One fan shared her frustrations, stating she joined the queue at 3.30pm and stayed online for hours without success. &ldquo;It felt impossible. I waited and refreshed but the page wouldn&rsquo;t load properly. How are we expected to compete when the system itself doesn&rsquo;t work for us?&rdquo; she said. Despite this, she vowed to keep trying, highlighting the unwavering dedication of Malaysian VIPs.
&ldquo;Bypassed&rdquo; and Blocked &ndash; Fans Cry Foul Over Alleged Overseas Abuse

Beyond technical issues, a deeper controversy soon emerged. Many believe bots were employed to snatch tickets en masse before local fans even had a fair chance.
A particularly emotional Instagram message to G-Dragon went viral, with a fan detailing the experience and expressing heartbreak. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s shocking and deeply disappointing. How can something like this happen? These were not sold by fair means,&rdquo; they wrote, directly calling out the organiser, Star Planet Malaysia, for their apparent failure to prevent bot infiltration.
Others chimed in online, echoing accusations that the organiser had enabled a system that left genuine fans out in the cold. Some went as far as to suggest insider sales or pre-arranged allocations, pointing to how quickly premium tickets were gone &ndash; and how immediately they popped up on resale platforms.

It didn&rsquo;t take long for social media to be flooded with listings from scalpers offering tickets at eye-watering prices. While official tickets were priced as high as RM999, resale prices surged to RM3,000 or more &mdash; with screenshots showing some scalpers demanding an additional RM900 &ldquo;top-up&rdquo; with no room for negotiation.
One viral post on X (formerly Twitter) showed a conversation where a ticket reseller openly admitted to using a &ldquo;bypass&rdquo; method to access the site ahead of everyone else. &ldquo;Cut the queue &mdash; skipped the stick man in the waiting list. Meaning, they didn&rsquo;t queue at all. Just went straight into the website and checked out,&rdquo; the fan explained, referencing the visual queue interface used during the sale.

These posts were accompanied by comments from outraged fans sharing similar experiences and warning others against trusting third-party sellers, especially on unverified platforms like Viagogo, where scams are not uncommon.
Organiser Silent as Fans Demand Accountability
At the time of writing, Star Planet Malaysia has not issued any official response to the ticketing backlash. The silence has only fuelled further outrage from Malaysian VIPs, many of whom have supported G-Dragon and BIGBANG for years and feel betrayed by the lack of fairness and transparency in the process.
Fans have called on the organiser to immediately investigate the situation and take action against scalpers, bots, and bypass users. Some are also urging G-Dragon&rsquo;s management and tour team to take notice and reconsider how ticketing for future stops is handled.
Calls for Reform in Malaysia&rsquo;s Concert Ticketing
As complaints poured in, a larger conversation has reignited around Malaysia&rsquo;s lack of regulation against ticket scalping and bot abuse. A Freak Accident on the Way to Work

Parents nearby helped carry her to the car, and her fianc&eacute; rushed her to a nearby clinic. The injury was so severe that a specialist later confirmed it required immediate surgery the very next day. Her X-ray showed seven fractures in her foot, including an avulsed peroneal tendon &mdash; a serious and painful injury.
Two Months of Recovery &ndash; And a PERKESO Lifeline

She was placed on two months&rsquo; medical leave and had to use a wheelchair and crutches during her recovery. Knowing she contributed to PERKESO via salary deductions, she investigated whether she qualified for the Temporary Disablement Benefit &mdash; and found that she did.
Crucially, PERKESO confirmed her eligibility despite the accident occurring while dropping her child at school and not yet being at her workplace. As it was part of her regular route to work, it counted as a valid commuting injury under PERKESO guidelines.
PERKESO then contacted her to verify her story. When asked why she didn&rsquo;t use public transport, she explained that as a single mother living in Bukit Damansara, owning a car was a necessity due to poor public transport access in her area.
Her claim was approved just four days after submitting the required documents.
Quick and Efficient Processing

She submitted her application at the PERKESO Jalan Tun Razak branch. Within five minutes, her number was called. The entire submission process took under 10 minutes.
The next day, she received a phone call for follow-up. By 13 June, the funds were deposited into her account. Her experience was so smooth that she praised PERKESO for their efficiency and even encouraged others to make use of their entitlements.
&ldquo;Thank you, PERKESO, for making things easier for this single mum,&rdquo; she said emotionally.
What Is Temporary Disablement Benefit?

According to PERKESO&rsquo;s official site, the Temporary Disablement Benefit (HUS) provides daily income support of 80% of your average assumed daily wage. The payout ranges from a minimum of RM30 to a maximum of RM158.67 per day. You must receive medical leave of at least four days (including the day of the accident) to be eligible.
This benefit is part of PERKESO&rsquo;s broader Employment Injury Scheme, which also includes:

Importantly, she reminded others that all claims must be submitted within three months of the incident. Claims made after that period will not be entertained, regardless of the reason.

Donald Trump&rsquo;s latest venture has sparked controversy once again &mdash; but this time, it&rsquo;s not politics, real estate, or golf courses. The former US President has officially entered the mobile phone and telco business through Trump Mobile, a newly launched MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) offering its own branded device &mdash; the gold-trimmed T1 Phone &mdash; and a 5G wireless subscription dubbed The 47 Plan.
A Telco Venture Built on Branding

Trump Mobile, operating as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), leases bandwidth from major US carriers such as Verizon, AT&amp;T, and T-Mobile, rather than owning its own infrastructure. In other words, it resells existing mobile network capacity under a Trump-branded label &mdash; a business model seen with other celebrity ventures like Ryan Reynolds' Mint Mobile.
The service, priced at US$47.45/month (~RM201), offers unlimited calls, texts, and data &mdash; including international texting to 100 countries &mdash; alongside fringe benefits like 24/7 telemedicine, roadside assistance, and call centres based in the United States. The plan&rsquo;s name is a nod to Trump&rsquo;s tenure as both the 45th and current 47th President of the United States.
However, despite the heavy branding, the Trump Organisation has quietly distanced itself from direct involvement in the technical operations. According to the fine print on the Trump Mobile website, its products and services are &ldquo;not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold&rdquo; by The Trump Organisation or its affiliates. Instead, the Trump name is licensed under DTTM Corporation &mdash; a pattern familiar from previous ventures like Trump Steaks and Trump University.
The T1 Phone: Flashy Exterior, Familiar Core

Marketed as &ldquo;proudly designed and built in the United States&rdquo;, the phone boasts a gold-coloured chassis, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, AI Face Unlock, under-display fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 20W charging.
Yet, experts quickly raised red flags. Not only is the phone missing key specifications, such as the processor or RAM details, but the memory and storage categories appear mislabelled &mdash; with &ldquo;12GB Storage&rdquo; under Processor, and &ldquo;256GB Memory&rdquo; listed elsewhere. The device also features a triple camera setup (50MP + 2MP + 2MP) and a 16MP front camera, USB-C 2.0, and even a rare 3.5mm headphone jack.

Despite patriotic marketing, multiple analysts believe the device is simply a rebranded Chinese Android phone. Tech sleuths identified it as a customised version of the T-Mobile REVVL 7 Pro 5G, which is manufactured by Chinese firm Wingtech, now owned by Luxshare, and sold online for as little as US$169 (~RM718).
Made in America? Not Quite

Though Trump Mobile claims the phone is built in the US, analysts and tech experts have called this highly improbable. Counterpoint Research&rsquo;s Blake Przesmicki wrote that &ldquo;despite being advertised as an American-made phone, it is likely that this device will be initially produced by a Chinese ODM (original design manufacturer).&rdquo;
In a CNBC interview, The Verge editor-in-chief Nilay Patel said bluntly: &ldquo;The only phone you could get for $499 by September is undoubtedly a rebranded Chinese Android phone.&rdquo;
Even Trump&rsquo;s own family seems unsure. Eric Trump stated in a podcast that the phones would &ldquo;eventually&rdquo; be made in the US &mdash; a claim met with widespread scepticism. A Trump Organisation spokesperson told The Wall Street Journal that manufacturing would take place in Alabama, California, and Florida, yet provided no evidence or contracts to back this claim.
Infrastructure Reality Check
Experts agree that full-scale smartphone production in the US is not currently feasible. As Tinglong Dai of Johns Hopkins University explained, &ldquo;There&rsquo;s absolutely no way you could make the screen, get that memory, camera, battery, everything&rdquo; in the US by this fall. The only partial exception is the Librem 5 USA from Purism &mdash; a phone that costs US$1,599 (~RM 6,795), lacks 5G or OLED displays, and is only partially assembled in the US.
Even Trump Mobile&rsquo;s promotional push underlines the contradiction: on one hand, the company boasts &ldquo;Made in USA&rdquo; branding, while on the other, the Trump Mobile website distances itself from actual design or manufacturing responsibilities.
The MVNO Gamble

Analyst Michael Ashley Schulman noted that unless Trump Mobile surpasses one million subscribers, its financial impact would be negligible, especially when compared to mainstream carriers or more affordable MVNOs like Mint Mobile.
The T1 Phone&rsquo;s $499 price tag also makes it less competitive against similarly spec&rsquo;d budget phones, especially when the same hardware appears on Amazon for a third of the price, albeit without Trump&rsquo;s gold branding.
Politics, Profit, and Potential Pitfalls
Critics argue that this is yet another example of Trump using the presidency to enrich his brand. Harvard law professor Lawrence Lessig noted, &ldquo;President Trump considers the presidency a vehicle to grow his family&rsquo;s wealth. YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy Moved To High-Security Jail In Philippines Amid Legal Fallout Over Pranks

The wait is finally over &mdash; after months of anticipation, Malaysian EXO-Ls can now secure their tickets to see Baekhyun live in concert. The acclaimed vocalist is bringing his 2025 BAEKHYUN WORLD TOUR: Reverie to Kuala Lumpur this August, marking a momentous milestone in his solo career and an unforgettable occasion for K-pop fans across the country.
Who Is Baekhyun?

Byun Baekhyun is no stranger to the spotlight. Known for his mesmerising vocals, versatile artistry and magnetic stage presence, Baekhyun has spent over a decade building a legacy in the global music scene. He debuted in 2012 as a member of EXO, one of K-pop&rsquo;s most successful groups, and quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his distinctive voice and charismatic performances. He also performed as part of the sub-units EXO-CBX and EXO-K, and led the K-pop supergroup SuperM.
Baekhyun launched his solo career in 2019 with the mini album City Lights, which sold over 550,000 copies, becoming South Korea&rsquo;s best-selling solo album of that year. His next releases, Delight (2020) and Bambi (2021), both achieved million-seller status &mdash; with Delight being the first album by a South Korean soloist in nearly two decades to cross the million mark.

His global influence soared further with the release of Hello, World in 2024, which topped international charts and became the best-selling solo album by a K-pop artist that year with 1.4 million units sold. Baekhyun has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including three consecutive Mnet Asian Music Awards for Best Male Artist from 2019 to 2021, as well as honours from the Golden Disc Awards, Melon Music Awards, and Seoul Music Awards.
In 2023, he founded his own independent label, INB100, to gain greater creative freedom, while continuing his group activities with EXO under SM Entertainment. He also made waves in the acting world, starring in the hit historical drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016), for which he won the SBS Drama Awards&rsquo; New Star Award.

Titled Reverie, Baekhyun&rsquo;s 2025 world tour marks a major turning point in his solo career. More than just a concert series, Reverie is a celebration of music, memories, and personal connection.
