This scammer vanished with nearly RM300,000, luring collectors in with promises of exclusive Royal Molly figures&mdash;only to disappear without delivering a single item.
A Carefully Crafted Deception

Exploiting the fear of missing out (FOMO) that drives many collectors, he managed to secure payments from multiple buyers before vanishing into thin air.
One victim, identified as Ms A, was personally approached by the scammer, who knew of her enthusiasm for Royal Molly figures. On 5 February, she placed an order with a promised delivery date of 5 March. However, the excuses soon began rolling in&mdash;first, he blamed shipping delays from China, then tried to upsell her a different colour variation for an extra RM500. By 7 March, he finally admitted he had never placed her order. Despite promising a refund, he disappeared, leaving Ms A with a RM7,488 loss and no collectables to show for it.
A Web of Deception Unravelled

As more victims began realising they had been scammed, they connected through social media and formed a WhatsApp group&mdash;a support network for those who had fallen prey to the fraud. The scale of the scam became clear: over 30 collectors had been swindled, with individual losses ranging from RM1,000 to RM35,000. In total, the stolen amount was nearly RM300,000&mdash;enough to purchase a small apartment.
Eventually, the victims managed to track down the scammer&rsquo;s brother. However, his response was nothing short of insulting&mdash;he proposed a repayment plan of RM500 per month, a sum so small it would take decades to fully repay the victims. To make matters worse, he issued a threat: if anyone reported the fraud to the police, all repayments would cease immediately, turning the situation into a financial hostage crisis.
A Shameless Display of Audacity

If the scam itself was not outrageous enough, the fraudster&rsquo;s next move was even more shocking. Instead of returning any of the stolen money, he had the audacity to ask his victims for loans ranging from RM2,500 to RM5,000, supposedly to cover urgent medical expenses. It was an act of deception within a deception which really blew the mind of many.
As of now, only three victims have officially filed police reports, while others have either accepted the slow repayment plan or decided to cut their losses. The scammer, meanwhile, is believed to be overseas, potentially surrounded by a collection of Royal Molly figures bought with stolen funds.
A Costly Lesson for Collectors
This case is a stark reminder of the risks associated with unchecked trust in online purchases, particularly in tight-knit collector communities where passion often overrides caution.

Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, who has been approached by victims for assistance, has urged more people to come forward and report the fraud. He advised that the scammer should be given one last opportunity to refund the money before the matter is escalated legally.
Ultimately, this incident serves as a harsh reality check: in the world of designer toys, the most valuable commodity isn&rsquo;t a limited-edition figurine&mdash;it&rsquo;s financial prudence. Upon investigating, they observed three council officers driving around in a pick-up truck. Shortly after, Kopi was found dead from gunshot wounds. After years of speculation, teasing, and public demand, WhatsApp has officially launched a native app for the iPad. This long-awaited release marks a significant milestone for the Meta-owned platform, which, until now, has been conspicuously absent from the iPad&rsquo;s App Store despite being one of the world&rsquo;s most-used messaging services. Starting today, users can download WhatsApp for iPad directly from the Apple App Store&mdash;bringing the full power of the app to a larger screen, complete with iPadOS multitasking support, video and audio call features, and device synchronisation.

WhatsApp first emerged in 2009&mdash;ironically a year before Apple launched the original iPad&mdash;yet, for over 15 years, a dedicated iPad version remained elusive. Users were left to rely on the limited WhatsApp Web interface or employ unofficial workarounds to access the messaging platform on their tablets. These methods offered only a fraction of the full experience, lacking core features such as timely notifications, full media access, and the fluidity users have come to expect from native apps.
The pressure to develop an iPad app only intensified over the years, with user requests appearing daily on forums like Reddit and Twitter (now X). In 2022, WhatsApp head Will Cathcart publicly acknowledged the demand and expressed a strong interest in bringing the service to iPadOS. A beta version of the app surfaced in 2023, but no release followed&mdash;until now. Just days before the launch, WhatsApp&rsquo;s official X account responded to a user&rsquo;s post asking for an iPad app with a cryptic &ldquo;eye emoji&rdquo;, hinting at what was to come. Today, that promise has finally materialised.

Familiar Functionality with a Tablet-Optimised Experience

WhatsApp for iPad brings all the features users already know and love from the iPhone version, now tailored for the iPad&rsquo;s larger display. This includes voice and video calls for up to 32 participants, the ability to share screens, and support for both front and rear cameras. These features are further enhanced by iPad-exclusive tools such as Center Stage, Studio Light, Reactions, and background effects&mdash;making calls not just functional but visually engaging.
The app's interface has been redesigned to make use of the iPad&rsquo;s screen real estate. A split-view layout displays your contact list on the left and conversations on the right, providing a more desktop-like experience. Navigation is intuitive, with tabs at the bottom for Updates, Calls, Communities, Chats, and Settings. Voice message transcription is also supported, allowing users to read audio messages&mdash;an invaluable feature in noisy environments or professional settings.
You can also view disappearing &ldquo;view-once&rdquo; media, a feature that was previously inaccessible on web-based versions used on iPads.

Malaysia is once again celebrating a landmark moment in badminton history as national shuttlers Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani officially become the world's top-ranked men&rsquo;s doubles pair, according to the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released on 27 May 2025. This milestone marks the first time a Malaysian men's doubles duo has ascended to the coveted No.1 position in nearly a decade.
A Return to the Summit After Almost a Decade
Goh and Nur, known affectionately by fans as FeiDin, now sit atop the global rankings with 91,090 points, surpassing Denmark&rsquo;s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who dropped to second place after failing to defend their title at the recently concluded Malaysia Masters. The Danes were dethroned following their semi-final loss to fellow Malaysians Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.

Although Goh and Nur themselves bowed out in the quarter-finals of the same tournament after losing to another Malaysian pair, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun, their consistent performances over the past year were enough to push them into the top spot. Their victory at the India Open in January 2025 was a pivotal moment, bolstering their climb after strong showings in 2024, which included titles at the Japan Open, China Open, and Arctic Open, as well as runner-up finishes at the BWF World Tour Finals and the Asian Championships.
This achievement makes Goh and Nur the first Malaysian men's doubles team to reach the world No.1 ranking since Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong in March 2016. They also join a legendary group of Malaysian shuttlers who once held the same honour, including the Sidek brothers (Razif and Jalani), Cheah Soon Kit-Yap Kim Hock, and Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong.
Notably, this also marks the first time any Malaysian badminton player has reached world No.1 since singles icon Lee Chong Wei last held the spot in June 2017.
Staying on Top: The Challenge Ahead

While the pair have every reason to celebrate, former world No.1 Datuk Razif Sidek offered a word of caution. Speaking to local media, Razif praised the pair's success but reminded them that staying at the top is significantly harder than reaching it.
&ldquo;Congratulations to them &ndash; this is a fantastic achievement. But they must not get complacent. When you&rsquo;re number one, everyone is watching and targeting you. The pressure will be immense,&rdquo; he said.
Razif emphasised that without consistent performance and proper preparation, the pair risks losing their hard-earned position. &ldquo;Being on top must be motivation, not a destination. They must continue to train hard and think like champions if they are to remain at the peak,&rdquo; he added.
Spotlight on the Singapore Open

Goh and Nur's reign could face an immediate challenge at the Singapore Open, which runs from 27 May to 1 June. In the first round, they will take on Taiwan&rsquo;s Lee Fang Chih and Lee Fang Jen. The Malaysians must reach at least the final to maintain their position. Should the Danish pair win the tournament and Goh-Nur exit early, the No.1 ranking could be lost as quickly as it was earned.
That said, the Danes have semi-final points from last year&rsquo;s Singapore Open to defend, while Goh and Nur could widen their lead by as much as 4,000 points if they reach the last four and Astrup-Rasmussen fall short in the quarters.
Rising Malaysian Forces in Men&rsquo;s Doubles
