In Malaysia, car owners know the appeal of owning a distinctive number plate. Periodically, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) releases special edition plates, offering Malaysians the chance to acquire unique registrations for their vehicles.

Yet, acquiring a single-digit plate can be jaw-droppingly expensive, driven by factors like exclusivity, status, cultural significance, and limited availability.

YDPA Sultan Ibrahim Wins ‘FFF 1’ Special Edition Bid

Our Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim ibni Sultan Iskandar, has once again set a new bidding record this year by winning the ‘FFF 1’ license plate with a staggering bid of RM1.75 million.

The bidding for the ‘FFF’ series commenced online on May 11 and lasted five days, coinciding with the JPJ’s 78th anniversary, concluding on May 15 at 10 pm.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Sultan Ibrahim expressed his hope that the proceeds from this bid, directed to the Federal Government, will benefit the citizens of Malaysia.

His bid for the ‘FFF 1’ plate now holds the national record for the highest bid on a vehicle license plate, surpassing his previous record of RM1.5 million for the ‘Gold 1’ plate won in February 20, exceeding it by RM250,000.
