We all know the feeling of ordering GrabFood but then there&rsquo;s a long queue to wait for it. Sometimes you just ask yourself if it&rsquo;s worth waiting for the food for that long.

But now, you&rsquo;ll not need to do this anymore as Grab has recently added a new priority delivery feature during the check-out process!
The delivery option is not applicable for self-pickup or cash orders, business orders or for restaurants that use their in-house delivery fleet.

Of course, you&rsquo;ll have additional charges when using priority delivery and it will be depending on your delivery distance between the restaurant and delivery address. If your order does not reach you in the given time frame or if no driver is found, you&rsquo;ll receive a GrabFood voucher which can be used on your next order.

When you place an order is placed with priority selected, Grab will compensate you with a RM15 voucher if no driver is found.&nbsp;

A RM10 voucher will also be received by users if the delivery is late by 15 minutes or more. If you were to receive it 30 minutes late then Grab will compensate with a RM15 voucher.
I guess that&rsquo;s fair, but users can likely abuse this feature by just purposely stating that their food arrived late.
According to the <a href="https://help.grab.com/passenger/en-my/900002947223">FAQ</a>, each user is only entitled to receive a maximum of 2 GrabFood vouchers within 24 hours. The Priority Delivery option will not be available if one were to hit the limit for the day as well.
If a user were to have irregular activity, they will be opted out of priority delivery as a safety precaution to prevent potential fraud. If you think this is a mistake, a <a href="https://help.grab.com/passenger/en-my/900005077643">report can be made</a> to Grab for further assistance.
By the look of it, regular GrabFood customers will potentially have delays in getting their food. This will be the most apparent during peak hours as there will be many users who&rsquo;ll opt-in for Priority Delivery.
Grab did not mention if the delivery partner-rider in Malaysia will receive a cut from the Priority Delivery option. But according to Grab Singapore&rsquo;s driver FAQ, the commission remains unchanged for Priority Delivery jobs. Grab will not penalise the driver if there is a failure to meet the estimated delivery time due to external factors.
All honesty, Grab should really give the riders a portion of the priority fee as sometimes they might be putting their lives at risk for needing to send your food to you in time. We all know that some riders are seen cutting the red lights and zooming through traffic to get a good rating on their order. To me, priority fee is just another way of gaining money without incurring additional cost.

Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has officially announced his resignation from the Cabinet, ending his tenure as Malaysia&rsquo;s Minister of Economy. In a statement released on 28 May 2025 and echoed in a social media post the same day, Rafizi confirmed that his resignation will take effect on 17 June 2025. He will begin utilising the remainder of his annual leave starting immediately, which will run until 16 June.
&ldquo;I have submitted my resignation letter to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,&rdquo; Rafizi wrote. &ldquo;This resignation takes effect from 17 June. Beginning today, I will be on leave until then.&rdquo;
Stepping Down After Losing Party Mandate

He will be on leave from 29 May until the day before his departure.
In a statement, Nik Nazmi acknowledged that his role as PKR vice-president was a key factor in his Cabinet appointment. With that mandate now lost, he said it was appropriate for him to make way. He also failed to defend his position as Setiawangsa PKR chief during the party&rsquo;s divisional elections last month.

&ldquo;This is a huge win for animal rights in Malaysia generally and a positive first step towards obtaining justice for Kopi, who was murdered in cold blood,&rdquo; he told reporters following the decision.

Kopi was a familiar figure in the Besut district, known to many residents and animal lovers for her calm and affectionate demeanour. Her popularity soared in March 2024, after a video went viral on social media showing her gently playing with a stray kitten. The video, uploaded by one of her feeders, Abby Razali, garnered widespread attention and led to a wave of online affection.
But that public goodwill turned into collective outrage when news broke that Kopi had been shot dead during a stray dog culling operation carried out by the Besut District Council. The shooting occurred in the early hours of 6 October 2024, reportedly around 1.30am.
According to Dr Kartini Farah Abdul Rahim, one of the plaintiffs, several residents were awakened by the sound of gunshots. Upon investigating, they observed three council officers driving around in a pick-up truck. Shortly after, Kopi was found dead from gunshot wounds. Her death, initially revealed via a post on the &ldquo;My Forever Doggo&rdquo; Instagram account, prompted widespread condemnation and demands for accountability.
Legal Grounds: Alleged Breach of Animal Welfare Law

Section 29(e) prohibits causing unnecessary pain or suffering to animals, while Section 30(1) forbids the killing of animals using a firearm, except under specific conditions outlined in Section 30(2). These exceptions include approval by a veterinary authority, instances where an animal poses imminent danger to human life, or where such action is necessary to control the spread of disease.
The plaintiffs are therefore seeking a declaration from the court that the use of firearms in this case was not legally justified, and that the authorities acted beyond the bounds of the law.
Challenging Local By-Laws
Beyond the immediate question of Kopi&rsquo;s death, the case also seeks to address a broader legal conflict between federal and local regulations. The activists are challenging the legality of the Besut District Council&rsquo;s Dog Licensing By-Laws 1990, specifically Sections 9(1) and 9(2), which empower council officers to shoot licensed or unlicensed dogs if no owner can be located.
The plaintiffs argue that these by-laws are incompatible with the stricter protections afforded by the Animal Welfare Act, a federal law that supersedes local legislation. They assert that allowing council officers to indiscriminately kill strays undermines national legal standards and sets a dangerous precedent.
Government and Council&rsquo;s Defence

A statement issued by the Besut District Council on 13 October 2024 maintained that the actions taken during the culling operation were lawful. However, this justification has failed to appease critics, who argue that even if procedures were followed, the procedures themselves may be unlawful under federal law.

The case has galvanised animal rights supporters across the country and is being closely watched by legal experts, animal advocacy groups, and members of the public alike. Many see it as a test of Malaysia&rsquo;s commitment to upholding the protections enshrined in the Animal Welfare Act.
