Nevertheless, on April 14th, travellers at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 (KLIA 1) were jolted by a frightening incident. In the early morning hours, two gunshots rang out, sparking panic among airport patrons.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan disclosed that the incident, which occurred at 1:30 am, centred around a man who allegedly intended to target and fatally harm his wife, Farah Cie. It was reported that she was waiting for Umrah pilgrims to return at the time.
&ldquo;The suspect fired two shots at his wife. However, one of the bullets hit a local man who is a bodyguard. After the shooting, the man fled the scene.&rdquo;

According to police reports, the assailant has been identified as 38-year-old Hafizul Harawi, characterized as a dangerous individual armed with firearms. Law enforcement officials reveal that the suspect and his wife operate a travel and Umrah agency. Allegedly, the perpetrator initially detonated a firecracker, injuring two bystanders, before targeting his wife, who was stationed near the arrival hall entrance.
Authorities assert that Hafizul approached his intended victim with determination, firing from close proximity, approximately three to four meters away. The first shot missed its mark, while the second inadvertently struck a bodyguard instead of the intended target. Subsequently, the suspect fled to the second floor of Block C, where he had initially parked his vehicle.
Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the Director of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, disclosed Hafizul's criminal history, comprising three prior offences. These include two counts of intimidation (under Section 506 of the Penal Code) and one for theft and impersonating a civil servant (under Section 380/Section 170 of the Penal Code).
Currently, authorities have disseminated images of the suspect at various border crossings and to neighbouring countries' law enforcement agencies to prevent his escape. They remain optimistic about his imminent arrest.
Body Guard Now In Critical Condition

Following the shooting, it was reported that the bodyguard, Nur Hadith, is currently in critical condition. Additionally, it came to light that his employer, Elite Bodyguard Service Company, disclosed that he was not originally rostered for duty that day. However, he volunteered to cover for his colleague, who was absent for Hari Raya celebrations. Rashid Tatag, the company's director, mentioned that they affectionately referred to him as "Along." Nur Hadith has been a dedicated member of the team for four years and possesses extensive training in security control.
&ldquo;I didn&rsquo;t expect Along to be so committed to the task given to him that he was willing to risk his life,&rdquo; said Rashid.

In the aftermath of the shooting, the public has been cautioned against approaching Hafizul if they encounter him and advised to promptly notify the authorities. The case is under investigation under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and the Firearms Act.

Experts believe that the rise in regional cases can be attributed to factors such as waning immunity, higher rates of travel, and reduced levels of testing. Despite this, the Health Ministry stressed that the domestic situation remains under control and that the public should not be alarmed.
No More Quarantine, But Health Measures Still Encouraged

According to reports, the idea may have stemmed from an earlier failed attempt to get money from family. Just two months prior, Ye had allegedly approached his grandfather with a claim that he had been duped in a cryptocurrency scam and requested 40,000 yuan (about RM23,900). When the elder refused to comply, Ye appeared to have escalated his tactics dramatically.
Legal Consequences and Courtroom Developments
