Man of hip hop genre and culture, Ye (previously known as Kanye Omari West), filed a petition to change his name in August and he received approval upon his request on 18 October 2021 recently by judge Michelle Williams in a California court house, according to Amy Woodyatt, CNN reporter.
This 44-year-old rapper demanded that the name change request is due to &ldquo;personal reasons&rdquo;.
The reason he is now Ye would hint to few recent big shifts in his life: His wife (television personality <a style="color: #3598db;" href="https://www.instagram.com/kimkardashian/">Kim Kardashian West</a>) filed for divorce back earlier this year after the couple, who share four young children, had reportedly been living separately for quite a time.
Who would have seen this coming, back in 2018 Ye had already left some clues when he released his studio album &ldquo;Ye&rdquo;, and several months after that he tweeted: &ldquo;the being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.&rdquo;

Another devastating action made by Israeli police continued to fuel the rage of many countries towards their action in destroying the home of a Palestinian family and arrested at least 18 people as they carried out a controversial eviction order in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah early Wednesday, Jan 19.
That was not the first time. Israel has caught global attention since the looming eviction of other families from Sheikh Jarrah in May last year fuelled an 11-day war between Israel and armed Palestinian factions in Gaza.
Which part that they do not understand about human rights in the very first place? Do not understand or refuse to?
"Israel police completed the execution of an eviction order of illegal buildings built on grounds designated for a school for children with special needs from east Jerusalem," a police statement said.
It said "members of the family living in the illegal buildings were given countless opportunities to hand over the land with consent".
An AFP photographer witnessed the demolition of the house.
What was happening exactly?
According to a police spokeswoman, 18 family members and supporters were detained for "violating a court order, violent fortification, and disrupting public order," although no conflicts occurred during the eviction.
The Salhiya family has been facing the threat of eviction from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem since 2017 when the land where their home sits was allocated for school construction.
When police arrived on Monday to carry out the order, Salhiya family members walked up to the building's roof with gas canisters, threatening to set fire to the contents and themselves if they were forced out.
A delegation of European diplomats also visited the site. Sven Kuehn von Burgsdorff, head of the European Union's mission to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, told the press on Monday that "in occupied territory, evictions are a violation of international humanitarian law".
The police had eventually backed off.
The lawyer for the Salhiya family stated the demolition carried out early Wednesday was "illegal," because the municipality had gotten approval from the court to remove but not destroy the property.
"The eviction ruling is only for Mahmud Salhiya and his wife, not the rest of the family," attorney Walid said while noting a court hearing on Jan 23 upon the issue.
Human Rights Watch Israel and Palestine director Omar Shakir called the eviction &ldquo;cruel&rdquo; and stressed that the Salhiya family had previously been forced from their west Jerusalem home during Israel&rsquo;s creation in 1948.
Wednesday&rsquo;s eviction made them &ldquo;two-time refugees&rdquo;, Burgsdorff said.

Hundreds of Palestinians face eviction from homes in Sheikh Jarrah and other east Jerusalem neighbourhoods. Circumstances surrounding the eviction threats vary.
In some cases, Jewish Israelis have lodged legal claims to plots they say were illegally taken during the war that accompanied Israel's creation in 1948.
Palestinians say their homes were legally purchased from Jordanian authorities who controlled East Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967.
Israel captured east Jerusalem in the Six-Day War of 1967 and later annexed it in a move not recognized by the international community.
More than 200,000 Jewish settlers have since moved into the city's eastern sector, fuelling tensions with Palestinians, who claim it as the capital of their future state.

Israel Police Continue To Destroy Palestinian Homes In East Jerusalem Eviction

Recently, we have been acknowledged by the Health Ministry's conditional approval of Pfizer-BioNTech's Comirnaty vaccine for children last week along with the update on MySejahtera apps that allows parents to sign up their children aged five to 11-year-old for the COVID-19 vaccination on their MySejahtera app as vaccine dependents.

Starting February, the government will start its mission to reach herd immunity as children aged between 5 to 11-year-old will receive their COVID-19 vaccine.
The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV), through a tweet, said children will only receive paediatric doses of Pfizer-BioNTech's Cominarty vaccine which is proven to be safe and effective.
Paediatric dose?
Since children's immune system does not run like the elders, medical experts suggested for this age group for paediatric dose which refers to a smaller dose of the vaccine.
It is equivalent to one-third of the dosage given to individuals aged 12 and above.
JKJAV clarified that clinical trials found that the risk of symptomatic Covid-19 infection in vaccinated children is reduced by 90%.
As proper research has been carried out, parents should be at ease because common post-vaccination side effects in children are mild and moderate which severe adverse reactions are hard to occur.
JKJAV said children with comorbidities or those at high risk of contracting severe Covid-19 infections will be prioritised for vaccination.
Is there any exception for children getting vaccinated?
To some extent, yes.

An exception would be entitled to children who have a history of severe allergies (anaphylaxis) against medicines, food, or unknown ingredients.
Similarly, children who experience allergic reactions&nbsp;within 72 hours of getting their first dose, or who have reactions to any of the Covid-19 vaccine's ingredients, will not be offered a second dose.
The Drug Control Authority on Jan 6 granted conditional approval for the Cominarty vaccine to be used on children aged between 5 and 11.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin further stated that the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force-Children (CITF-C) has been established to monitor the Covid-19 immunisation programme for children.
Vaccination is to protect us and our loved ones as the vaccines contain weakened or inactive parts of a particular organism (antigen) that triggers an immune response within the body and nothing about microchips or political agenda is involved.

If it&rsquo;s one thing all Malaysian&rsquo;s know is that our neighbours at East Malaysia is truly still underdeveloped. This is due to the mass size of Sabah and Sarawak as they are still very much surrounded by jungles all around them with almost no proper access roads to the villages.
In fact, many of the villages rely on the off-road tracks or even rivers to get around as that&rsquo;s the quickest way around. It&rsquo;s been a common sight that school kids from these villages had to traverse a rickety bridge to get to school daily.

Seeing poor infrastructures like this has got many Malaysians mad and now another post had caught the attention of Malaysians.

The images show students from Kampung Pituru and TImbang Taun in Sabah all cramped into a small boat as they make their journey to school. Unfortunately, it&rsquo;s still common in East Malaysia that kids go through dangerous ways just to attend school.
The kids were not just cramped onto the boat but were also lacking in proper safety equipment such as life jackets all this time when taking the boat to school.
No authority had taken ay action against this yet and this netizen figured it&rsquo;d be best to make this as a viral post online. At the time of writing this, the post had gained 4.7K retweets and many had voiced out their disappointment.
The fact that the student&rsquo;s safety is blatantly ignored, and people always wonder why does it take a viral post for authorities to take action?

Funds for bigger boats and life jackets are in the process
Harun Durabi who&rsquo;s the Deputy Rural Minister for Sabah says that he&rsquo;s working on securing more funds for bigger boats and lifejackets after noting about the viral tweet. He also said that he&rsquo;ll be visiting them soon and will get the exact number of safety jackets for the school children.
One thing Malaysians must know is that in the rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak, rivers play an integral role to connect the communities to the outside world since the villages are unreachable by road.
To think that we still have this kind of issue going on in East Malaysia is very sad. The fact that these kids risk it all to go to school for a proper education. Hopefully authorities will take action about this soon and not when a death is reported.

Sabah: Netizens Raise Concern Over Lack Of Lifejackets In Cramped 'School Boat'

The country keeps on recording its death toll due to COVID-19 to another 13 counts since last night, making the national death toll to 31,831.
According to the <a href="https://covidnow.moh.gov.my/deaths/">ministry's CovidNow portal</a>, data showed that there were no brought-in-dead (BID) (Brought-in-dead cases refer to cases of death that occurred outside the hospital involving COVID-19 patients who did not show any symptoms) cases reported yesterday, which means the BID death toll remains at 6,420 since early of Jan 16, 2022.

On the other hand, as mentioned on the GitHub website of the Ministry of Health (MOH), three states and federal territories, namely Penang, Sabah, and Kuala Lumpur each recorded two deaths while Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Selangor, each recorded one case of death due to COVID-19, yesterday.
Too real yet some still view this as a fictional dystopian.
In fact, a total of 41,129 active cases were admitted into the system yesterday with a number of 34, 253 cases are undergoing home quarantine; a total of 3,989 patients are currently receiving treatment at the COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC) and another 2,725 patients are still being treated at the hospital.

Meanwhile, a total of 264,635 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given yesterday, involving 258,337 third doses; 4,317 second doses, and 1,981 first doses.
Until yesterday, it has been calculated as much as 61,540,069 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given to the Malaysian population.
As stated by the system, 97.9 percent of the country's adult population has completed their vaccinations while 88.2 percent of the adolescent population between the ages of 12 to 17 have also been fully vaccinated. But with the recent vaccination scams going around in the country, the data might still need to reallocate.

COVID-19 Claims 13 More Malaysian Lives

Looks like the Malaysian sports scene had really taken a stir lately. First it started from Football, then <a href="https://myc.com.my/articles/858/nsc-axes-144-national-athletes-from-training-programme-due-to-lack-of-funds">NSC dropping 144 of our athletes</a> and now the Badminton scene a mess.
Our national badminton player Lee Zii Jia has officially left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)!
Initially it began as a rumour where BAM had denied the statement and claims that Zii Jia had been unaware of such whispers. At the time, many were relieved that he wasn&rsquo;t getting dropped but on 17 January, the rumour had returned, and tension built up as he refused to confirm or deny his future status with BAM.

The issue was brought up again after an Astro Arena journalist had visited the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) where she wanted to ask about BAM&rsquo;s future goals for tournaments. However, Syakirah Zulkifly was then told there were several meetings going on and one of them was with Zii Jia himself.
&ldquo;This was the first time (Zii Jia) met with BAM since the news broke a few weeks ago that Zii Jia intended to turn professional,&rdquo; said Syakirah. Additionally, there was an emergency meeting scheduled which involved council members from all states and Syakirah felt that it must have been &ldquo;something big&rdquo;.
Quite recently, Zii Jia had left his training to attend the meeting twice where one was alone and one was with his sister. Things were quoted to be tense in BAM after the meeting and the issues of the meeting were highlighted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Initially, Norza Zakaria, president of BAM, said that the meetings were to outline Zii Jia&rsquo;s 2022 season goals. In an interview with Zii Jia on 18 January, he did not deny the rumours of him leaving BAM.
&ldquo;I can tell (you) that I don&rsquo;t think it is my place to comment anything more about this. I feel that (if there&rsquo;s) any announcement, BAM will announce it. I will still focus on training to produce good results and make Malaysia proud.&rdquo;
He had also stated that he felt touch that he&rsquo;s compared to Datuk Lee Chong Wei, but he also says that what he&rsquo;s achieved and has is totally different than what he&rsquo;s (Zii Jia) done.

Admittingly, Wong Choon Han who&rsquo;s the Director of Coaching said that losing Zii Jia would be a BIG loss to BAM as they&rsquo;ll be losing their #1 player and they will have to rush to train up their other athletes.
BAM confirms Lee Zii Jia&rsquo;s exit
At 5:30pm on Wednesday (19 January 2022), Norza Zakaria confirmed that Zii Jia submitted his resignation letter. FMT reported that his decision to resign was due to him not being able to stand the pressure as he wanted to achieve his own dreams according to his own pace.
As of now, Zii Jia will begin his journey as a professional player and will be joined by fellow player Goh Jin Wei.
Netizens started blaming BAM
Ever since the retirement of Datuk Lee Chong Wei in 2019, many had slammed BAM on their actions to improve the squad. Many had also suggested that BAM should address the internal issues within the organization and at ministerial level before they think of the nation&rsquo;s progression in the sport.

Aside from the issue of looking for parking, we also have to agree that the fee for some locations have risen sharply and getting pretty expensive. But with all that aside, this netizen had everyone laughing after how much this woman was charged for parking.
The video was posted on TikTok and currently has 1.4 million views as of writing this showed user <a href="https://www.tiktok.com/@mummyjlo2">@mummyjlo2</a> walking up to her car showing the cost of her parking fee. The parking lot is believed to be located in Sentul.

According to the woman, she had only parked her vehicle in the parking lot for only an hour and approached the management office to clarify the issue. But hey guess what, she ended up arguing with them for over an hour on why her parking fee cost that much.
In fact, the signage had clearly stated that the parking fee is RM1 for the first hour and RM1 for every subsequent hour.

The staff on duty during that time thought the woman had left her vehicle at the parking lot for an extended period. They then resorted to looking at the CCTV footage to verify her claim.

After an hour, the woman finally managed to go out and was only required to pay RM3 for her parking fee.

Many had questioned where the parking lot was as people wanted to take note and ensure that others are more cautious on incidents like this. Someone even joked that the parking fee was inclusive of the Myvi&rsquo;s overdue loan fees.

Funny enough, when scrolling through the comments, someone had the idea of asking the woman to just drive through the barrier cause of the running joke that Myvi&rsquo;s can do anything.

I guess lessons should be learnt, don&rsquo;t ever park your car at 11:30pm (31/12/2021) and come out at 12:30am (1/12022). Ah yes the infamous &ldquo;You&rsquo;ve been parked for over a year&rdquo; joke.

Suria KLCC recently has been receiving backlashes from the netizens over a Chinese New Year decorative structure outside its mall, with several netizens commenting that it looks more like 'Qingming' than CNY itself.
The Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb Sweeping Festival or Cheng Beng observed by ethnic Chinese here.
The decorative pagoda-like structure built outside the mall stood tall over mallgoers, but netizens commented it was eerily similar to the prayer paraphernalia that was burned on Qingming.

In a post on Malaysia Shopping Mall, Facebook user Zi Shen said the popular shopping mall should have conducted more research and consulted members of the Chinese community before proceeding with the idea, describing it as &ldquo;truly ugly&rdquo;.
&ldquo;It doesn&rsquo;t bring any feeling of Chinese New Year, but more like Qingming.
&ldquo;Totally failed (concept). Please design this thing with a sincere heart and after sufficient research instead of doing this just to &lsquo;submit your homework&rsquo;,&rdquo; he said.
According to sources, Suria KLCC&rsquo;s spokesperson insisted to comment when approached for clarification. In a press statement, the pagoda is Malaysia's tallest replica, standing at 70-feet-tall and was brought back after being introduced in 2020. The structure will be available until 13 February.

&ldquo;Is Suria KLCC opening a branch in heaven?&rdquo; asked Facebook user Andrew Kit in jest.
Not only that, Anton Seng quipped that the decorative structure &ldquo;must have been sponsored by Nirvana&rdquo;, referring to the funeral services company.
Some netizens believed that the fundamental idea behind the structure was &lsquo;there&rsquo; however, lamented how it was terribly constructed indeed unacceptable.
&ldquo;At least craft the doors and windows properly,&rdquo; said one Facebook user.
Well, Suria KLCC might want to take this as a lesson in the future to make sure of their pagoda decoration suites to its celebration.
Good news for the netizens is that the inside decoration is not a fail one as the ancient Chinese theme palace was recreated with great attention paid to the finest details, including the placement of stone-carved imperial guardian lions, garden pavilions in traditional Chinese architecture, the lotus pond, beautiful hanging red lanterns, the iconic pink cherry blossoms, as well as the intricate landscaping to provide a backdrop for photos and videos.

Everybody knows how interesting science can be very interesting. But lately, China has really been pushing the boundaries of science. Apart from people blaming them for the whole Covid-19 fiasco&hellip; but you get what I mean.
Recently, a research facility in China had built an artificial moon which simulates the low-gravity environment on own earth.

This was inspired by an experiment of frogs levitating by using magnets which was done by Russian-born physicist and Nobel Prize winner Andre Geim.

The facility states that it can provide valuable research for China&rsquo;s lunar exploration activities in the future. The facility is located in the eastern city of Xuzhou in the Jiangsu province and the simulator will be launched in the coming months.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s the first of its kind in the world and it will take lunar simulation to a whole new level,&rdquo; said Li Ruilin who is the lead scientist from the China University of Mining and Technology.
According to him, the simulator can make gravity &ldquo;disappear&rdquo;. Most people are familiar with the low gravity which can be achieved in an aircraft or a drop tower but those are only temporary.

The best part of this facility is that the effect can &ldquo;last as long as you want&rdquo;!
How is something like this created?
According to the scientist, they have placed a vacuum chamber that houses a mini &ldquo;moon&rdquo; which measures 60cm (about 2 feet) in diameter. The artificial landscape is also made up of rocks and dust which are deemed as light as the ones on the moon.
For those who didn&rsquo;t know, the gravity on the moon is one-sixth as powerful as the gravity on earth therefore allowing objects in its surrounding to magnetise and levitate.
&ldquo;Some experiments such as an impact test need just a few seconds [in the simulator],&rdquo; said Li, from the university&rsquo;s state key laboratory for geomechanics and deep underground engineering. &ldquo;But others such as creep testing can take several days.&rdquo;

China seeks to take the lead in a new international space race with the United States which includes lunar exploration. Currently, China has a mission where their lunar rover is exploring the far side of the moon since 2019. Back in 2020, it had brought back samples from the moon which was the first time in 44 years since the United States did it.
China aims land astronauts on the moon by 2030 with a joint lunar research base with Russia wth the research station to be construction to start as soon as 2027. The facility is expected to play a role towards the future of building infrastructure on the moon as well said Li.
With the new simulator, many simulations can be tested with new technology such as 3D printing for building structures and even drilling simulations as scientist believe that the drill resistance on the moon could be much higher than predicted.

Li shares that the team will open facility for other scientist to come from around the world as it can benefit the study. He also expressed that they definitely welcome professor Geim to come and share great ideas with them.
Man, China is really stepping it up and making themselves as one of the benchmarks for science in the world. In fact, they even made an artificial sun in a research facility which can generate heat five times hotter than the sun.

China Builds An Artificial Moon Which Simulates Low-Gravity Conditions on Earth

Every gamer out there knows that a PC is one of the most superior gaming devices you can get your hands on. But there&rsquo;s the issue of portability as some people would like to bring their devices around and play hence a console would be better.

Sony had released the PlayStation 5 in November 2020 and it&rsquo;s no stranger that everyone wants to get their hands on it. If you were to go to any Sony store around Malaysia or even other stores around the world, it&rsquo;s likely that you&rsquo;ll need to pre-order the device and we wouldn&rsquo;t know how long it will take to even get our hands on it.
The demand is so high that Sony couldn&rsquo;t keep up with it and had also cut down their production estimates from 16 million units to 15 million units by March 2022 due to the global silicon shortage.
So, what&rsquo;s Sony&rsquo;s solution to the high demand?
Well, since most people can&rsquo;t get the PS5, they had decided to make more PlayStation 4 consoles instead to cater for the high demand.

According to Bloomberg, Sony had initially planned to end the production of the PS4 in 2021 but plans had changed. Sony says that manufacturing the PS4 would be better as they are still using older components which cost way less than the PS5. Plus, their parts are more readily available.
Sony believes that by continuing the production of the PS4, they can ease the demand for the PS5 and also give themselves some leeway to deal with their manufacturing partners.

As of now, Sony denies all plans on discontinuing the PS4 production. To date, the console is dubbed as one of the best-selling consoles ever. Sony Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said that they wanted to make the transition from the PS4 to the PS5 as quick as possible back in 2019 but due to the pandemic, their plans had to undergo some changes.
Currently the PS5 has announced a growing list of games which will be exclusive to the console with big titles which can run much better on the newer hardware. One prime example would be Cyberpunk 2077 which had a ton of issues running on the PS4 which included graphical glitches and bugs which completely ruined the experience for console gamers.

If one were to buy the new PS4 today, there&rsquo;s no answer if it will be able to support newer games beyond 2022. If you&rsquo;re overseas, you can opt out to get yourself an Xbox Series X and Series S but it&rsquo;s unavailable in Malaysia.

Xbox had announced that they will be discontinuing their Xbox One series which means many people would be flocking to get their hands on the consoles before another shortage happens.

Well then&hellip; Looks like it&rsquo;s going to be difficult for the die hard console gamers to get their hands on either consoles. And that is why I personally have opted to get a PC instead.
The only downside of a PC would be the cost of it as a graphics card alone can cost the same price if not more than the console itself. However, it&rsquo;s still something to consider if you would like higher quality graphics gaming.
