Picture this scenario: after diligently saving up a substantial sum, you finally decide to treat yourself to the latest iPhone. You place the order online and patiently wait for a couple of weeks. When the delivery arrives, you excitedly open the package only to discover that instead of the single iPhone you ordered, a staggering 60 of them are in front of you.
Believe it or not, this unbelievable situation became a reality for TikTok user Giovanni Petruzziello. In September, he initially ordered a 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max for himself, and later, he placed an order for three more 256GB iPhone 15 Pro Max phones for his employee. However, on November 1st, upon receiving the package, he was in for a shock. Instead of the expected devices, three large boxes from Apple were delivered, each containing a whopping 60 iPhones, and to add to his astonishment, they were all the 1TB version.

He took to TikTok to document the unboxing of the three identical boxes, each containing a staggering 20 iPhones. Through a quick calculation, he estimated that Apple's oversight had incurred a cost of roughly $96,000 (~RM453,072) before taxes.
In a moment of candour, he acknowledged the potential repercussions, stating, &ldquo;I could probably get in trouble for posting this because they&rsquo;re probably searching for it now. But what do I do?&rdquo; This admission adds a layer of suspense to the already extraordinary situation.
Given Apple's stature as a colossal company, such a mistake is notably extraordinary. Since posting the video, it has garnered over 16 million views on TikTok and accumulated more than 1.6 million likes. The comments section has become a space for users to express their disbelief while some even try their luck at whimsically securing an iPhone of their own.

In response to the deluge of comments from users, Petruzziello swiftly conducted a Google search to determine the appropriate course of action when a business mistakenly ships an unordered package. Questioning whether a return was necessary, he perused the search results, revealing that companies typically cannot dispatch unordered merchandise and later demand payment. Further exploration reinforced the idea that recipients are legally entitled to keep unordered items, alleviating any obligation for return.

Interesting right? One wouldn't have expected this to be a reality.
In a subsequent video, Petruzziello shared that an Apple representative had made contact with him. According to his update, Apple not only refunded the cost of the four phones he initially ordered but also assured him that any charges incurred for the additional phones would be rectified. He was informed that he could visit an Apple centre to return the surplus phones.

Skipping ahead to a few days ago, Petruzziello eventually made his way to the Apple store, returning the iPhones that had been mistakenly shipped to him.

Ultimately, it appears to be a win-win scenario for both parties. Petruzziello secured four brand-new iPhones without any cost, and Apple successfully retrieved their misplaced devices. While many commend him for doing the right thing, some question why he bothered to return them, with a few admitting they would have opted to sell the phones instead. Additionally, some observations were made about the seemingly indifferent attitude of Apple employees during the return process, noting that they appeared uninterested and didn't even extend the courtesy of holding the door open for him.
