Malaysians are all very familiar with the one issue of going to malls on the weekend and that said issue is parking.
Despite how many malls we have around the city, none of them ever fail to show that how crowded it is and sometimes you ask yourself this, &ldquo;why did I bother going to a mall in the first place?&rdquo;

As a joke, some might say finding parking in a mall is like playing sports as it can be extremely difficult at times. If you&rsquo;re lucky, you&rsquo;ll find parking within the first 5 minutes of entering or being an unlucky soul, you&rsquo;ll take almost an hour at times.
But if it&rsquo;s the one thing that gets to everyone&rsquo;s nerves are those who like to &lsquo;cop&rsquo; parking as an attempt to get parking faster. Recently a video had went viral on social media showing a woman waiting at an empty parking lot.
The video showed that the individual was driving a Mercedes with a Singapore registration plate had just simply reversed into the &lsquo;copped&rsquo; parking lot while the car waiting had frustratingly honked the man.

Despite of honking for a long time, the two had seemingly ignored it and carried on parking as if nothing happened.
The incident certainly got the attention of many netizens and had also provoked them. The incident had happened in an unnamed shopping mall and netizens in the comment sections of the video had state that Malaysians shouldn&rsquo;t &ldquo;give face&rdquo; to Singaporeans if an incident like this happens again.

Against the law to &lsquo;cop&rsquo; parking

Since this incident isn&rsquo;t a first in Malaysia, JPJ Malaysia had issued a statement in July 2019 stating that those who perform the act of stamping parking spaces with both chairs, motorcycles, cones, hanging clothes, flowerpots, standing on the lot and others can be deemed an offence. Those found guilty of the act will be charged under Section 50(3) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

This law is not only applicable to private premisses such as a shopping mall but is applicable to public roads as well. Parking stamp offenders who are found guilty under Section 119 will be penalised not more than RM2,000 or imprisonment for not more than 6 months for their first offence. If the offence is done subsequently, they could be penalised up to RM4,000 or imprisonment of not more than 12 months.

It is advised that when facing a situation like this, its better to talk to the person nicely and just move on from the incident. At most, just report the case to authorities and let them handle the issue.

This number is set to increase significantly to 5.4 million recipients by April 2025.
&ldquo;If we can use MyKad for 5.4 million recipients with 3,500 stores, it&rsquo;s not that different and we could also use the same system for RON95,&rdquo; said Amir Hamzah, stressing that the system has already demonstrated its effectiveness.

From 1st April 2025, all applications for hiking and recreational activities in Selangor&rsquo;s Permanent Reserve Forests (HSK) must be made online via the Selangor Forestry e-Permit System (SeForest). This move, announced by the Selangor Forestry Department on 20th March, aims to simplify the permit application process, making it more accessible, efficient, and environmentally friendly by reducing paperwork.
Previously, hikers and outdoor lovers had to download and complete a form, submit it via email or in person at a forestry district office, and make payments through bank draft, postal order, or cash at the counter. With SeForest, the entire process is now digital, ensuring a faster and more convenient experience.
Which Locations Require an ePermit?

Since 1st September 2024, restrictions have been in place regarding the maximum number of visitors allowed per day in 43 recreational and hiking sites across Selangor&rsquo;s Permanent Reserve Forests. The daily visitor cap varies based on the size and ecological sensitivity of each forest reserve, with limits ranging from 150 to 300 people per day.
