But we humans have done so much damage to our environment and now our planet is suffering the consequences of our terrible actions.
Some of the consequences include climate change, monsoon rain and thinning of the ozone layer.&nbsp;
Excessive logging has also taken place excessively and now most forests are just barren land.

But you do know by planting a tree you can save your life.&nbsp;
According to a recent study from the United States, living in a neighbourhood with lots of trees may help residents live longer.

The research suggests that this may even increase local residents' life expectancies, which would have a huge impact.
The study, which was co-led by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health and was published in the journal "Environment International," uses scholarly literature to look into the correlations between exposure to nature and a lower mortality rate.
The study is based on the efforts of Friends of Trees, a US non-governmental organisation that between 1990 and 2019 planted 49,246 trees in Portland, Oregon.
The study team looked at how many trees were planted over a period of five, ten, or fifteen years in an area with a population of roughly 4,000.
The findings indicate that mortality rates (deaths per 100,000 persons) were lower in neighbourhoods where more trees had been planted.
Their research revealed that each tree planted was linked to a considerable decrease in non-accidental and cardiovascular mortality (by 20% and 6%, respectively), especially among men and people over 65.
According to Geoffrey H Donovan of the USDA Forest Service, who is also the study's first author, "We noticed the effect both in green and less green areas, which shows that planting street trees improves both."

By providing shade and releasing water, trees are reducing city temperatures by up to 10 F.

Nitrogen and phosphorus contaminants can also be found in stormwater. Without trees, runoff enters the ocean and other bodies of water unfiltered. Rainfall is broken up by trees, allowing water to sink into the soil and enter the earth. As a result, they stop run off from damaging the ocean. Green infrastructure, such as a green roof, can mitigate the effects of stormwater in places where trees cannot.

Tree roots hold the soil together and shield it from the effects of wind, whereas trees break raindrops and reduce their strength.

However, trees assist in battling it. They take CO2 from the air and absorb it, storing it while releasing oxygen. An acre of trees can remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year as driving your car 26,000 miles. Our primary means of survival is through trees; just one tree can provide four people with enough oxygen.
In conclusion, planting has great benefits to the environment so we need continue this habit so we can save mother nature from dying.
Our planet is our responsibility and we should be responsible!

We should all take responsibility to combat climate change to protect mother nature We should not let the thinning of the ozone happen layer by layer Small steps to care for the environment can return in your favour Let us all not destroy our earth the greatest gift by our creator and lets protect our planet's peace in our prayer.
