<p>A 73-year-old man involved in an altercation at a coffee shop along Singapore&rsquo;s East Coast Road has finally agreed to seek medical attention after being shoved to the ground following an interaction with a young girl.</p>
<p>Yeo Song Khoon, who has run the Bei-Ing Wanton Noodle stall at the Roxy Square coffee shop for more than 40 years, was seen in a wheelchair and hospital gown in an Instagram Story posted by his family on Aug 17.</p>
<p>His family said they were relieved that Yeo had finally agreed to visit the hospital, adding that his health remained their top priority.</p>
<p><strong>Yeo Agrees To Go To Hospital For Check-Up</strong></p>
<p>Yeo had initially been reluctant to seek medical treatment despite experiencing back pain after the incident.</p>
<p>His family said he had previously been hesitant about going to hospital, while Yeo himself had said he would monitor his condition and consider visiting a traditional Chinese medicine clinic.</p>
<p>However, after several days, he eventually agreed to undergo a medical check-up.</p>
<p>The family expressed their relief in an Instagram Story, thanking members of the public for checking in on Yeo and showing their concern.</p>
<p>The Bei-Ing Wanton Noodle stall at Roxy Square will also remain closed until Aug 20.</p>
<p><strong>Elderly Man Was Shoved After Patting Girl On The Head</strong></p>

<p>The incident took place at around 4.40pm on Aug 15 at the coffee shop located at 50 East Coast Road.</p>
<p>CCTV footage shared by Yeo&rsquo;s family showed him walking slowly through the coffee shop while using nearby tables for support due to an existing leg injury. As he passed a table where a young girl was seated with her family, Yeo reached out and briefly patted the girl on the head. The girl's mother appeared to try to stop him, after which the girl's father approached Yeo and confronted him.</p>
<p>According to the footage and accounts shared by Yeo's family, the confrontation became physical, with the younger man grabbing Yeo and shoving him to the ground. Other patrons subsequently helped the elderly man back to his feet.</p>
<p>Yeo later said he had patted the girl's head because he thought she was "very adorable".</p>
<p><strong>Yeo Says He Does Not Want To Cause Trouble</strong></p>

<p>Despite the incident, Yeo has repeatedly said that he does not want to pursue the matter further.</p>
<p>Speaking to 8world, he said he was willing to let the matter go after the girl's father apologised and offered to buy him a drink.</p>
<p>Yeo's family said he had told them he was fine and did not want to cause additional trouble.</p>
<p>However, Yeo reportedly began experiencing back pain around two to three hours after the fall. While painkillers initially helped manage the discomfort, his family later encouraged him to seek proper medical attention.</p>
<p><strong>Police Identify 40-Year-Old Man</strong></p>

<p>The Singapore Police Force has confirmed that a police report was lodged over the incident.</p>
<p>Police said a 40-year-old man has been identified in connection with the case and that investigations are ongoing.</p>
<p>Members of the public have also been urged not to speculate about the circumstances surrounding the incident and to allow the police to establish the facts.</p>
<p>Yeo's family had previously clarified that they were not seeking to encourage harassment or confrontation, but wanted the incident to be properly addressed.</p>

<p>The incident also attracted widespread attention online, with members of the public and several local personalities expressing concern for Yeo.</p>
<p>Actor Noah Yap, best known for the <em>Ah Boys to Men</em> film series, visited Yeo at the stall on Aug 16. Yap said he has known Yeo for more than 20 years through his visits to the wanton noodle stall.</p>
<p>According to Yap, Yeo was in good spirits and remained his usual cheerful self despite the incident.</p>
<p>Yap also urged Yeo to see a doctor and criticised the use of violence during the confrontation.</p>
<p>"Violence is never the answer to anything," Yap said, while calling for greater kindness within the community.</p>
<p>Other public figures, including actor Romeo Tan, presenter Jade Seah and DJ Glenn Ong, also reacted to the incident online.</p>
<p><strong>Stall Closed Temporarily As Family Prioritises Yeo's Health</strong></p>
<p>With Yeo now receiving medical attention, his family said his health remains their main concern.</p>
<p>The Bei-Ing Wanton Noodle outlet at Roxy Square is expected to remain closed until Aug 20 as the family deals with the aftermath of the incident.</p>
<p>Yeo, meanwhile, has continued to receive messages of support from customers and members of the public who have known him through his decades of running the wanton noodle stall.</p>
<p>While Yeo himself has expressed a willingness to let the matter go, police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.</p>
