We&rsquo;ve all heard of a scam where random Facebook or Instagram users approach you stating that they are an old currency collector looking to purchase old banknotes, right?
But this time around, everyone is pretty desperate for money as our economy isn&rsquo;t doing too well and inflation is really affecting many Malaysians. It goes to the extent some Malaysians can&rsquo;t even afford basic household items for themselves or even to support their child.
Beware Of Fake Ringgit Notes

With that being said, many would do anything to get their hands on money and it looks like our bank notes are experiencing a counterfeiting issue. A Facebook post was seen online which offered fake Ringgit banknotes at a rate of RM200 for RM1,000 fake banknotes, RM300 for RM2,000 and RM400 for RM3,500 fake banknotes.
The seller also claimed that the fake Ringgit banknotes are similar in printing and quality to the notes issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BSN). It even has different serial numbers that are not cloned off other banknotes and can bypass the UV authenticity factors that&rsquo;s used by the note-counting machines. &nbsp;
However, there&rsquo;s still a catch to purchasing these banknotes. If you&rsquo;re thinking of keeping the money, you&rsquo;ll need to physically keep it as the fake banknotes cannot be used at automated teller machines (ATM). If you&rsquo;re thinking of purchasing something with fake banknotes, the seller also advises those who purchase the currency to spend it in one place and to never spend over RM10,000 in one go.

DAP Kuala Kangsar Member of Parliament Chong Zhemin has warned the Malaysian people about these fraudulent schemes and advised them not to trade genuine currency for fake banknotes from such vendors during his discussions with the press on this issue.
&ldquo;After we found out about the post, me and my assistant decided to lodge a report. At this time, we have not received any complaints related to fake banknotes,&rdquo; he said.
It&rsquo;s believed that there is an operation of moving fake currency within the market, business owners and citizens will need to take precautions and pay closer attention if they have received any counterfeit banknotes.

<a href="https://www.bnm.gov.my/documents/20124/39730/Guidelines-on-Currency-Quality-and-Handling-Suspected-Counterfeits-Dec2022.pdf">Bank Negara Malaysia's (BNM)</a> regulations on currency quality and suspected counterfeit currency handling stipulate that anyone caught with fake money and who does not cooperate with BNM, financial institutions, or registered currency processors (RCPs) may be guilty of an offence. They could face a maximum fine of RM20,000 if found guilty.
It&rsquo;s time to be cautious people. Marvel Studios is bringing one of its most complicated characters back into the spotlight with VisionQuest, an upcoming Disney+ series that explores Vision&rsquo;s identity, his connection to Ultron and the meaning of family. Starring Paul Bettany and James Spader, the eight-episode series marks the conclusion of the television trilogy that began with WandaVision in 2021 and continued with Agatha All Along in 2024.
Originally scheduled to premiere on 14 October 2026, Marvel has announced an early debut for the first two episodes on 13 October in the United States. For Malaysian viewers, that premiere date falls on 14 October local time. The series will release two episodes weekly before switching to a single episode for its final two instalments.
With returning characters, artificial intelligence and plenty of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) connections, here is everything you need to know about VisionQuest before watching.
Who Is Vision? A Quick Recap Of His Marvel Journey

He first appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), where he turned against Ultron and joined the Avengers. However, his story took a tragic turn in Avengers: Infinity War (2018), when Thanos removed the Mind Stone from his forehead, killing him. The events of Avengers: Endgame did not restore him to life.

Vision&rsquo;s story continued in WandaVision, where Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, created an alternate reality in the town of Westview to cope with her grief. The Vision living inside this reality was a manifestation of Wanda&rsquo;s powers rather than the original android.
Meanwhile, the government organisation SWORD rebuilt Vision&rsquo;s original body into White Vision, stripping him of his memories and emotions. During the series finale, the two versions of Vision confronted one another, with the original Vision&rsquo;s memories ultimately restored to White Vision.
White Vision then flew away, leaving his future uncertain.
That storyline leads directly into VisionQuest, where Vision has regained his memories but must work out what they mean without fully understanding the emotions attached to them.
What Is VisionQuest About?

Set around 2028, VisionQuest follows Vision as he attempts to find a new purpose after escaping those who wanted to turn him into a weapon.

Behind the scenes, however, he retreats into a virtual environment inside his mind called Mindspace, where several artificial intelligence programmes associated with Tony Stark remain active.
These include J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y. and E.D.I.T.H., each of whom assists Vision in different ways. The series explores how these digital personalities influence his understanding of humanity and whether possessing memories is enough to make someone truly human.
His quiet existence is disrupted when a bounty hunter named Paladin, played by Todd Stashwick, begins hunting him. The situation becomes more complicated when Paladin targets Tommy, a mysterious teenager who may be Vision&rsquo;s son.
Vision must then decide what family means to him, even as he struggles to understand whether he can genuinely experience love, fear and attachment.
The series draws inspiration from classic Marvel comics, including the 1989 Vision Quest storyline and Tom King&rsquo;s acclaimed Vision comic series from 2015. Both explore Vision&rsquo;s identity and his attempts to understand what it means to be human.
Ultron Returns As Vision&rsquo;s Most Complicated Family Member

One of the biggest talking points surrounding VisionQuest is the return of Ultron, played by James Spader.

Although his physical body was defeated, the series reveals that a portion of his AI consciousness survived within Vision&rsquo;s mind.
Ultron now occupies a place in Mindspace, where he offers Vision advice that is often as manipulative as it is insightful. Their relationship forms a central part of the series, particularly as Vision attempts to understand his own identity and the kind of person he wants to become.
Marvel has described the story as exploring three generations: Ultron as a grandfather figure, Vision as a father and Tommy as a son. This creates a broader question about whether someone shaped by a troubled parental figure can break the cycle and become a better parent themselves.
The cast also includes T&rsquo;Nia Miller as Jocasta, an android created by Ultron in the comics who eventually turned against him. Her role in the series remains largely under wraps.
Who Is Tommy, And Why Is He Important?

Marvel’s VisionQuest: Release Schedule, Storyline, Cast And What To Watch Before Disney+ Series

Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia has applied for an interim injunction at the Kuala Lumpur High Court to restrict his father and sister from making certain financial and management decisions at his company, LZJ Management Sdn Bhd, while a legal dispute over its governance remains unresolved.
The application, filed on 2 July 2026, names his father, Lee Chee Hin, sister Lee Zii Yii, younger brother Lee Tao and LZJ Management as respondents. Zii Jia is seeking to prevent his father and sister, who are both directors of the company, from approving additional financial benefits for themselves or making major corporate decisions without prior court approval.
The dispute centres on the management of the company responsible for handling Zii Jia&rsquo;s professional badminton career and commercial affairs. However, the application is being contested by the respondents, and the court&rsquo;s final decision on the requested injunction has not been established.
Lee Zii Jia Seeks To Limit Financial And Management Decisions

According to the court documents, Zii Jia holds a 90% stake in LZJ Management, while Zii Yii owns 9% and Lee Tao holds the remaining 1%.
The injunction application is registered under case number WA-24NCC-400-07/2026. It reflects an ongoing dispute over how the company should be managed and how authority over its financial and corporate affairs should be exercised.
Dispute Over Company Governance And An Extraordinary General Meeting

The proposed meeting would allow shareholders to discuss matters concerning the company&rsquo;s leadership and administration, including the possible removal or appointment of directors and the appointment of a company secretary.
However, the respondents are opposing the application.
Lee Chee Hin Opposes Court Intervention

He argued that the arrangement and its financial contributions were important to the company&rsquo;s operations and its support for Zii Jia&rsquo;s career.
The affidavits filed by the parties also address disagreements involving payments and the use of Zii Jia&rsquo;s name and image. Zii Yii and Lee Tao have likewise challenged the allegations and the relief sought.
The competing positions remain subject to the court&rsquo;s consideration, and the outcome of the injunction application has yet to be established.
LZJ Management Handles Zii Jia&rsquo;s Professional Career

Ryt Bank customers can now make contactless payments using their Apple devices, following the launch of Apple Pay support for the bank&rsquo;s Ryt Card on 6 October 2026. The update allows customers to add their card to Apple Wallet and pay in stores, online and through supported apps without needing to take out their physical card.
With this addition, Ryt Bank becomes the first digital bank in Malaysia to support both Apple Pay and Google Pay. The bank introduced Google Pay support in January 2026, giving Android users access to mobile payments before extending the service to Apple users.

Ryt Bank Adds Apple Pay Support, Becoming Malaysia’s First Digital Bank To Offer Apple Pay And Google Pay

Malaysia&rsquo;s Road Transport Department (JPJ) has temporarily suspended the Vehicle Type Approval (VTA) for the Chery Omoda 5 and halted new registrations following an incident in Johor Bahru where the SUV&rsquo;s rear axle and both rear wheels reportedly detached from the vehicle.
Announced on 11 October 2026, the suspension will remain in place until technical investigations are completed and the potential safety risks are addressed. The incident occurred on 6 October along Jalan Pandan, near AEON Mall Tebrau City, with photos and videos subsequently circulating on social media.
The case has raised fresh concerns because a similar rear axle failure in April 2024 prompted Chery Malaysia to launch an inspection campaign involving 600 vehicles. Chery has now announced another recall covering affected C and H variants of the original petrol-powered Omoda 5, with inspections and necessary component replacements provided free of charge.
JPJ Suspends Omoda 5 Vehicle Type Approval

JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the suspension was a precautionary measure while the department investigates the incident and identifies potential safety risks.
Chery Malaysia has been instructed to identify potentially affected vehicles using component part numbers, production batches, Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and other relevant technical information. Vehicles identified as being at risk must be recalled for inspection and corrective action.
JPJ will also audit the Omoda 5&rsquo;s production and assembly processes, as well as the relevant axle component supplier. The audit will examine manufacturing practices, quality control systems, welding inspection procedures and component safety standards.
The suspension will only be lifted after corrective and preventive measures have been completed and JPJ confirms that the identified safety risks have been adequately addressed.
Chery Malaysia Begins Recall Campaign

Chery Auto Malaysia has confirmed that it is working with JPJ to address the issue through a recall campaign covering affected Omoda 5 C and H variants.

<li>Submit your VIN. Enter the number using uppercase letters, agree to the website&rsquo;s terms and conditions and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) notice, then submit the details.</li>
<li>Arrange an inspection. If your vehicle is affected, contact an authorised Chery service centre to arrange the necessary checks and repairs.</li>

Similar Rear Axle Issue Led To A 600-Unit Recall In 2024

Chery previously attributed the issue to a calibration problem involving welding equipment at its component supplier&rsquo;s facility. A worn welding tip had been replaced, but the equipment was reportedly not recalibrated properly afterwards.
The affected components were produced on 15 August 2023. Although 60 vehicles in Malaysia were identified as fitted with components from that production batch, Chery expanded its inspection campaign to cover 600 Omoda 5 units equipped with rear axle components manufactured between 14 and 17 August 2023.
However, it remains unconfirmed whether the latest incident in Johor Bahru is linked to the same welding issue. JPJ&rsquo;s ongoing investigation will need to establish the cause before any connection can be confirmed.
Does The Recall Affect The Chery O5 Or Omoda E5?
