Recently, Gordon posted a duet video where he was impressed by Khairul&rsquo;s Burnt Sugar Steamed Pudding as he takes his own unique twist on the recipe which was taken out of Gordon&rsquo;s cookbook &lsquo;Uncharted&rsquo;.
In the video, Gordon wholeheartedly lauded Khairul's culinary expertise and playfully advised him to prioritize showcasing the recipe rather than focusing on featuring his book. Displaying his characteristic wit, Gordon humorously expressed his apprehension about potential lumps in the dry ingredients but swiftly dismissed it by acknowledging Khairul's keen eye for detail, suggesting he would spot them from a mile away.

Initially, he knew nothing about the video and it was when he woke up, he saw many notifications from his followers tagging him about the video. He did admit that he was afraid of Gordon roasting him (I mean, who wouldn&rsquo;t be) and also joked that he&rsquo;ll give Gordon his famous sambal when he&rsquo;s in Malaysia.

Good news for Malaysians who still rely on cash for their daily spending. Starting 1 July 2026, bank customers will no longer have to pay the RM1 fee when withdrawing money from another bank&rsquo;s ATM or Smart Recycler Machine (SRM), making cash withdrawals more convenient and affordable across the country.
The initiative, announced by Malaysia&rsquo;s banking industry in collaboration with Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), means debit cardholders can enjoy unlimited free interbank cash withdrawals at more than 14,000 ATMs and SRMs nationwide.
No More RM1 Charge For Interbank Withdrawals

Previously, customers who withdrew cash from an ATM belonging to a different bank than the one that issued their debit card would be charged an RM1 fee for every transaction.
From 1 July onwards, that charge will be removed completely. Regardless of which participating bank issued the debit card, customers will be able to withdraw cash from any participating ATM or SRM across Malaysia without paying an additional fee.
The waiver applies to all ATMs and Smart Recycler Machines operated by banks nationwide, giving users greater flexibility to use whichever machine is most convenient.
Unlimited Free Withdrawals Across More Than 14,000 Machines
The new initiative will provide debit cardholders with unlimited fee-free withdrawals through a network of over 14,000 banking machines across the country.
This means consumers no longer need to search for their own bank&rsquo;s ATM simply to avoid paying extra charges. Whether they are travelling, working in another town or simply using the nearest available machine, they can access their money without worrying about additional costs.
The move is expected to make everyday banking more accessible, especially for those who frequently withdraw cash.
Cash Still Plays An Important Role

Why Has The US Government Stepped In?

The shortage has become increasingly apparent in recent years, with businesses warning that a lack of manpower is affecting productivity and growth. In the food and beverage industry alone, the Muslim Restaurant Owners Association of Malaysia (Presma) estimates that around 25,000 positions remain unfilled.
Against this backdrop, Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim has proposed a different approach &ndash; one that focuses not on bringing in more foreign workers, but on making use of refugees who are already living in Malaysia.

He pointed out that many refugee communities have been living in Malaysia for years, and rather than continuing to recruit workers from overseas, the government could study mechanisms that enable refugees to fill labour shortages in industries struggling to attract local workers.
&ldquo;Some 3D industries are indeed facing manpower shortages. Instead of continuously bringing in foreign workers from overseas, why not consider making use of the refugee groups who are already in the country and allow them to enter the labour market?&rdquo; he said.

According to Sim, providing legal employment opportunities could improve refugees&rsquo; livelihoods while also reducing social issues arising from their inability to work formally.

The proposal has reportedly already been raised at Cabinet level, with the Home Ministry instructed to study the matter further.

Sim believes some of today&rsquo;s challenges stem from weaknesses in previous border control and immigration monitoring systems. Located at 39G, Jalan SS21/37 in Damansara Utama, the outlet immediately drew large crowds during its opening weekend, with pizzas reportedly selling out due to overwhelming demand from curious Malaysians eager to finally try the chain made famous through American television shows, films and social media.
A Brand Malaysians Already Recognise

Little Caesars is entering a Malaysian market that is already highly competitive, especially within the pizza category.
Long-established names such as Domino&rsquo;s and Pizza Hut continue to dominate the market, while brands like Papa John&rsquo;s still maintain a loyal fanbase among Malaysian consumers.
However, Little Caesars appears to be positioning itself differently by leaning heavily into affordability, speed and American nostalgia &mdash; particularly through its HOT-N-READY concept, which focuses on fast pick-up meals without long waiting times.
The chain is also betting on strong brand recognition among younger consumers who have grown familiar with the company online long before its arrival in Malaysia.
A Fresh Push Into Southeast Asia
Interestingly, Malaysia&rsquo;s launch also signals a renewed Southeast Asian expansion effort for Little Caesars.
The company previously entered Singapore in 2019 before eventually exiting the market in 2024 after closing its final outlet. It had also re-entered the Philippines at one point, though operations there reportedly slowed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite those setbacks, the company appears optimistic about Malaysia&rsquo;s potential as a long-term growth market.
With its first outlet already attracting heavy crowds and social media attention, Little Caesars&rsquo; arrival may have added a new player into Malaysia&rsquo;s already competitive fast-food landscape &mdash; and pizza lovers now have one more option to debate over during late-night supper plans.

Little Caesars Officially Lands In Malaysia With First Outlet In Petaling Jaya

Starbucks Malaysia has officially unveiled the Kopi Creator Kolektif (KCK) Class of 2026, introducing 10 promising local creatives selected to take part in a creator development programme aimed at nurturing the next generation of Malaysian musicians and filmmakers.
Announced in conjunction with World Creativity and Innovation Day, the initiative features five musicians and five filmmakers chosen through an open call earlier this year. The selected finalists will now undergo a series of industry-led mentorship sessions, workshops, and masterclasses before presenting their original works during a live showcase on 16 May 2026 at Starbucks Reserve&reg; IOI Mall Damansara.
The programme reflects Starbucks Malaysia&rsquo;s continued efforts to support homegrown creativity while providing emerging artists with opportunities to gain exposure, refine their craft, and connect with industry professionals.
More Than Just A Coffeehouse

Kopi Creator Kolektif was created as a platform to support young Malaysian talent by bringing together aspiring creatives, mentors, and creative communities under one initiative.
The programme is rooted in Starbucks&rsquo; long-standing &ldquo;Third Place&rdquo; philosophy, which positions its coffeehouses as welcoming spaces beyond home and work where people can gather, exchange ideas, and build meaningful connections.
According to Starbucks Malaysia, caf&eacute;s today have evolved into more than just places for food and drinks. The company cited a 2024 local study involving 230 university students, which found that caf&eacute;s are often used as spaces for discussions, assignments, social gatherings, and creative collaboration, with many respondents describing them as a &ldquo;second home&rdquo;.
Zakiah Hanim Md Zaki, Director of Marketing &amp; Loyalty at Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company Sdn Bhd, said the company sees its coffeehouses as spaces where creativity and community can thrive together.
She shared that it was inspiring to witness Malaysian creative talents coming together through the programme, adding that Starbucks was proud to provide a platform where local stories and artistic expression could be discovered and celebrated.
Mentorship From Industry Players

Following the selection process, finalists will now take part in tailored development tracks designed to strengthen both their artistic identity and technical skills.
For the music cohort, the programme will be led by Breaking Music, with sessions focusing on personal branding, original songwriting, and performance readiness. Finalists will also gain access to professional studio facilities and industry-grade equipment to help refine their material ahead of the showcase.
Meanwhile, the film cohort will be mentored by Weekend Boys Studio together with Multimedia University&rsquo;s Faculty of Cinematic Arts. Their sessions will centre on storytelling, concept development, and production techniques from idea creation through to screen execution.
Director and film mentor Adam Zainal described initiatives like KCK as important platforms for emerging creatives, noting that a strong creative culture depends on giving new voices room to experiment, grow, and share their perspectives with wider audiences.
Music mentor and Breaking Music co-founder Isaac Ravi also praised the initiative, saying opportunities like these can significantly impact emerging artists and help open doors within the industry.
He added that the Class of 2026 already showed strong promise and expressed excitement to see how the finalists would develop throughout the programme.
Live Showcase Happening This May

The programme will culminate in the KCK Showcase on 16 May 2026 at Starbucks Reserve&reg; IOI Mall Damansara, where finalists will present the projects they have spent weeks developing.
Music finalists are expected to perform at least one original song each, while filmmakers will premiere teaser presentations of their proposed film concepts.
The showcase will also serve as a platform for Malaysians to discover new local talent and support rising creatives within the country&rsquo;s growing arts scene.
At the end of the event, one winner from each category will receive prizes valued at RM10,000. The winning musician will earn the opportunity to record a four-track EP, while the winning filmmaker will receive funding and support for the production of an original short film.
Expanding Beyond Music
Kopi Creator Kolektif first debuted in late 2025 through intimate live music sessions held at Starbucks coffeehouses, featuring local acts such as Amanda Imani, An Honest Mistake, and RESORT.
With the inclusion of filmmakers in this year&rsquo;s edition, the platform is now expanding beyond music in an effort to further strengthen Malaysia&rsquo;s creative ecosystem and create more opportunities for young talents to showcase their work.
Through the initiative, Starbucks Malaysia hopes to continue building spaces where Malaysians can pursue their passions, connect with their communities, and turn creative ideas into meaningful opportunities &mdash; whether through music, film, or simply over a cup of coffee.
