If you had said a few years back that TikTok wouldn't go anywhere in the future, you'd definitely be eating your words now.
Back in the day, content creators – like the ones churning out YouTube videos – couldn't have predicted how their field would explode. People started turning to these folks to promote their products, ditching traditional ad agencies.
And that's all thanks to the sheer power of social media. It's become a game-changer, helping countless individuals build their personal brands and gain local recognition. The reach it offers is simply mind-boggling.

Over the weekend, the inaugural event took place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) where TikTok celebrated content creation by honouring the diverse and authentic local content creators who have been constantly inspiring their communities and shaping the current content creation industry.
In the weeks leading up to this event, the public had the chance to cast their votes in the People's Choice categories, witnessing a riveting competition among content creators, each vying for the top spot in their respective categories.
Among the contenders, our very own local internet chef, Khairul Aming, found himself in a fierce competition alongside creators like @auntiepurple248, @bossjames_oe, @ceddyornot, @lawyergandhi, and @sallywhoo. His business has since surged, reaching a remarkable revenue of RM21.5 million. Notably, his exceptional achievements also earned him the prestigious 'Best New Seller' and 'Best Customer Service' accolades on Shopee. Through these remarkable feats, Khairul Aming has undoubtedly captured the admiration and loyalty of countless online enthusiasts.

“I want to take this opportunity to share some insight with the younger generation who aspires to be a content creator.”
He urged the children who watch his videos to stay in school, even if their end goal is to become content creators. He explains that being a content creator isn’t always about “going viral” but to also staying relevant in the industry where one needs to be equipped with plenty of knowledge, creative thinking and problem-solving skills as well as other qualities like having manners.
“So please, finish your studies and then become the content creator that exudes positivity and can help make Malaysia a better place,” he said to end off his speech.
