GoCar has officially launched their new electric vehicle (EV) rental services called GoEV!

The new service is now available to all users in the Klang Valley and they offer a multitude of services. You can now have the option to rent the cars at RM24.90 per hour or even subscribe to a long-term option up to 36 months.

The new GoEV fleet consist of 25 units of the 2021 Nissan Leaf model. GoCar plans to further expand the fleet to 100 units over the next year.

Currently, there are three EV car sharing zones in strategic locations for ease of public access, and they are located at the GoCar Malaysia Petaling Jaya hub, MyTown Cheras and Avenue K in KL City Centre. By the end of 2021, GoCar aims to setup a total of 10 GoEV zones but no locations were mentioned yet.
How much will it cost to rent the EV cars?
The new programme is open to all drivers aged 18 and above and all you need is to sign up as a GoCar member and select if you&rsquo;d prefer the GoEC Share or GoEV Subs plan.
The sharing plan is current available for round trips and short-term usage starts from RM24.90 per hour or RM249 per day. If you use the promocode &ldquo;TRYGOEV&rdquo;, you&rsquo;ll be entitled to 25% off on all GoEV Share roundtrips till 31 January 2022.
Want the car for a longer duration? You can opt for their 36-month subscription at RM 2,299 which includes road tax, insurance, regular servicing and a wall box home charger. Those who rent the EV cars will also be given a chargeEV card which enables them to utilise over 300 DC charging stations nationwide.

How do we book a GoEV?

To book a GoEV vehicle, all you have to do is download and open up the app. Navigate your way to &ldquo;Select Car Model&rdquo; and select EV on the booking screen and proceed to choose your preferred Collision Damage Waiver that ranges at RM2.49 per hour or RM14.94 per hour. The car will later be unlocked by GoCar and drivers can begin their journey.
The best part is that no pre-bookings are required.

Now that&rsquo;s really one way to get users on the road to switch to EV vehicles. Soon enough, I won&rsquo;t be surprised if we see more EV cars nationwide with the expansion of GoCar.

If it&rsquo;s one thing about living in the Klang Valley, there&rsquo;s no doubt that we have a lot of food here but I don&rsquo;t think many of us are willing to brave through 1 hour of traffic to just travel a few kilometres just for food.
Every time we crave food, many of us always think of taking a road trip up north to enjoy the views of Penang Island plus the many choices of food that they have to offer.

Well, we got some good news! For those Penang foodies who are within the Klang Valley, the airasia Super app had just announced that airasia food will now be offering intercity food deliveries, specifically from Penang to the Klang Valley!

That&rsquo;s right! Don&rsquo;t let your dreams be dreams as those in the Klang Valley can now order cooked food from Penang and have it air-flown and delivered right to your doorstep.

Since the offer is newly launched, deliveries are currently limited with around eight or so restaurants involved with the platform. Some of them being: - Hameeda Pata &amp; Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng Sotong - Jeruk Made Pak Ali&rsquo;s Jeruk Campur - Li Er Caf&eacute;&rsquo;s Nyonya Kuih - Nasi Kandar Hameediyah - Bee Hwa Caf&eacute;&rsquo;s White Curry Mee, Char Koay Teow &amp; Hokkien Mee
airasia says that in the coming future, more restaurants will be added as well as a wider variety menu as most shops now offer only 1-3 items from their menu.
Delivery done only once a week

For those wanting to get their Penang food fix, deliveries are only done once a week every Wednesday. Orders must be placed before 5PM on Tuesdays in order to get your food if not you&rsquo;ll have to wait for the following week&rsquo;s slot. If you plan to order the food, you can do so by pre-ordering 30 days in advance too.
How much does it cost?
For those wanting to get air-flown food form Penang, it will cost a total of RM5.99 per order and that&rsquo;s broken down to RM2.99 for their regular doorstep delivery and RM3 for intercity delivery.
When reviewing the list of restaurants available, the price of the food ranges between RM30 to RM77 with some of them coming in combo pax of 3-4 per order. That&rsquo;s not that bad when you think of it cause some of the food in KL alone cost just as much and not to forget, the expensive delivery fees we have here from other competitor brands. 
In terms food freshness, looks like we&rsquo;ll have to wait another time to review it.

AirAsia Food Announces Penang To Klang Valley Food Delivery! 

To all Studio Ghibli fans out there, the wait is finally over! The Studio Ghibli Park in Japan is nearing its official opening and tickets are now available for purchase online.
The theme park is set to officially open its doors to the public on November 1 2022, and long-time fans will soon be able to explore and discover the wonders of Studio Ghibli.

&nbsp;The 200-hectare site of the 2005 World Expo will be transformed into &lsquo;<a href="https://ghibli-park.jp/en/">Studio Ghibli Theme Park&rsquo;</a>, an immersive park with open areas based on the popular films of Studio Ghibli such as Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Whisper of the Heart, among others.
The theme park is located in Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park in the city of Nagakute, which is less than two hours away by train from the city of Kyoto.&nbsp;
The &lsquo;Studio Ghibli Theme Park&rsquo; does not offer any fun rides or big attractions, as its main concept is to allow visitors to &lsquo;Take a stroll, feel the wind and discover the wonders.&rdquo;

Tickets &amp; Opening Hours
Studio Ghibli Theme Park will be open on weekdays from 10:00-17:00 and 9:00-17:00 on weekends and holidays. The park will be closed every Tuesday.
Tickets for November are done by lottery, which starts on August 10 at 10 AM through August 22 at 11:59 PM, and you can enter the ticket lottery through the official&nbsp;<a href="https://ghibli-park.jp/ticket/#sale">Ghibli Park website</a>.
The lottery results will be announced on September 2, at 3 PM, and as for now, the ticketing information is only available in Japanese.&nbsp;

Other tickets sales will be done on a first-come, first-served basis, from 14:00 on Saturday, September 10, where one can purchase up to 6 tickets per application, however sales will end as soon as the capacity is reached, so if you&rsquo;re interested, you might want to hurry up and get them now.
All tickets must be reserved for a specific time and date, and each exhibit requires a separate admission fee. Admission is free for children under 3 years old.

When we hear the name Namewee, what&rsquo;s the first thing that comes to mind?

For most of us, the first thing we would think of is controversy. Truth be told, he is no stranger to it as he has made many headlines in the news from becoming an overnight millionaire for selling NFTs to being a nominated for International Film Awards. He&rsquo;s pretty much done it all.

But this time around the controversial singer-songwriter had just dropped his latest rap song &lsquo;Katak&rsquo; and had a familiar face present in it and it was none other than Muar MP and Muda president Syed Saddiq! At the time of writing this, the video has gained 1.2 million views as well as 31K likes on YouTube.

The song was released on 12 August (Friday) and was seen as &ldquo;a dig at Malaysia&rsquo;s political frogs&rdquo; as recently an Anti-Party Hopping Bill had passed.
Namewee commented that the song was made specially to lament the eventual extinction of frogs in Malaysia.
&ldquo;Frogs in Malaysia will go extinct soon. Let&rsquo;s lament them through this &lsquo;Katak&rsquo; song!&rdquo; he said.
Funny enough, Namewee had also written in Mandarin as he wondered if the music video would land him in trouble again. Not surprising as it&rsquo;s happened in the past.
&ldquo;Malaysia has been very free of speech in the past two years, hasn&rsquo;t it?&rdquo; he quipped sarcastically before sending his best wishes to the &ldquo;political frogs&rdquo; with the help of a Malay vulgarity and urged Malaysians to &ldquo;do the frog dance together.&rdquo;
A music video full of stars and big names

Aside from Syed Saddiq, the music video had quite a number of stars featured in it. Some of them being local rap group 5Fourty2 which DAP member and Dusun Tua assemblyman Edry Faizal Eddy Yusof was formerly a part of under the stage name Orfeus, and The Real Masta Clan, who raps in Malay, Mandarin and Tamil.
In the music video, phrases such as &ldquo;jump here and there&rdquo;, &ldquo;frogs at the backdoor&rdquo; who &ldquo;suddenly come and go&rdquo; had been used. This was directed towards the politicians who have been jumping parties and caused our political scene to be unstable.

The funny bit of the video is how Namewee was seen dancing with men wearing suits, dollar sign-shaped sunglasses and frog masks along the streets of KL. Later, they ended up in a restaurant with Syed Saddiq
Towards the end of the video, Syed Saddiq himself had given a speech in Malay as he took a jab to the &ldquo;political frogs&rdquo; and also stated that they were a protected species and a national treasure.

&ldquo;They have a very high IQ and are very good at jumping with a lot of collagen and most importantly, they are very rich.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Being under our country for many years, frogs continue to mate non-stop and reproduce in increasing numbers,&rdquo; eh says. He ends it off by shouting &ldquo;Hidup Katak!&rdquo; (Long live the frogs) before being dragged off stage by the men in the suits.

The whole video was inspired by the bill that was recently passed by the Dewan Rakyet where MPs can&rsquo;t simply switch parties.

Namewee Drops His Latest ‘Katak’ Music Video Featuring Muar MP Syed Saddiq!

ASEAN 55th anniversary is back with the theme "Stronger Together" to emphasize the value of integration and shared agenda in the means of countering COVID-19.
This event was founded on 8th August 1967, aimed to encourage economic growth, social progress and cultural development of the regions involved. It is also to assist in regional peace and stability through the respect towards justice and rule of law.
This celebration was followed by the declaration of "The Year of Asean Youth" with the objective of building up youth participation and development in the Asean Work Plan on Youth 2021-2025.
But all of these objectives can't be reached if the youth does not have a good understanding of the issues happening around them.

Singapore-based ISEAS-Yusuf Ishak Institute conducted a survey that revolved around the issue of ethnic minority and young activist displacements by security forces in Myanmar.&nbsp;
The result of the survey showed 621 participants from the Asean state approved the discrimination in Myanmar.
Only 283 of them were concerned about the slow response of the political and humanitarian crisis around the issue.&nbsp;
This is concerning as it may be the result of a lack of understanding of the issue itself.
Fortunately, several actions have been taken to encourage the understand of Asean youth of its regional issues.
The very first Asean Youth Dialogue was held last month to create rooms for around 200 young leaders to discuss and voice out their opinions on the current regional issues.
The focus of the discussion was on how to get stakeholders to collaborate with youth across the region. Meanwhile, Asean youth, themselves, are encouraged to better understand current issues including food security, inflation, climate change and many others.

The youth's understanding of the issues around them can help the nations in so many ways. For example, youth participation in climate action activism can help their region's environmental performances.&nbsp;
There were also several youth-related forums conducted last year like Unicef East Asia and Pacific, the Asean Business Advisory Council, the EU-Asean Business Council and the United Nations Development Programme.
Other initiatives include Malaysia Youth Diplomacy (MyDiplomacy) that encourage youth involvement in Malaysia.

MyDiplomacy was convinced that Malaysia lacks youth-friendly and accessible platforms for the youth to better understand foreign diplomacy, policy and international affairs.
That is why they launched the "Merakyatkan Diplomasi" approach to strengthen the country's diplomatic circle and create diplomatic opportunities for Malaysian youths.
Relatively, all other youth engagement institutions, guided by the Asean Work Plan on Youth 2021-2025 vowed to provide more platforms for young people to learn and better understand the regional issues, and be more active in their involvement in the region's matters.
All of these movements and initiatives show how important it is for the governments and other related institutions, in giving a good amount of exposure for the youth to better understand the issues that are happening around them.

ASEAN Youth Should Familiarize Themselves With Regional Issues!

Some Malaysians may know that after sitting for UPSR exams and scoring good grades, they have the opportunity to head to boarding school as they are classified as some of the best schools to learn in Malaysia.
Despite that, its also common to hear bullying and harassment cases in these schools despite how strict it can be. Recently, a 14-year-old girl studying in a MARA Junior Science College (MRSM) in Kuantan had gained the attention of social media users after being harassed by an unknown person since June 2022 till now.
The unknown person had cut up her uniforms when it was outside to dry, scribbled on the bathroom walls and even wrote threatening notes to the girl. The worse part of it all was when someone had cut her hair while she as asleep.
The post was made by the girl&rsquo;s mother, Nazrah Mohamed that claimed that the institution management and wardens had not taken any action to solve the harassment issue.

The school had allegedly accused the daughter being the perpetrator when she had reported the incidents to them. It was also discovered that students staying within the same block are facing the same issue.
Sinar Hartian reported that Nazrah finds the situation highly unacceptable as no action was taken till today. If the issue continues, Nazrah will be taking legal action against MRSM.
Breakdown of the incident
The incident had first stated on Friday (17 June) where her daughter&rsquo;s blue uniform and a senior&rsquo;s batik shirt were hanging outside to dry and it had been scribbled on. A report was made and a roll call had happened to find the culprit but there was no luck finding out who did it.
Later on, Sunday (19 June) the sleeves of her daughter&rsquo;s yellow uniform had been cut off. The story was spread to the school seniors first as they attempted to investigate the incident first before reporting the issue to the warden.

Dissatisfied with the issue going on, Nazrah had phoned the chief warden for follow ups on the case but she found out that no one had reported the case to the chief warden. &nbsp;The chief warden then conducted a check with the students and informed that they were trying to solve the case on their own. That prompted a question by Nazrah wondering if it&rsquo;s normal for school students to investigate the matter instead of the school&rsquo;s administration.
Fast forwarding to 26 June, there had still been no follow ups on the case and this time her daughters blue school uniform and another students PJ clothing had been doodled on. That wasn&rsquo;t the only thing as on the same day, the bathroom walls of the institution had been scribbled on as well.

The more sickening thing is that five wardens had called Nazrah&rsquo;s daughter and accused her of doing the pranks. It was also alleged that they had pressured her to admit to the acts.
Yeah, sounds like a boarding school incident to me&hellip; No surprise that this had happen as it's "common" in many boarding schools across Malaysia.
On 3 July, the slippers outside the dormitory were seen arranged in a snake-like pattern and scribbles were sotted on the bathroom door.

Fed up with the incidents, Nazrah phones the student development (TPPP) for a follow up on the case. The schools vice principal had then sold Nazrah that they had sent her daughter for counselling and claimed that her daughter suffers from anxiety and high-stress levels. To add salt to the wound, the vice principal recommended the daughter to get psychiatric treatment.
That&rsquo;s pretty rude of the vice principal to assume such thing.
After consulting a psychiatrist, the doctor had given the green light stating that her daughter is healthy and fine and passed all the clinical interviews.
Further discussion set with the school&rsquo;s management

Nazrah had set to meet the principal, vice principal, chief warden, school counsellor and another warden to discuss the issues and matters.
During the discussion the principal had admitted that the school had made a mistake. But Nazrah had pointed out that the statements from everyone were not consistent. Clearly displeased with the meeting outcome, Nazrah proceeded to lodge a police report against the school management and also filed a complaint with SISPAA under the Education Ministry.

On 7 August, the incident had gone a bit overboard as a group of seniors found give blue shirt totally cut up and later found give yellow school uniforms, including Nazrah&rsquo;s daughter&rsquo;s tudung had been cut up. On the same night, a Form 3 student had found a threat note addressed to Nazrah&rsquo;s daughter in their dorm.

The worst incident had happened on 12 August when her daughter along with 2 other dormmate were left in shock as someone had cut their hair short while they were asleep.
Questions the institution and police
Up to this date, Nazrah had not received any update from the authorities nor the school. In her Facebook post, she brings up the question if MRSM will only start to take action only when a life is lost.
At the time of writing this article, there had been 16K likes, 21K comments and 40K shares over the incident. &nbsp;
The government has spoken up about the incident and assured that stern action, including expulsion, would be taken against the student who had conducted all these incidents. This won&rsquo;t be the first time that a student gets expelled from a MRSM over bullying as it&rsquo;s happened in Penang before.

In the video, we can see that he had whipped out an XXL sized boarding pass to present to the immigration officers. Not only were the officers amused but other passengers in the back can be seen laughing.
I mean I&rsquo;d be laughing too! Its not often you get to see something like this.
While entertained by the size of the boarding pass, the officers also took the chance to take a picture of him posing with the boarding pass. Thankfully the people behind them are laughing along if not I&rsquo;m sure no one would like to be waiting around just to get onto a flight.

Sadly though, all the pricing will change by the end of this year, with the streaming service just announcing the launch of <a href="https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/ad-supported-disney-subscription-tier-to-launch-december-8-in-the-u-s/">Disney+&rsquo;s latest ad-supported subscription tier</a> which will debut on December 8, 2022.

Okay, that doesn&rsquo;t sound too bad. Well, that is actually bad news for US consumers, as they now need to pay more money to watch Disney+ without the annoying commercials. Ugh!
Starting from December 2022, the previous ad-free subscription plan of USD $7.99 will have an increase of USD $3 going to USD$10.99 per month (RM 48.87).
The price tag of USD $7.99/month will still be available on the streaming service however, consumers will be forced to watch their favourite shows and movies with running ads.

Why Is Disney+ Increasing The Prices?
First things first: building a successful streaming service is extremely costly.
Companies like Disney+ is just one amongst many who are currently spending billions of cash to appeal and attract both old and new subscribers.&nbsp; Providing fresh content and raising the prices of the subscription plans is just one simple way to help raise the overall company revenue, and with the amount of content that Disney has to offer, consumers will most likely be willing to spend some extra cash.

Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia
Walt Disney Company in association with Astro, the country&rsquo;s leading TV platform, launched Disney Plus Hotstar in Malaysia on June 1, with both local and international content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

As for Malaysian Disney+ lovers, you do not need to worry as current prices are still normal. Pheww.
Direct subscribers can still access the service for <a href="https://www.hotstar.com/my/subscribe/get-started">RM54.90 for three months</a>, while <a href="https://product.astro.com.my/apps/disney">Astro</a> offers a variety of package deals, with an add-on of RM5 per month for existing subscribers of the Astro Movies pack.
