Doctors, nurses, and staff so great,
Keeping us well, it's never too late!
Healthcare workers are the real-life Avengers, without the flashy suits and superhero names. They work tirelessly to keep us healthy, save lives, and fight off diseases like COVID-19. Without them, we'd be up a creek without a paddle.
And we may not know what they are going through in their lives, maybe with their financial, familial, mental, and physical health issues, yet, they continue to wear a smile and selflessly serve our communities. Hence, showing them a little appreciation is definitely a must. It keeps them going through the long hours, stressful situations, and difficult circumstances they face every day. So, please give them a thumbs up, a smile, or a kind word to show them you care. And hey, maybe even a cup of coffee or a scrumptious donut can sweeten their spirits.
Let's all take a moment to thank them for their superhuman efforts in keeping us all safe and healthy!
Kudos to this dedicated and hardworking nurse!
Recently, a man named Chun Guan took to his Facebook page to showcase a nurse at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, who works with a drip attached to her hand. Upon asking, Chun Guan found out that the nurse wasn’t feeling too well but had to work anyway because the hospital was understaffed.
Here is the translated English version of the conversation:
He wrote, “While waiting for a letter from the doctor, I saw her at the desk.”
“Eh Miss, why are you on drips?“ he asked, to which she replied with a shy smile, “Oh, I’m a little sick.”
Chun Guan further enquired, “Didn’t you take a sick day?”
She smiled again, “There’s not enough people.”
The nurse also allegedly didn’t manage to head back to her hometown for the Hari Raya festivities this year
“She’s a nurse at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, taking drips while on duty. I asked her permission to take this photo without showing her face.”
“She is from Terengganu and will only go back for Hari Raya next year,” he added.

If they can do it, what is our excuse for missing work?
This dedication to their profession begs the question: what is our excuse for not giving our all in our own jobs? Many of us work standard eight-hour days and have the luxury of taking time off when we are sick. Yet, how often do we find ourselves making excuses or taking shortcuts? We have the opportunity to do great things, but we settle for mediocrity.
It's so easy to get stuck in the daily grind and fall into a pattern of complacency. We get used to doing the same tasks, following the same schedule, and before we know it, our days start to blend together. But it's important to remember that every action we take has an impact on the people around us, whether we realize it or not.
Moreover, when we compare ourselves to the sacrifices of healthcare workers, it's clear that we have much to learn from them. These individuals are not only risking their own health but also sacrificing time with their loved ones to care for strangers. They are a testament to the power of selflessness and the importance of putting others first.
Of course, we don't all have to be healthcare workers to make a positive impact. But we can all take steps to be more mindful of our actions and how they affect others. We can be kinder, more patient, and more understanding. We can go above and beyond in our work, even if it's just in small ways. We can strive to make the world a better place, one action at a time.
So let's stop making excuses and start making a difference. Let's honour the sacrifices of healthcare workers by living up to their example. We may not be able to change the world overnight, but we can all do our part to make it a little brighter.
