It seems like anti-vaxxers are really making things difficult huh?
We are in the position where most states will be moving into Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). As most of you would know by now, the vaccination has really helped in decreasing the number of Covid-19 cases all around, but the vaccination is not mandatory in Malaysia.

Regardless of how it has helped us to decrease the numbers, there are still those out there not wanting to believe and refuse to take the vaccines. Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had stated that those who refused to take the vaccine will find their lives to be more difficult.
"We may not implement a federal law to make it compulsory to vaccinate nationally but I encourage for a sectoral law. Perhaps it may sound a little bit crude, but our approach is to 'make life difficult' for those who choose not to vaccinate (against COVID-19)," said Khairy.
"If you cannot be vaccinated on health grounds, that's fine and we will give (digital) exemption through MySejahtera. But if you don't vaccinate yourself by choice, we will continue to make life difficult for you."

A clear message was given: Get vaccinated!
For those who don&rsquo;t get vaccinated, they won&rsquo;t be allowed to dine in restaurants or even enter shopping malls. If one were to resist getting vaccinated, then they&rsquo;ll have to pay for the regular Covid-19 test. Hey anti-vaxxers, it&rsquo;s free to get vaccinated but it pays to get tested, think of the money you can save if you did get vaccinated. 
The government will be implementing more restrictions to those who refuse to be vaccinated.

Khairy will be releasing the national testing strategy next week and in the plan, those unvaccinated will need to pay for their weekly self-test as they will also map out the procedures.
This warning was issued a day after Khairy had called upon the PDRM and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to speed up investigations against these groups of people.
Just last week, Khairy called out a Twitter account for <a href="https://myc.com.my/articles/561/vaccines-khairy-calls-out-local-anti-vaxxers-over-false-claims">spreading false claims</a> on the vaccination programme and also lodging several police reports against these groups.

Meanwhile, for those who want to perform the Haj next year, the same conditions will likely be imposed.
"The Public Service Department has issued instructions to civil servants to take the vaccine otherwise action will be taken. MINDEF (the Ministry of Defence)... has issued a directive that whoever (military personnel) does not take the vaccine is considered to be violating MINDEF's directive, so this gives a picture that it is obligatory," he said, adding that stern action should be taken against anti-vaccine groups.

He became agitated when she self-harmed without his prompting, as it meant he couldn't witness or control the act.
In one especially harrowing incident on 2 July 2024, Webb persuaded her to attempt suicide via a 44-minute video call. She passed out during the attempt, but survived. Upon regaining consciousness, Webb coldly instructed her to try again.

"There will never be another second on this Earth where I don't have to live with the pain of what happened."

Alex Johnson, from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), called it a "watershed prosecution" and warned that others have already been charged under the same law. He praised the victim's bravery, adding:
"If she had not come forward, Webb would have remained at liberty and free to target other vulnerable people online."
During sentencing at Leicester Crown Court on 4 July 2025, Webb appeared visibly distressed, at one point lying on the floor as a coping mechanism. His defence counsel, Joey Kwong, revealed that Webb had long suffered from autism spectrum disorder, borderline personality disorder, and depression.
Despite these conditions, the court was clear that his actions were deliberate and dangerous. The judge concluded that Webb was manipulative, sexually motivated, and posed a significant risk to others. He will remain in a mental health facility until deemed fit for release, at which point he will serve the rest of his sentence in prison.

The staff promptly provided oxygen support, and to the mother&rsquo;s relief, Natashya&rsquo;s condition began to improve &mdash; her breathing steadied, and colour slowly returned to her lips.

Recognising the seriousness of the situation, the flight crew made a public announcement asking if there was a doctor onboard. Thankfully, a passenger with medical expertise responded and assisted in monitoring Natashya&rsquo;s vital signs.
Simultaneously, the crew communicated with the flight deck, and the pilot made the decision to lower the aircraft&rsquo;s altitude to aid the baby&rsquo;s breathing. Despite the baby stabilising, the captain opted to divert the flight to Ho Chi Minh City for urgent medical intervention.
