For many of us, we tend to enjoy watching videos of space launches especially when it&rsquo;s from companies such as NASA and Elon Musk&rsquo;s SpaceX. Over the years, many of us have been fascinated with SpaceX as they have been launching many rockets into our orbit which has the ability to land by itself.

But while we get distracted with those launches, we should also pay attention to what&rsquo;s happening in our local scene as Malaysia-based Angkasa-X launched their first satellite, the A-SEANSAT-PG1 (PG1) last week from Russia&rsquo;s Vostochny Cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1b Launcher.
The aim of Angkasa-X was to propel the development of spacetech ecosystem in Malaysia along with providing connectivity in the region through its Satellite-as-s-Service (SaaS) offering to create constellations of Low-Earth-Orbit (LEO) satellites along the equator.

Angkasa-X states that the satellite that was designed in Malaysia by Malaysians will be working to help provide remote-sensing services and revolutionise internet connectivity to millions in the ASEAN region, especially those who live in the rural areas in Asia who are pretty divided from the digital world.
&ldquo;The launch of the PG1, Penang 1 satellite is a momentous occasion for Malaysia, propelling us towards a new era of technological advancement and establishing our position in the global SpaceTech ecosystem. I&rsquo;m pleased to say that Malaysia is the first country in Southeast Asia to design, assemble and launch homegrown LEO satellites, the first in 2009 with RazakSAT-1, and now PG1 in 2023,&rdquo; said Chow Kon Yeow, the Chief Minister of Penang
Not only that the satellite will enhance data connectivity but it will also open up opportunities for innovation and economic growth as the country can drive talent development, create high-value jobs, develop new space technology solutions that can be sold globally as well as attract domestic and international investment and talents that can help impact the economy positively.

The launch of the satellite is an impressive and incredible milestone and Angkasa-X Group Executive Chairman and DEO Dr Sean Seah says that they are dedicated to the team of Malaysian engineers who made this possible after highlighting their brilliant engineering skills.
At the bottom line, the most important thing is connectivity for the betterment of humankind. These satellites will provide essential data sought after by governments, security agencies, and the private sector. The data will be crucial for various purposes such as weather forecasting, aircraft tracking, maritime surveillance, and security.
Additionally, the satellites will offer real-time imaging of locations prone to potential hazards like landslides, deforestation, and natural disasters. The imagery captured by these satellites will play a vital role in reducing risks, aiding in disaster relief efforts, and ultimately saving countless lives. Furthermore, the data will furnish specific geographical features that can assist town planners in making well-informed decisions to promote effective and comprehensive development.
ANGKASA-X aims to become the pioneering SpaceTech Unicorn in Southeast Asia. Its ultimate goals revolve around expediting the development of the ASEAN Space Economy. Additionally, it aims to support nation-building efforts in Equator-straddling countries by providing satellite services that enhance national security and offer satellite internet connectivity to citizens residing in rural areas.

Who Is Baekhyun?

Baekhyun’s ‘Reverie’ World Tour Is Coming to KL and Singapore!

After ten years of making their mark on the Malaysian music scene &mdash; and in the playlists of countless fans across the region &mdash; pop-rock band Insomniacks are ready to take the stage for their first-ever solo concert. Titled Echoes of a Dream: Insomniacks Live in Concert, the event marks a significant milestone for the beloved group.

Insomniacks is a Malaysian pop-rock band that has rapidly emerged as one of the country's most beloved music acts, known for their emotionally charged lyrics, catchy melodies, and youthful energy. Formed in 2015, the band first gained attention by uploading cover songs on YouTube, showcasing their raw talent and chemistry. It wasn&rsquo;t long before they transitioned into crafting their own original sound, debuting with the heartfelt single &ldquo;Selalu&rdquo; in 2017 &mdash; a song that resonated deeply with listeners and was featured on the Astro Ria drama My Coffee Prince.

More than a decade since audiences were first dazzled by sleight of hand and cinematic spectacle in Now You See Me, the franchise is poised for a thrilling return. The third instalment, Now You See Me: Now You Don&rsquo;t, promises the most audacious heist yet &mdash; blending the original gang of illusionists with a new wave of rising stars in a high-stakes battle against a dangerous criminal organisation.
The Original Horsemen Saddle Up Again

The film marks the long-awaited reunion of the core cast that captivated fans in the first instalment. Jesse Eisenberg returns as the cerebral and enigmatic J. As the timer hit zero, the display changed to reveal &ldquo;Now You Don&rsquo;t&rdquo; &mdash; and fans who had texted in received instant digital cash giveaways totalling $250,000, as well as exclusive access to the official trailer.
Newcomers Greenblatt, Smith, and Sessa appeared in person to help carry out what Lionsgate dubbed a visual &ldquo;heist,&rdquo; adding to the fanfare and bringing the energy of the franchise&rsquo;s big-screen illusions to real life. It was a fittingly dramatic entrance for a film built on misdirection and flair.
