BamBam has just unveiled his very first world tour, and one of the highly anticipated stops is none other than the iconic Mega Star Arena, nestled within the heart of Sungai Wang Plaza. Mark your calendars for the electrifying night of October 15th, as BamBam is all set to grace the stage, performing his chart-topping hits exclusively for his adoring local fanbase!

Who is BamBam?

For those who may not be acquainted with BamBam, whose real name is Kunpimook Bhuwakul, he hails from Thailand and acquired his moniker from the beloved character Bamm-Bamm Rubble from "The Flintstones." In his formative years, BamBam developed a keen interest in Korean culture, driven by the fond memories of attending numerous concerts with his mother, who happened to be a devoted fan of Rain.

At the tender age of 10, his passion for singing and dancing was ignited, and he became a member of the dance crew known as "We Zaa Cool," which notably included Lisa of Blackpink. BamBam's journey towards stardom commenced when he clinched the title at the Thailand Rain Cover Dance Competition in 2007 and secured second place in the Thailand LG Entertainment Competition in 2010. His talent and determination shone even brighter when, at the age of 13, he successfully navigated the rigorous JYP World Tour Audition in Thailand, ultimately leading him to pack his bags and relocate to South Korea to embark on his path as a trainee.

In 2014, he made his debut with Got7, joining forces with fellow bandmates Mark Tuan and Jackson Wang. This marked a significant turning point in their careers, propelling the group to become one of the most prominent male K-pop acts in the industry. Fast forward to 2021, BamBam decided to part ways with JYP Entertainment once his contract came to an end. Subsequently, he inked a new deal with Abyss Company, where he embarked on his solo journey.

Under his new label, he notched his solo debut with the release of his first extended play, titled "Ribbon." Over the years, he followed this up with several successful singles, paving the way for his inaugural studio album, "Sour & Sweet," which graced the music scene on March 28, 2023.

Catch Him Live At Area 52

BamBam fans will have an exciting opportunity to witness him in action during his inaugural world tour scheduled for the upcoming month at the Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur. In addition to his own repertoire, BamBam has planned a special treat for his Malaysian audience. He has reached out to his fans on Twitter, creating a poll where they can choose a song by a local Malaysian artist for him to perform during the concert. Additionally, he has encouraged fans to suggest songs they would like to hear at the event.

In his first poll, he let fans decide, and they chose "Luar Buasa" by Ismail Izzani over "Swipe" by ALYPH, even though he admitted that "Swipe" was a really good song.

Following Ismail Izzani's victory in the initial poll, it became evident that fans were eager for him to perform another popular song. They urged him to cover "Pulang" by Insomniacks, and he promptly responded by organizing a second poll. As expected, "Pulang" emerged as the clear favourite, garnering an impressive 70.6% majority of the votes.

The fan interaction between BamBam and his fans was heartwarming, with many giving him credit for his desire to include a local song in his tour.
