<p>If you were to mention the name Lee Chong Wei (LCW) to a Malaysian, I can bet you every Malaysian will know who he is even if they are not a fan of badminton or even sports.</p>
<p>Lee Chong Wei is dubbed as an icon as he&rsquo;s one of Malaysia&rsquo;s sporting heroes. He had dominated the international stage for Badminton for many years and even made it into the Hall of Fame with a record of 349 weeks as the top badminton player worldwide and had spent 199 weeks consecutively at the top spot.</p>
<p>Recently, the badminton legend had a wax figure made after him and it was unveiled at Madame Tussauds Singapore yesterday as it was the latest addition to the walk of fame.</p>

<p>He is now the second Malaysian to be featured in the very renowned wax museum. Previously, international film star Michelle Yeoh had became the first Malaysian to be featured in museum back in 2015.</p>

<p>We all know one thing though; Lee Chong Wei&rsquo;s signature move is his smash but why is the wax figure posing in a certain way? According to My.fm, he had chosen that pose for his wax figure as he was worried that it may be too troublesome for the creators of the wax figure to resemble it.</p>
<p>In fact, the making of his wax figure had been announced back in 2019 and he was even put through a six-hour &lsquo;sitting&rsquo; for the team at Madame Tussauds to take measurements of him. What made the figure even more special was that Lee Chong Wei had donated his official jersey from his Rio 2016 Olympics to make the figure.</p>

<p>For those who didn&rsquo;t know, Madame Tussauds is a wax museum that was founded in 1835 by French wax sculptor Marie Tussaud. It was first opened up in London as a tourist attraction before opening up in major cities worldwide such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and more.</p>
<p>The museum typically features many famous and historical wax works from popular film and television characters. Sometimes, even pranks are done by celebrities at the museum itself.</p>

<p>From Lee Chong Wei&rsquo;s post on Instagram, he had thanked the team at Madame Tussauds for creating the realistic wax figure of him and he was extremely honoured to be the first Malaysian athlete to be featured at Madame Tussauds&rsquo; halls.</p>
<p>For those who want to see the figure, it will be in displayed in Singapore for now and it will later be moved to Hong King permanently in the first quarter of 2023.</p>
