It seems like politicians can never learn huh?
Sometimes, we can&rsquo;t help that the fact that we have a boundary of people of different incomes and due to that, we have the super-rich and then the super poor who are homeless.
Two assemblymen in Kelantan had used the word &ldquo;gila&rdquo; (crazy) to describe people with mental illness and homeless people during the state legislative assembly on the 25th of August.

Alwi Che Ahmad had asked how homeless orang gila (crazy people) were not infected with Covid-19 despite not following SOP procedures (Now that he mention that, kind of odd don&rsquo;t you think?). Meanwhile Izani Husin had said people with mental illnesses who are also homeless may have more resistance to diseases and antibodies than others.
"Where we can be resistant to three things (diseases), they are resistant to 50," Izani, who is also Kelantan Local Government, Housing, and Health Committee chairperson, said.
"Because they are always in a dirty state, Allah allows the body to create antibodies to fight the thing (germs)."

"They (intellectually disabled) are often (exposed) to these conditions. (For example), if we eat something contaminated, it will affect our stomach. But they do not (get sick)," he said in a post by Malaysia Kini.
If this wasn&rsquo;t triggering enough, guess what? Izani Husin is actually a University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) graduate in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
He had mentioned that there are many illnesses which can be deemed as &ldquo;gila&rdquo;. Few of which are depression, bipolar, affective disorder and many others. Additionally, psychotic disorder is also one of the conditions that people call &ldquo;gila&rdquo;.
Well, this part of the statement I would agree. Perhaps the mention of the word gila would be the wrong terminology for it.

Meanwhile, Izani says that only 30 out of 44,003 (0.07%) of respondents in a survey on Kelantanese mental health levels need to be refereed to psychiatry experts during this pandemic.
&nbsp;Many had criticised them on how they described people with mental illness
A group of fighters for quality and fairness for people with mental illness called Kolektif SUIMAN had demanded proof for the statement made during the legislative assembly session.
The group has also criticised Alwi Che Ahmad as the term &ldquo;orang gila&rdquo; is more of a slur than a medical diagnosis and had also stating &ldquo;how shallow you are&rdquo;.

However, the act that made headlines was when two students set fire to a large placard bearing Anwar&rsquo;s caricature and the words: &ldquo;MADANI: Protector of Sabah corruption.&rdquo; The imagery and bold message sparked both condemnation and debate.

In his statement, Fadhil invoked the legacy of Anwar Ibrahim himself &mdash; who, as a student leader in the 1970s, led similar acts of protest. He pointed to Anwar&rsquo;s involvement in burning a copy of 13 Mei, a book by Malaysia&rsquo;s first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, during a student demonstration over perceived injustices.

Just as he once burned a book he believed undermined the truth, we burned his caricature to highlight betrayal and hypocrisy,&rdquo; Fadhil wrote. &ldquo;I&rsquo;d like to think Anwar, upon seeing the video, would be reminded of who he once was.&rdquo;
He also added that the outrage from Anwar's loyalists &mdash; including youth groups such as ABIM and AMK &mdash; missed the point, as they were more concerned with optics and reverence than the actual issues being raised.
UMS: Burning Was &lsquo;Immature and Uncivilised&rsquo;

He confirmed that 13 students had been identified as participants in the protest, and two were directly involved in burning the caricature. The university indicated that disciplinary proceedings were being considered under the Universities and University Colleges Act (AUKU). A committee of academics would be established to review the matter and determine appropriate action, including possible suspension or expulsion.
Despite the criticism, the protest&rsquo;s central message appears to have struck a chord with many Malaysians disillusioned by the slow pace of anti-corruption efforts, particularly in East Malaysia.

Instead, the high-profile couple is accused of transferring the RM8 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd into a separate entity they also owned &mdash; 30 Maple Sdn Bhd &mdash; without obtaining approval from FashionValet&rsquo;s board of directors. The alleged financial misconduct is said to have taken place on 21 August 2018 at Public Bank&rsquo;s Bukit Damansara branch in Kuala Lumpur.
Trial Dates Set for 2026

Vivy and Fadzarudin, both aged 37, were not present during the recent case management hearing on 23 June 2025, as their legal counsel had secured an exemption from court attendance. The couple continues to be represented by lawyer M. Athimulan.
Pleading Not Guilty to CBT and Alternative Charge

Additionally, the couple faces an alternative charge under Section 403, also read with Section 34, for dishonestly misappropriating property belonging to the company. This charge carries a lighter penalty &mdash; a prison term ranging from six months to five years, and may also include caning and a fine upon conviction.
Both Vivy and Fadzarudin have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Controversy Surrounding Internal Acquisition
