<p>Typically, news of a mosque construction garners community support, but Kim's announcement stirred controversy after fellow Korean Muslim influencer Ayana Jihye Moon (xolovelyayana) raised concerns about fundraising practices. Moon cautioned followers about the possibility of scams involving donations to private accounts, prompting scrutiny within the community.</p>

In their announcement, they clarified that the project is not affiliated with the KMF and that the fundraising efforts were solely led by Daud Kim on a personal basis.</p>

<p>Activist and social media personality Farah Lee took to <a href="https://www.facebook.com/farahlee.FL/posts/pfbid025wFfntxV9R4gArBGKH2qTZj67Hdo1t8TeC8fHqvA5Wr8KPBzcbKcMFn78dgbgXvjl">Facebook</a> to voice her suspicions about the matter, particularly after several media reports in Korea featuring Kim. Having lived in Korea for five years, Farah cautioned Malaysians against indiscriminately channelling donations to any private account, even for religious purposes.</p>

<p>She elaborated on South Korean government regulations, highlighting the prohibition against private accounts collecting donations. Farah emphasized the challenge of recovering funds in case of fraudulent activities. While acknowledging the possibility of constructing mosques in Korea, she pointed out the current complexities in obtaining permission due to the prevailing circumstances.</p>
<p>"As someone who is actively involved in charity and fund-raising projects, I emphasize the importance of carrying out such initiatives in collaboration with registered NGOs to ensure transparent fund management and fund audit," he said.</p>

<p>Farah also shared a link to an article detailing Daud's interview with South Korean media. According to the report, he had only signed a land purchase contract and didn't obtain ownership. He expressed plans to construct a building for content creation purposes, along with a prayer room. An official from the Jung-gu district in Incheon confirmed the permission but noted that the building's size was expected to be relatively small, ranging from 65 to 100 meters.</p>
