As we did mention that 2023 is looking to be a good year for gaming, Meta also acknowledged that it&rsquo;s also going to be tough in terms of competition. That&rsquo;s exactly what we&rsquo;ll be looking at as Apple is stepping into the VR scene with their very own headset.
Introducing the Apple Vision Pro

Rumours of the Apple Vision Pro have been circulating for quite some time, and it appears that they are finally coming to an end as Apple has unveiled its first-ever VR headset. The headset is claimed to be the world's most advanced personal electronic device, running on visionOS, which is touted as the world's first spatial operating system.
Unlike the Quest 3, the Apple Vision Pro closely resembles its early speculated renders. The headset incorporates several design elements from the 'Apple Watch,' such as a digital crown and a physical button. These features enable users to capture spatial photos and videos using the built-in 3D camera.

One of the key features of the Vision Pro headset is its ability to provide a mixed-reality experience, combining augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). With its intelligent cameras and sensors, users can control the headset without the need for any additional accessories.
Apple has incorporated a 3D camera into the headset, allowing users to interact with it using just their eyes, hand gestures, and voice commands. Want to browse through an app? Simply look at an object, tap your finger to select the app, and flick your wrist to scroll up.
As for the screen quality, Apple has once again exceeded expectations by equipping the Vision Pro with a micro-LED display. This display boasts a resolution surpassing 4K for each eye, delivering crystal-clear visuals and transforming the user's surroundings into their own personal movie theatre.

With the Vision Pro, that problem will now be eliminated thanks to the attachable ZEISS optical inserts which provide greater clarity and eye-tracking accuracy. To cut down the bulky feeling of a VR headset, users will be given the option to use its very own in-built speakers or to use their AirPods for audio.

When one was to say VR headset, the first thing that comes to mind is gaming and knowing Apple, they don&rsquo;t hold the best reputation when it comes to gaming performance. The Vision Pro was designed and focused on individuals who have productivity in mind. Users can use the headset to launch apps in a virtual environment whether it's you having a video call or simply if you&rsquo;re working on spreadsheets or browsing the web.
In case you might get distracted, the EyeSight feature will kick in and help users to be more aware of their surroundings. When approached by someone, the display will become transparent and will provide you with a pass-thru to see them. The cooler bit of this is that those talking to you will also be able to see your eyes while talking making the conversation feel more natural.
Sometimes when we are too emersed and busy with work, EyeSight will also give a queue that you&rsquo;re in the middle of something and the transparency can be adjusted via the digital crown.

How Much &amp; When Can We Get The Vision Pro Headset?
Before revealing the price, the Vision Pro will run on a dual-chip design using the M2 chip and a new R1 chip to handle the 12 cameras, 5 sensors and six microphones without it lagging. Additionally, the new R1 chip can stream images to the display of the Vision Pro within 12 milliseconds.

In terms of battery performance, Apple is optimized for full-day usage when the headset is connected, providing "up to two hours of usage" with the external battery for the Vision Pro.
&nbsp;Now for the shocking bit, during the WDCC23, Apple says that the Vision Pro will be priced at USD3,499 (~RM16,100) and will go on sale in early 2024 but there&rsquo;s no news for its availability for the Malaysian market just yet. As for app support, Disney has also announced that their Disney+ streaming services will be available on the Vision Pro on Day 1 of the availability of the product.

For the price tag, it's certainly something to really think about as it could really put a dent in our bank accounts. Despite of it, the features are pretty cool too so it won&rsquo;t be a shock to see people use the headset despite of its hefty price tag.

This move signals a shift from administrative detention to a more stringent custodial arrangement due to the seriousness of the allegations against him.
Who Is Vitaly Zdorovetskiy?

However, his notoriety has been marred by frequent controversies. In his early content, Vitaly was known for shock-based humour, but in recent years, his antics have escalated into confrontational &ldquo;in real life&rdquo; (IRL) stunts. In April 2025, during a series of live streams in the Philippines, he was accused of harassing locals, attempting to kiss a security guard without consent, and even allegedly stealing.
The resulting public outcry was swift, with Filipino authorities responding by detaining him. The Bureau of Immigration confirmed that the arrest was prompted by multiple reports of public disorder and violations of immigration laws. Notably, officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) confirmed that Zdorovetskiy admitted to several of the alleged acts.

Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado emphasised that Vitaly&rsquo;s case is not merely administrative in nature but a matter of upholding Philippine law and protecting public order.
&ldquo;This is not simply an administrative concern&mdash;it is a matter of upholding the integrity of our immigration system,&rdquo; Viado stated. &ldquo;We cannot allow deportation proceedings to be delayed or derailed by public figures using their platform for sympathy or manipulation.&rdquo;
He added that foreign nationals, regardless of celebrity status, must respect local laws or face legal consequences.
The denial of bail and transfer to BJMP Muntinlupa suggest Philippine authorities are taking a tough stance, especially after rising public concern over foreign social media influencers allegedly abusing their platform to disrespect host countries.
Prison Conditions, Health Decline, and Public Backlash
Following his arrest on 2 April 2025, Vitaly&rsquo;s conditions in custody have drawn attention. Reports surfaced alleging that the YouTuber was being held in a sweltering cell with no air conditioning. Images released on social media on 16 June showed a visibly thinner Vitaly, sparking concern among fans. Observers noted significant weight and muscle loss, with noticeable changes in his facial structure.

Initially, some reports speculated he could be detained for up to three years, but legal analysts now estimate a potential sentence closer to 18 months &mdash; if found guilty. Nevertheless, his legal battles are far from over. As of now, there is no confirmed trial date nor clarity on how long the proceedings may take.
President Ferdinand &ldquo;Bongbong&rdquo; Marcos Jr himself weighed in on the controversy. In a public statement, he condemned the YouTuber&rsquo;s actions, saying: &ldquo;One of the things we saw this Sunday was the infuriating behaviour of a foreign vlogger toward our fellow citizens. Whether he was joking or not, what Filipino wouldn&rsquo;t feel their blood boil watching that?&rdquo;
Deportation Only After Due Process
Once the local court cases are resolved, Zdorovetskiy is expected to be deported from the Philippines as an &ldquo;undesirable alien.&rdquo; However, complications remain. Both the United States and Russia have thus far declined to take custody of him, potentially prolonging his stay in the Philippines even after sentencing.
The BI reiterated that deportation cannot proceed until all legal matters are settled. Commissioner Viado made clear that hospitality must never be mistaken for tolerance of disrespect or illegal activity.
&ldquo;Foreign nationals are welcome in the Philippines&mdash;but they are expected to obey our laws and respect our communities. Those who choose otherwise must face the appropriate legal consequences,&rdquo; he said.
Until then, Zdorovetskiy remains behind bars in Muntinlupa with no bail, no release date, and a trial that could stretch on for months.

The tragic discovery of a 39-year-old schoolteacher&rsquo;s decomposed body in her Johor home has sparked widespread concern and prompted authorities to issue a public appeal for assistance in tracing her only known living relative. The woman, who had been absent from work since September last year, is believed to have died alone nearly a month prior to the discovery of her remains.
Alarming Smell Leads to Grim Discovery

On the evening of Thursday, 12 June, residents of Bandar Selesa Jaya in Skudai were alarmed by a strong foul smell emanating from a house in their neighbourhood. After days of tolerating the stench, one concerned neighbour finally lodged a police report at the Nusa Bestari Police Station at approximately 8:06pm.
Responding officers forced entry into the premises, where they were met with a harrowing scene: the lifeless, heavily decomposed body of a woman&mdash;later identified as Lo Kwan Fong, also known as Luo Qunfeng (transliteration)&mdash;was found inside the house.
According to Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan, the Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, the victim is believed to have died about a month earlier. Early observations ruled out any signs of a struggle or forced entry.
No Foul Play Suspected, But Autopsy Inconclusive

A post-mortem examination was carried out at Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) in Johor Bahru by forensic specialists. Neighbours also noted that they had not seen her in a long time, but it wasn&rsquo;t until the strong odour began to spread that authorities were contacted.
She led a quiet, solitary life. According to her colleagues, she was reserved and rarely spoke about her personal affairs. She had reportedly lost both parents before 2010, and it was believed she had no siblings. She never married and had no children.
The only relative she had ever mentioned was her maternal aunt, who had moved to Singapore many years ago. This aunt, now estimated to be around 74 years old, is presumed to be her only surviving family member. However, no direct contact information for the aunt is known, making the search more difficult.
Her colleagues, heartbroken by the manner in which she passed, have since appealed for public assistance in finding this relative so that Lo can be laid to rest by family, not strangers.

The man, who was wearing a face mask, attempted to flee but was stopped at a nearby traffic light and later tackled to the ground when he tried to escape again.
Students Take Action Before Police Arrive

Initially, no incriminating content was visible, prompting concerns that the man may have deleted evidence. However, one of the students realised that some Android devices can switch between multiple user accounts or operating environments. Upon switching systems, they made a chilling discovery.

The video quickly went viral, with many praising the students for their courage and initiative. However, the individuals behind the video were quick to clarify their motivations. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re not doing this for attention or praise. According to PDRM, the incident is believed to have taken place in the Ampang Jaya district of Selangor. In response, a disciplinary and criminal investigation has been launched against the officer.

Integrity Issues Plague PDRM Amid Officer Misconduct Scandal

The recent viral misconduct case is just the tip of the iceberg for the PDRM, as broader concerns about internal discipline and professionalism continue to mount. Between January and May 2025, 492 officers were subjected to disciplinary action, with 59 dismissed and 146 suspended, according to Datuk Seri Azri Ahmad, Director of PDRM&rsquo;s Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS).
The most common offences were integrity-related violations (333 cases), followed by governance issues (45), drug offences (42), criminal acts (38), syariah breaches (19), and corruption (15). The figures were revealed during Azri&rsquo;s visit to the newly officiated Maran District Police Headquarters, which serves over 115,000 residents.
Public complaints about police misconduct also surged, with 2,637 reports filed in just five months&mdash;1,892 formal complaints and 745 public tips. In response, PDRM launched the Aduan JIPS PDRM app, offering a more transparent platform for the public to report wrongdoing.
End of a Career and a Call for Reform
Azri&rsquo;s remarks came as part of his final tour of duty, with his retirement scheduled for 26 June 2025, marking the end of a 37-year career in the police service. His departure comes at a pivotal moment, as PDRM faces mounting pressure to reform and rebuild trust with the public.
While the current case may involve a single officer, it has highlighted systemic concerns around supervision, discipline, and the need for continued vigilance against abuses of power.
