When you hit the road, encountering scratches on your car is a common occurrence, particularly in the wake of accidents, whether they're minor or more significant in nature.

However, of all the instances when our car falls victim to scratches, it's most likely to happen when it's parked in a lot, along the roadside, or even in the vicinity of our seemingly secure neighbourhood.
In recent news, a heartwarming story emerged about a young boy from China who gained attention for inadvertently scratching his neighbour's car. However, the story isn't what it might seem at first glance. We recognize that children are naturally playful and live in the moment, often unaware of what the future holds. It's all part of the joy and carefree nature of childhood, wouldn't you agree?
With that being said, the reason why this made headlines is due to the manners of the young boy who extended his apology by leaving 50 yuan (~RM31.99) alongside a letter of apology to pay for the repairs or maintenance fees incurred as a result of his mischievous behaviour in scratching the car.

On October 26, the car&rsquo;s owner Xu, together with her husband from Hangzhou were stopped by a security guard at the residential community. Eventually, the guard passed the couple with the handwritten note and 50 yuan from the young boy. Xu added that they didn&rsquo;t pay much attention to the scratch-made since it wasn&rsquo;t in a serious condition until the moment when the guard approached them about it. 
In the note written in Mandarin, the boy said &ldquo;Apology letter: yesterday, I scratched your car with a wooden stick and felt extremely guilty. Right now, I only have 50 yuan. How much will it cost to repair your car? Can I pay in instalments? I&rsquo;m sorry, Uncle.&rdquo;

The neat handwriting and visible eraser marks were a testament to his seriousness and meticulous attitude and that captivated the owner&rsquo;s heart. 
Xu was moved by his remorseful and sincere gesture when being asked by the Tide News. At the same time, she found it funny and cute and said that he was brave enough to take full responsibility for his mistakes by providing remedies as a means to resolve the issue. 
As such, the couple would like to meet the kid for a sincere conversation. Having known that he is a Primary Three pupil, the couple told him that they had seen the letter and accepted wholeheartedly the 50 yuan for repairs.

To their notice, the kid seemed to behave well for being a responsible person at such a tender age that later on, they decided to return the 50 yuan as a reward for his good deeds. 
In a good ending, the story indeed melted netizens&rsquo; hearts on social media. As said by a netizen, children are playful and mischievous creatures but the fact that he was able to recognize the mistake he committed with the willingness to make amends shows his maturity which can serve as a good example to other young kids to emulate. Also, the little kid was praised for writing the letter in a diligent way besides netizens admired his cuteness in admitting his mistake.
A Learning Lesson For Our Kids In Malaysia

Ultimately, this story imparts a valuable lesson, one that can be applied to our own Malaysian children. It encourages them to learn from it and avoid the temptation to engage in playacting or, worse, resort to offensive behaviour when accidents happen and lead to property damage while playing outdoors.
Overall, there are kids who feel guilty for their behaviour and would directly admit their mistakes. On the other hand, there are those who do not admit and run away from their mistakes. However, it doesn&rsquo;t totally mean that they do not feel guilty and afraid about it. They could be telling themselves to not commit the mistake anymore with the desire to be a better person than before. 
Mistakes serve as a lesson for the development and growth that they develop their maturity as they age. Thus, every young kid deserves a chance to be a better person when he or she is willing to. :)
