Lot of people normally attend university and always look up to their lecturers because they are who build us up towards who we are today education wise.
In China, Wei Dongyi is an assistant professor in mathematics at Peking University and he was dubbed the &ldquo;Ugliest Math Teacher&rdquo; had become a hit on social media for his extraordinary talent as a mathematician.
He was featured in an interview when he was asked to give words of encouragement to high school graduates preparing for an upcoming university entrance test. All Wei said was &ldquo;Cheer up. Welcome to Peking University. I don&rsquo;t know what else to say.

The clip of Wei went viral over the weekend and his personal information was dug up by the media to satisfy the public interest.
Funny enough, he was actually dubbed as &ldquo;God Wei&rdquo; by his peers as he was extraordinary math problem-solving abilities.

Wei has many awards under his belt too
Wei has won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad twice when he was a high school student. He even got into the OKU&rsquo;s mathematics department without sitting for the entrance exam. Meanwhile, the university mathematics course is currently ranked 19th in the QS World University Rankings.
He also won the top awards at numerous domestic and overseas maths competition which includes the S.-T. Yau College Student Mathematics Contest.
His high school teacher Zhang Yonghua said in an interview that Wei had once refused an offer from Harvard to study his PhD and would be given an interpreter as he was not required to sit for the English entrance test.&nbsp;FYI, it is agains the ruels for someone to not sit for the entrance exams, Harvard themselves broke this rule for the sake of him.

Meanwhile at his PKU campus, he is known for his simple lifestyle as he focusses on his math research. But the sad bit is some call him the &ldquo;school&rsquo;s ugliest teacher&rdquo;.

&ldquo;Among thousands of PKU students in the school, you can recognize God Wei with one look because no matter which season it is, he always carries a 1.5-litre plastic bottle and walks fast,&rdquo; said Wei&rsquo;s classmate during an interview.
Wei is known as a disciplined person. He normally sits at the canteen eating his steamed buns and tofu. Although having to win many scholarships worth over 100,000 yuan (US$ 15,655 / RM64,662), he still lives a plain life.
Despite being a math genius and living a simple life, Wei lives a frugal life. He does not use social media and does not like answering the phone as he does not socialize said his cousin Wei Jingzhou to Zhejiang Daily.
When we say simple life, we really mean simple life. Wei lives in Beijing in a home which is sparsely furnished as he likes the minimalist lifestyle. His rent is also not more than 300 yuan (US$47 / RM194) per month.
I now question on how one gets rent that is that cheap&hellip;
Wei&rsquo;s awards are practically unrecognizable by the public as he does not interact with them, and he throws most of his certificates at random spots in his home.

His mother commented that his scores in subjects such as Chinese and English are low and is just like any ordinary kid. But Chinese social media had beg to differ and had gave many praises to Wei.
&ldquo;This kind of once-in-a-generation genius immerses himself in his own world. We will never get his joy. He does not need to care about other people&rsquo;s opinion of him and does not need the so-called EQ (emotion quotient),&rdquo; wrote one person on Weibo.
Not often that you&rsquo;ll meet someone like this. Most people nowadays tend top life the life of luxury. No matter if someone is rich or poor, people are willing to die trying to look like the rich.

One major misconception Che Nom addressed is the belief that having a team lightens the load. &ldquo;That&rsquo;s only half true,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;Yes, a team helps with production, but it also adds to monthly costs.
