According to Berita Harian, a motorcyclist found his death before his workplace when he lost control over his vehicle along Antara Gapi junction in Hulu Selangor yesterday.
The victim is believed to be in his 20&rsquo;s died immediately at the scene, reported Hulu Selangor District Police Chief, Superintendent Arsad Kamaruddin.

&ldquo;Our authority (police) received the report regarding the incident around 8.10pm. From the investigation made, the accident happened when the victim was on his was heading towards to an automotive manufacturing factory, which is not far from the accident scene.
&ldquo;As the victim passed the road by the mentioned junction, he lost control over his Honda Dash motorcycle when he hit the bump on the road and caused him to fall directly towards the ground and injured badly. He unfortunately died on the spot at the scene,&rdquo; he explained in a statement today.
He then added, this case will be further investigated under Seksyen 41 (1) Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Another devastating action made by Israeli police continued to fuel the rage of many countries towards their action in destroying the home of a Palestinian family and arrested at least 18 people as they carried out a controversial eviction order in the East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah early Wednesday, Jan 19.
That was not the first time. Israel has caught global attention since the looming eviction of other families from Sheikh Jarrah in May last year fuelled an 11-day war between Israel and armed Palestinian factions in Gaza.
Which part that they do not understand about human rights in the very first place? Do not understand or refuse to?
"Israel police completed the execution of an eviction order of illegal buildings built on grounds designated for a school for children with special needs from east Jerusalem," a police statement said.
It said "members of the family living in the illegal buildings were given countless opportunities to hand over the land with consent".
An AFP photographer witnessed the demolition of the house.
What was happening exactly?
According to a police spokeswoman, 18 family members and supporters were detained for "violating a court order, violent fortification, and disrupting public order," although no conflicts occurred during the eviction.
The Salhiya family has been facing the threat of eviction from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem since 2017 when the land where their home sits was allocated for school construction.
When police arrived on Monday to carry out the order, Salhiya family members walked up to the building's roof with gas canisters, threatening to set fire to the contents and themselves if they were forced out.
A delegation of European diplomats also visited the site. Sven Kuehn von Burgsdorff, head of the European Union's mission to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, told the press on Monday that "in occupied territory, evictions are a violation of international humanitarian law".
The police had eventually backed off.
The lawyer for the Salhiya family stated the demolition carried out early Wednesday was "illegal," because the municipality had gotten approval from the court to remove but not destroy the property.
"The eviction ruling is only for Mahmud Salhiya and his wife, not the rest of the family," attorney Walid said while noting a court hearing on Jan 23 upon the issue.
Human Rights Watch Israel and Palestine director Omar Shakir called the eviction &ldquo;cruel&rdquo; and stressed that the Salhiya family had previously been forced from their west Jerusalem home during Israel&rsquo;s creation in 1948.
Wednesday&rsquo;s eviction made them &ldquo;two-time refugees&rdquo;, Burgsdorff said.

Hundreds of Palestinians face eviction from homes in Sheikh Jarrah and other east Jerusalem neighbourhoods. Circumstances surrounding the eviction threats vary.
In some cases, Jewish Israelis have lodged legal claims to plots they say were illegally taken during the war that accompanied Israel's creation in 1948.
Palestinians say their homes were legally purchased from Jordanian authorities who controlled East Jerusalem between 1948 and 1967.
Israel captured east Jerusalem in the Six-Day War of 1967 and later annexed it in a move not recognized by the international community.
More than 200,000 Jewish settlers have since moved into the city's eastern sector, fuelling tensions with Palestinians, who claim it as the capital of their future state.

Israel Police Continue To Destroy Palestinian Homes In East Jerusalem Eviction

Recently, we have been acknowledged by the Health Ministry's conditional approval of Pfizer-BioNTech's Comirnaty vaccine for children last week along with the update on MySejahtera apps that allows parents to sign up their children aged five to 11-year-old for the COVID-19 vaccination on their MySejahtera app as vaccine dependents.

Starting February, the government will start its mission to reach herd immunity as children aged between 5 to 11-year-old will receive their COVID-19 vaccine.
The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV), through a tweet, said children will only receive paediatric doses of Pfizer-BioNTech's Cominarty vaccine which is proven to be safe and effective.
Paediatric dose?
Since children's immune system does not run like the elders, medical experts suggested for this age group for paediatric dose which refers to a smaller dose of the vaccine.
It is equivalent to one-third of the dosage given to individuals aged 12 and above.
JKJAV clarified that clinical trials found that the risk of symptomatic Covid-19 infection in vaccinated children is reduced by 90%.
As proper research has been carried out, parents should be at ease because common post-vaccination side effects in children are mild and moderate which severe adverse reactions are hard to occur.
JKJAV said children with comorbidities or those at high risk of contracting severe Covid-19 infections will be prioritised for vaccination.
Is there any exception for children getting vaccinated?
To some extent, yes.

An exception would be entitled to children who have a history of severe allergies (anaphylaxis) against medicines, food, or unknown ingredients.
Similarly, children who experience allergic reactions&nbsp;within 72 hours of getting their first dose, or who have reactions to any of the Covid-19 vaccine's ingredients, will not be offered a second dose.
The Drug Control Authority on Jan 6 granted conditional approval for the Cominarty vaccine to be used on children aged between 5 and 11.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin further stated that the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force-Children (CITF-C) has been established to monitor the Covid-19 immunisation programme for children.
Vaccination is to protect us and our loved ones as the vaccines contain weakened or inactive parts of a particular organism (antigen) that triggers an immune response within the body and nothing about microchips or political agenda is involved.

If it&rsquo;s one thing all Malaysian&rsquo;s know is that our neighbours at East Malaysia is truly still underdeveloped. This is due to the mass size of Sabah and Sarawak as they are still very much surrounded by jungles all around them with almost no proper access roads to the villages.
In fact, many of the villages rely on the off-road tracks or even rivers to get around as that&rsquo;s the quickest way around. It&rsquo;s been a common sight that school kids from these villages had to traverse a rickety bridge to get to school daily.

Seeing poor infrastructures like this has got many Malaysians mad and now another post had caught the attention of Malaysians.

The images show students from Kampung Pituru and TImbang Taun in Sabah all cramped into a small boat as they make their journey to school. Unfortunately, it&rsquo;s still common in East Malaysia that kids go through dangerous ways just to attend school.
The kids were not just cramped onto the boat but were also lacking in proper safety equipment such as life jackets all this time when taking the boat to school.
No authority had taken ay action against this yet and this netizen figured it&rsquo;d be best to make this as a viral post online. At the time of writing this, the post had gained 4.7K retweets and many had voiced out their disappointment.
The fact that the student&rsquo;s safety is blatantly ignored, and people always wonder why does it take a viral post for authorities to take action?

Funds for bigger boats and life jackets are in the process
Harun Durabi who&rsquo;s the Deputy Rural Minister for Sabah says that he&rsquo;s working on securing more funds for bigger boats and lifejackets after noting about the viral tweet. He also said that he&rsquo;ll be visiting them soon and will get the exact number of safety jackets for the school children.
One thing Malaysians must know is that in the rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak, rivers play an integral role to connect the communities to the outside world since the villages are unreachable by road.
To think that we still have this kind of issue going on in East Malaysia is very sad. The fact that these kids risk it all to go to school for a proper education. Hopefully authorities will take action about this soon and not when a death is reported.

Sabah: Netizens Raise Concern Over Lack Of Lifejackets In Cramped 'School Boat'

The country keeps on recording its death toll due to COVID-19 to another 13 counts since last night, making the national death toll to 31,831.
According to the <a href="https://covidnow.moh.gov.my/deaths/">ministry's CovidNow portal</a>, data showed that there were no brought-in-dead (BID) (Brought-in-dead cases refer to cases of death that occurred outside the hospital involving COVID-19 patients who did not show any symptoms) cases reported yesterday, which means the BID death toll remains at 6,420 since early of Jan 16, 2022.

On the other hand, as mentioned on the GitHub website of the Ministry of Health (MOH), three states and federal territories, namely Penang, Sabah, and Kuala Lumpur each recorded two deaths while Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perlis and Selangor, each recorded one case of death due to COVID-19, yesterday.
Too real yet some still view this as a fictional dystopian.
In fact, a total of 41,129 active cases were admitted into the system yesterday with a number of 34, 253 cases are undergoing home quarantine; a total of 3,989 patients are currently receiving treatment at the COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Center (PKRC) and another 2,725 patients are still being treated at the hospital.

Meanwhile, a total of 264,635 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were given yesterday, involving 258,337 third doses; 4,317 second doses, and 1,981 first doses.
Until yesterday, it has been calculated as much as 61,540,069 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given to the Malaysian population.
As stated by the system, 97.9 percent of the country's adult population has completed their vaccinations while 88.2 percent of the adolescent population between the ages of 12 to 17 have also been fully vaccinated. But with the recent vaccination scams going around in the country, the data might still need to reallocate.

COVID-19 Claims 13 More Malaysian Lives

Looks like the Malaysian sports scene had really taken a stir lately. First it started from Football, then <a href="https://myc.com.my/articles/858/nsc-axes-144-national-athletes-from-training-programme-due-to-lack-of-funds">NSC dropping 144 of our athletes</a> and now the Badminton scene a mess.
Our national badminton player Lee Zii Jia has officially left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)!
Initially it began as a rumour where BAM had denied the statement and claims that Zii Jia had been unaware of such whispers. At the time, many were relieved that he wasn&rsquo;t getting dropped but on 17 January, the rumour had returned, and tension built up as he refused to confirm or deny his future status with BAM.

The issue was brought up again after an Astro Arena journalist had visited the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) where she wanted to ask about BAM&rsquo;s future goals for tournaments. However, Syakirah Zulkifly was then told there were several meetings going on and one of them was with Zii Jia himself.
&ldquo;This was the first time (Zii Jia) met with BAM since the news broke a few weeks ago that Zii Jia intended to turn professional,&rdquo; said Syakirah. Additionally, there was an emergency meeting scheduled which involved council members from all states and Syakirah felt that it must have been &ldquo;something big&rdquo;.
Quite recently, Zii Jia had left his training to attend the meeting twice where one was alone and one was with his sister. Things were quoted to be tense in BAM after the meeting and the issues of the meeting were highlighted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Initially, Norza Zakaria, president of BAM, said that the meetings were to outline Zii Jia&rsquo;s 2022 season goals. In an interview with Zii Jia on 18 January, he did not deny the rumours of him leaving BAM.
&ldquo;I can tell (you) that I don&rsquo;t think it is my place to comment anything more about this. I feel that (if there&rsquo;s) any announcement, BAM will announce it. I will still focus on training to produce good results and make Malaysia proud.&rdquo;
He had also stated that he felt touch that he&rsquo;s compared to Datuk Lee Chong Wei, but he also says that what he&rsquo;s achieved and has is totally different than what he&rsquo;s (Zii Jia) done.

Admittingly, Wong Choon Han who&rsquo;s the Director of Coaching said that losing Zii Jia would be a BIG loss to BAM as they&rsquo;ll be losing their #1 player and they will have to rush to train up their other athletes.
BAM confirms Lee Zii Jia&rsquo;s exit
At 5:30pm on Wednesday (19 January 2022), Norza Zakaria confirmed that Zii Jia submitted his resignation letter. FMT reported that his decision to resign was due to him not being able to stand the pressure as he wanted to achieve his own dreams according to his own pace.
As of now, Zii Jia will begin his journey as a professional player and will be joined by fellow player Goh Jin Wei.
Netizens started blaming BAM
Ever since the retirement of Datuk Lee Chong Wei in 2019, many had slammed BAM on their actions to improve the squad. Many had also suggested that BAM should address the internal issues within the organization and at ministerial level before they think of the nation&rsquo;s progression in the sport.

Zii Jia is ranked 7th in the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Rankings in the men&rsquo;s singles category and he is the third Malaysian men&rsquo;s singles shuttler to win the All-England title this century.
I&rsquo;m sure all Malaysians would love to see Zii Jia succeed in the future and as how he stated it, &ldquo;at his own pace&rdquo;. Meanwhile, BAM should probably look into their internal management team and investigate what led to Zii Jia&rsquo;s resignation cause I&rsquo;m sure it&rsquo;s also due to internal factors.

The fire was noticed by a neighbour who informed the woman that her car was set ablaze. They arrived on the scene to find a bunch of firefighters trying to put out the fire.
Assistant Commissioner A Anbalagan, Serdang Chief District Officer, revealed that they were able to identify the assailant after reviewing the area's CCTV footage and on the same day itself, the suspect was arrested. His motorcycle, clothes, and the lighter he used at the crime site were all taken by the police.
Surprisingly as well, he had no significant criminal history, and his urine test for drugs even came up to be negative.
After investigation, it was found that the motive for the crime was revenge for a prior romantic rejection.
The suspect will be held in custody for five days, until December 10th, and will be investigated under Section 435 of the Torture Act.

This was confirmed as a foreign student from South Africa had entered the country on Nov19. All affected students have been directed to self-quarantine. Screenings of other individuals meeting the contacts have also been carried out and were tested negative.
Currently, travellers from several countries are barred from taking part in the Langkawi international programme after the new variant has been detected. There are two schedules that are banned.
