Nowadays, the prices of items are going up which is making it difficult for many to sustain their daily lives. And everyone knows how difficult it is to look for parking around town too.
On 30 November 2021, the finals of the Malaysia Cup was held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium and many Malaysians felt unwelcomed as the parking fees were insanely expensive.
Sin Chew had reported that a netizen had a shock when going to the stadium as the parking fee was increased from RM2 to RM20.

Although the match was scheduled at 9PM, fans had gathered at the stadium as early as 4PM. Many had took to social media as they had advised fans to take public transport to the stadium instead of driving.

Instagram user @Faizaljurani_ had posted an Instagram story which was reposted around social media showing his receipt for the parking at the stadium.

I understand that businesses were hit pretty hard due to the pandemic, but don&rsquo;t you think charging RM20 for parking is a bit too much?

Issue of parking being expensive during big events

For those who frequently go to Bukit Jalil for events, some may realise that the management tends to increase the prices to &ldquo;gain a quick buck&rdquo;. If you calculate it, if 2,000 cars were to enter the lot, the management would have easily made RM40,000 in a night.
At the time of writing this, the management of the parking has yet to respond to the situation.
I really think that this is unacceptable, and authorities should really have strict regulations on when and how prices of parking spaces can be hiked during a &ldquo;big&rdquo; event.
