM1 and the best part is that customers had praised him for the tasty nasi lemak with flavourful sambal.

Plus, on Bangsudu’s TikTok, he always shows how hardworking he is and how he interacts with his customers sharing about his struggles openly.

In fact, he’s even gained the attention of Khairul Aming who’s famous for his sambal!
