If we had the cash, there&rsquo;s no doubt that we&rsquo;ll splurge some cash on good food and that&rsquo;s what exactly what one customer did at Nusret G&ouml;k&ccedil;e AKA Salt Bae&rsquo;s restaurant.
If you don&rsquo;t know who&rsquo;s Salt Bae, he&rsquo;s a TikTok star who gained internet fame for how he cuts his meats and later sprinkles salt onto them.

Whopping RM766K Bill!

Of the restaurants out there, Salt Bae&rsquo;s Nusr-Et is very well known for his famous stakes. In fact, one of his steaks alone can cost up to RM10K! This is only one steak but what if you were to go over to the restaurant with family or friends to have a proper full meal there?
Well feast your eyes as Salt Bae himself had caught the attention of many on social media over someone&rsquo;s bill which was worth RM766K. He captioned his post saying &ldquo;Quality never expensive&rdquo; and this got the attention of many netizens online and not the good kind.
Netizens were fuming when they saw the price of the food at the restaurant and they were looking at it in detail to see how much the food and drinks cost. Some of the most shocking discoveries was the price of 9 Still Water had cost a whopping RM500.59 (~RM55.61 each).

Meanwhile on the food end, 5 Beef Carpaccio had cost RM1,488.22 (~RM297.64 each) and 2 gold coated steak dubbed as the Golden Ottoman had cost RM6,798 (~RM3,399 each). Even a nice sweet dish like Baklava is coated in gold at his restaurant which costs RM482 each.
On the other hand, if you noticed that there&rsquo;s two items called Petrus on the bill, that&rsquo;s actually a wine and those 7 bottles of wine alone had cost a total of RM648,692 which made up majority of the price for the bill.

Speculations Of Who&rsquo;s Bill It Was
Since this bill was posted on the same time as the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, many speculated that the bill belonged to the Formula 1 drivers who threw a farewell dinner for 4-Time World Champion Sebastian Vettel who announced his retirement back in July 2022.

But judging by the pictures posted by the drivers on their social media, the reports claiming that the bill was from the F1 drivers turned out to be fake. After a bit of digging around, the drivers had actually had their farewell dinner at Michelin-starred restaurant Hakkasan Abu Dhabi which is located at Emirates Palace which offers a private seating area and a really great view of the city right outside along the terrace.

The bill was paid by 7-Time World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton who also left a heartfelt message for Vettel despite being long-time rivals.

Salt Bae Gains The Wrong Publicity After Showing Off RM766K Restaurant Bill

A recent viral post in Malaysia took many by surprise when a customer claimed to have been billed RM10.60 for additional chilli sauce packets. Saiful Adly Abdul Wahab, who originally shared the post on Facebook, expressed astonishment at the exorbitant charge for 10 packets of chilli sauce. In truth, McDonald's customers typically receive additional sauce packets at no extra cost.

The receipt he shared online indicated a charge of RM1.06 per bag of chilli sauce, causing many other patrons to share in his outrage. Some individuals defended McDonald's by suggesting this pricing might be a cost-saving measure in the face of escalating global expenses, while others decried the situation as unfair, noting that sauce is typically provided free of charge.
As of the time of writing, Saiful Adly's Facebook post had garnered more than 1.1K reactions, over 1.7K comments, and 403 shares.

Upon discovering the situation, McDonald's Malaysia has addressed the incident that occurred at their Taman Buaya branch in Melaka. Following an internal inquiry and a review of CCTV footage, it was revealed that the customer initially received an insufficient amount of chilli sauce but was promptly provided with extra packets upon request.
However, the situation took a turn when the customer, despite being informed that the additional chilli sauce was complimentary, became verbally aggressive toward the staff. He insisted on paying for an extra 10 packets of chilli sauce. Subsequently, the incident was reported to the police as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of their employees. McDonald's emphasized that the welfare and well-being of their crew members remain their top priority.
Netizens Share Their Thoughts On The Incident 
As the post began to circulate widely on social media, numerous internet users chimed in with their opinions regarding the incident. Even former Tanjung MP Ng Wei Aik took notice, remarking that McDonald's seemed to be causing unnecessary confusion. He questioned the logic behind the POS system generating a receipt for chilli sauce, an item that is not intended for sale.

However, there were instances where some customers had less favourable experiences, such as outlets limiting sauce packets to just two per customer or even ignoring requests for extra sauce.

As someone who only occasionally orders McDonald's, I can attest that asking for tomato sauce with our meals can feel nearly impossible. Even if we leave a note requesting tomato sauce, we often receive extra packets of chilli sauce instead.
To be honest, the situation seems a bit excessive, and involving the police may not have been necessary. Hopefully, things turn out well for Saiful Adly, as he is just one of the many frustrated McDonald's customers who have had such experiences.

You can now have voice conversations with ChatGPT
Users have the liberty to use the ChatGPT app to verbally pose their questions. The AI will then provide responses in an artificial voice. For instance, you can simply request ChatGPT to tell you a bedtime story, and it will promptly generate a narrative that it will read aloud to you.

Another example is when you capture a photo of your bike and request a way to lower the seat, it will then prompt you to snap a picture of your toolbox and the available manual, or else, ChatGPT can&rsquo;t suggest the appropriate tools and instructions as the proper guide to lower your bike&rsquo;s seat. 
According to <a href="https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt-can-now-see-hear-and-speak">OpenAI</a>, the new features will be readily available in the next two weeks for Plus and Enterprise users. As such, they will have an opportunity to have voice-like conversations and image interactions with ChatGPT. 
As for other groups of users and developers, it will soon be made available when the time comes.

BamBam's journey towards stardom commenced when he clinched the title at the Thailand Rain Cover Dance Competition in 2007 and secured second place in the Thailand LG Entertainment Competition in 2010. His talent and determination shone even brighter when, at the age of 13, he successfully navigated the rigorous JYP World Tour Audition in Thailand, ultimately leading him to pack his bags and relocate to South Korea to embark on his path as a trainee.

Got7's BamBam Set To Thrill KL Fans By Performing A Local Song Of Their Choice!

Commonly, many of us would like to avoid paying taxes if given a choice. However, the act of refraining from paying taxes will lead to major consequences we never thought of. 
Recently, a notable celebrity doctor shared a few videos through his TikTok account <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@say_shazril0">@say_shazril0</a> on his unpleasant experience of dealing with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) when he was contacted back in October 2020. He shared the incident he experienced to warn and urge the public to pay their taxes responsibly, especially YouTubers, influencers, TikTokers, and any freelancers who thought they were smart enough to escape from it.

Looking back at that moment, he received a letter from LHDN and was summoned by them to come to their office due to him not paying taxes for the vast and numerous content he posted on social media. 
Previously, he thought it was a scam but when a second letter came to knock at his door, he was like &ldquo;Shit, this was real!&rdquo; 
When he arrived at the LHDN office, piles of documents were presented to him and that led him to feel shocked as to how they were able to trace all the evidence of the social media campaign he did for several brands since 2016. 
As such, you can&rsquo;t avoid your responsibility, right? 
Dr. Shazril looked so "kantoi-ed" when he knew he couldn&rsquo;t hide as a means to protect himself when the truth was revealed in front of his eyes. 
The interrogation went on for hours and he was questioned on how much he charged for each campaign as well as his earnings for both shows named Tanya Doktor and MyDoctors. With that, he disclosed everything truthfully just so it would be easier for both parties. 
According to LHDN, they investigated that Dr. Shazril owned a few assets such as a house, car, and motorcycle, and from there, they realized he earned RM160,000 annually between 2018 and 2019. 
Fortunately, the interrogation was merely a &ldquo;test&rdquo; as LHDN wanted to know if Dr. Shazril was a truthful person.

After a thorough calculation from LHDN, apparently, he only needed to pay a total of RM50,000 to them but still, he was cracking his head as to how he was able to settle his tax liabilities in a month. 
Thankfully, an LHDN officer named Raihan was polite and supportive enough to manage his case. He requested him to search for all his receipts just so he could reduce his tax liabilities. In the end, from RM50,000, he managed to reduce the enormous amount to RM40,000! Moreover, another good news came when he was allowed to pay it on a few installment basis. So to say, his hard work of searching through highs and lows was worthwhile to ease his burden at least.

It can be said that Dr. Shazril truly learned his lesson. Now, he cultivates the habit of keeping all the receipts, arranging and sorting them accordingly for his own track record just so he can prove to LHDN whenever they are in quest of him. 
In one of his videos, he said, &ldquo;Pay your taxes. This is what contributes to the economy. Don&rsquo;t be like the old me, and fulfil your responsibilities.&rdquo;

This is to say, be it young or old, paying taxes is an inevitable process that everyone has to go through and is required to commit to.

Whenever a tourist takes the opportunity to travel to a foreign country, surely they'll love to explore the food and beverages besides the scenic places that the country has to offer.
Here comes a social media personality and TikToker, Luke Damant who documented his trip around Malaysia on his TikTok account <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@lukedamantclip">@lukedamantclip.</a> There were fragments of video clips showing how much he enjoyed while venturing to Kuala Lumpur, especially a pink drink that caught his attention. The drink in question is none other than our local beverage &lsquo;Sirap Bandung&rsquo;.

Curious by it, he asked a local what the pink drink was and the local told him that it was known as &lsquo;Sirap&rsquo; which many Malaysians associate with. At the same time, he was also keen to know what the Sirap was made of. This is where the drink vendor briefed him in terms of how the drink was prepared.

Without thinking twice, he gave it a try to the four-ringgit drink because never try never know, right? 
Lo and behold, the Australian traveller came to be aware that the pinkish drink consisted of Amina Rose syrup, condensed milk, hot water as well as lots of ice cubes.

He then recalled that the drink was similar to what he had in India and it tasted exactly the same! He said, &ldquo;It tastes flowery and like cotton candy at the same time. It&rsquo;s like, got the most unique taste, ever. This is so refreshing on a hot day here in Kuala Lumpur.&rdquo;

Aussie Tourist Leaves Malaysians Surprised With RM4 Iced Bandung Order In Kuala Lumpur!

Surviving in Malaysia can be challenging, given the current economic climate. However, with determination and perseverance, we can navigate this evolving landscape and make ends meet.
While it's undeniable that the cost of living has surged while our incomes remain stagnant, leading many Malaysians into debt, some are fortunate enough to have shelter over their heads, providing protection from the elements and a sense of comfort. Unfortunately, this isn't the case for everyone.
Ill-Advised Investment Scheme Leaves Him Homeless

Ariff Luqman Peters Lisut, a 27-year-old entrepreneur who once led a luxurious life, complete with beautiful homes and imported cars. However, his fortunes took a sharp downturn when he ventured into digital currency investments, ultimately leading to him losing his home.
Ariff was a rising star in the local music industry, but due to an ill-fated investment scheme, he found himself compelled to liquidate his cattle farming business, two houses, and three cars, including an imported vehicle and a van. This was to repay clients who had suffered losses in his investment program.
He revealed that the investments alone left him drowning in massive debt, owing up to RM1 million two years ago. As a result, he made the difficult choice to live in his Proton Wira, opting not to burden himself with renting a room.
"My mistake was placing too much trust in the investment and using my success as a businessman to attract public investments," he admitted. "The initial intention was to assist the public, but I never anticipated that some participants would vanish, leaving me to handle clients seeking refunds."

Despite liquidating his assets, it proved insufficient to settle his substantial debt. Ariff embarked on a diverse array of jobs to chip away at his financial obligations, including cleaning and sanitizing homes, crafting lyrics, designing business posters, copywriting, creating various video content, and providing delivery services.
Fast forward to 2023, Ariff has managed to secure a full-time job, yet he continues to juggle multiple side gigs in order to address the remaining RM100,000 of debt. His routine involves sleeping at the office from Monday to Friday and engaging in side jobs during the evenings. On weekends, he dedicates his time to working on music at a friend's studio. Despite this relentless work ethic, he remains steadfast in his decision not to rent a house or room, as he is determined not to burden himself further with financial obligations.
Took A While To Adapt To Living In His Car
Living this way was initially a challenge for Ariff, and he admitted that the first three months were particularly tough since it was a departure from his accustomed lifestyle. However, as time passed, he grew accustomed to it and even found it bearable, as long as he could secure some rest and seek shelter from both rain and sun.

Having commenced his business journey at the tender age of 20, Ariff now leads a solitary life, though he maintains contact with his father after having lost his mother to breast cancer eight years ago. He reminisces about a time when life was considerably more favourable, but with the various challenges that have arisen, he has adopted a willingness to pursue any lawful means of income generation.
Regarding his outstanding debt, he remains diligently committed to its repayment, with 90% of his earnings being allocated toward settling it. Reflecting on a challenging phase, he acknowledges the disappearance of some individuals who were present during better times, as they stopped responding to calls.
For the time being, Ariff has chosen to temporarily reside in his car and until he&rsquo;s successfully cleared all his debts then only consider renting a place.
Using Social Media To Seek Job Opportunities
Ariff occasionally posts videos on social media, shedding light on his current circumstances and the challenges he faces in life. Regrettably, some have misinterpreted his intentions, believing he is seeking sympathy or soliciting donations. However, his primary objective is to leverage social media as a platform to explore job opportunities.
In a recent video, he shared his experience of being invited onto Hot FM, where he was given the opportunity to promote his services, aiming to contribute to the resolution of his outstanding debt.

Former Investor Lives In Car With RM1 Million Debt From Failed Investment Scheme

Many Malaysians prefer to live in Johor Bahru (JB) and cross the border to Singapore (SG) to work. This is due to the cheaper housing estate that JB offers which allows them to earn about 3.5 times more while working in Singapore. Thanks to the conversion rates of SG which motivates many Malaysians to cross the border for working purposes. 
But is it crossing the border daily worth waking up in the wee hours? 
On September 21, a Malaysian YouTuber named Chun Weng shared his first-hand experience and documented his journey from JB to SG as a means to explore the daily life of Malaysians commuting from JB to SG for work-related affairs and seek to gain insights about it.

The Start Of His Day

Starting his journey at 4.19am, he felt extremely exhausted from waking up very early since he wasn&rsquo;t used to it. He furthered on by saying that he had no soul since to him it was a heavy sacrifice that he had made for the first time. 
He then brushed his teeth and got himself ready for a Grab ride. It took him about 10 minutes to JB Central and he arrived at 5.50am which cost him RM5. As he arrived, he saw many netizens waving goodbyes to their loved ones and it was a bittersweet moment for Chun Weng to witness. 
The arduous moment came when he noticed a massive crowd who were trying to cross the border to SG. This sounds like &lsquo;Oh My God&rsquo; to him but still, he needed to go through it and there was nowhere to escape when he intended to take on the challenge. 
After thirty minutes of passing the immigration side, the clock ticked 6.30am but Chun Weng didn&rsquo;t stop there as he had to wait and queue for a bus in SG for about 20 to 30 minutes which ate up quite a lot of his time.

With much anticipation of him getting over the huge crowd, another unpleasant moment came when the bus ride that he took made him feel cramped despite it being only RM2.&nbsp;Being aware of the current situation, he decided to check OneMotoring just so he could use the platform to track the traffic along the Causeway and his prediction was true, &ldquo;it was extremely bad&rdquo;, as he said. 
A moment later, he reached the Kanji MRT in Singapore and there was no ample time for him to spare because he had to rush to catch a train to his &lsquo;workplace&rsquo; which is located in Woodlands, and the journey took him about 10 minutes costing RM1.

The clock rang at 7.45am and this is when he settled down and started his work. This is to say the entire journey from JB to SG took him nearly 3.5 hours just to work. 
Comparison Of Prices Between M&rsquo;sia &amp; S&rsquo;pore
It was 12pm and Chun Weng planned to have his lunch so he checked out the food and supermarket prices in SG.

He ordered a plate of chicken rice for $3.50 whereas for Hokkien mee was $4. Comparing the prices, he mentioned that there wasn&rsquo;t much difference at all between the prices from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. 
However, the purchasing power of the Singapore dollar is much higher as compared to Malaysia despite the pay being about the same in each country&rsquo;s own currency. 
To provide an example, he furthered on by claiming that to buy an iPhone, someone only needs to work for a fortnight in Singapore, unlike someone who works in Malaysia and needs one and a half or two months of his salary to purchase it. Malaysians, can you imagine how much of our hard-earned money we could save? It's no wonder that many Malaysians aspire to work in Singapore while also enjoying the advantages of reasonably priced housing in JB.

Chun Weng then hopped to a supermarket to compare the price difference in groceries. For example, if you compare 41 cents of egg in Singapore with 67 cents of egg in Malaysia, there wasn&rsquo;t much difference. He was astonished that the price of Maggi in Singapore was much more affordable than in Malaysia. He expressed, &ldquo;dollar to dollar, it&rsquo;s so much cheaper.&rdquo; Not only that, Starbucks and Mcdonald's also seemed to be more affordable.

He believes that this can be due to the expensive housing estate in which Singaporeans invested much where it was 10% higher as compared to the rest of the world. We know Singapore is an expensive city to live in and this is the lifelong burden that Singaporeans have to bear. 
Therefore, Chun Weng suggested that if you would like to kill two birds with one stone, it is by staying in JB and working in Singapore because you would have a cheaper housing estate as well as a higher salary. 
Interviewing A Seasoned Traveller To Gain Deeper Insights

During his trip, he had an opportunity to converse with Ash who has been a seasoned cross-border worker for eight years. She shared how the rise of the conversion rate between Singapore and Malaysia has lured many to embrace and accept the cross-border work routine. 
She added on with her statement, &ldquo;I think it makes sense, let&rsquo;s say (if you are) in Malaysia and going to Singapore to look for a job, then the salary will be like SGD 2,000 (RM6,800). The conversion rate is like 3.4x now.&rdquo;
Chun Weng really saluted and respected Ash and others who were willing to cross the border every day to Singapore. She even revealed that she woke up at 4am and had only three hours of sleep. To Chun Weng&rsquo;s notice, her lifestyle shocked him a lot. Ash told him if you do not mind the strenuous exercise, then crossing the border would be a reasonable and appropriate approach. If not, it is best to find a reasonable stay in Singapore, and that will avoid much hassle. 
The End of His Day
It was at 4.40pm and he began to prepare himself to go back home. Despite the tiredness that came earlier around 3pm, he still needs to make his way back to Malaysia.

To him, it wasn&rsquo;t a fun experience to endure as it had been taking a toll on him. He rushed to the bus and then headed to Woodlands checkpost which took him about 15 minutes. Later on, he had to scan his passport and then he had a bus ride to get to the border to in the end reach Malaysia. Overall, it was indeed an uncomfortable travelling experience for him since he had to prepare himself mentally and physically to be fit for the challenge.
