Last week, OpenAI unveiled the GPT Store, providing users with a platform to discover personalized versions of ChatGPT. In a matter of days, users were reported to have breached OpenAI's guidelines by generating "girlfriend bots."
Various searches with the term "girlfriend" resulted in the platform being flooded with a multitude of "girlfriend bots," such as "Korean Girlfriend," "Virtual Sweetheart," "Your girlfriend Scarlett," and even one named "Your AI girlfriend, Tsu."

Upon entering one of the chatbots, it features prompts to initiate the conversation by inquiring, "What does your dream girl look like?" Additionally, users engaging with these bots are given the option to share "their darkest secrets."
Breaking OpenAI&rsquo;s Usage Policy Rules
With the GPT Store only making its debut on January 10, it came as a surprise to witness the proliferation of bots that run counter to their usage policies. These policies explicitly state that GPTs (Generative Pre-trained Transformers) should not be tailored for romantic purposes: "We...prohibit GPTs dedicated to fostering romantic companionship or engaging in regulated activities." The specifics of regulated activities remain unspecified. In the same context, OpenAI also explicitly mentions that GPTs with profanity in their name or those portraying or endorsing graphic violence are strictly disallowed.
Since then, the company has taken steps to address potential conflicts arising from the launch of their new store. It's worth noting that relationship chatbots have gained significant popularity, particularly in the US. Seven out of the 30 AI chatbot apps downloaded in 2023 from the Apple or Google Play store were related to AI friends, girlfriends, or companions.

Nevertheless, it's worth noting that certain elements previously observable in the store are no longer searchable. However, with a bit of exploration, one can discover the ingenuity of GPT creators who have showcased their creativity by incorporating specific keywords like "sweetheart." This approach yields more relevant options compared to using the term "girlfriend."
Why Are There So Many AI Chatbots Of This Nature?

The proliferation of these applications aligns with a disconcerting epidemic of loneliness and isolation in the United States. Alarming studies indicate that one in two American adults admits to experiencing loneliness, prompting the US Surgeon General to underscore the imperative of reinforcing social connections. AI chatbots present a potential remedy for individuals isolated from human interaction, although there is also the concern that they may exploit human suffering for opportunistic gain.
And if you thought loneliness was exclusive to certain regions, Japan is also grappling with this issue, where nearly 1.5 million working-age individuals lead solitary lives and identify as social loners. This phenomenon is attributed, in part, to a substantial number of Hikikomori withdrawing from mainstream society due to relationship issues or job losses.
As of now, the matter of "girlfriend chatbots" appears to be "under control," with many of these bots having been removed. However, custom-made GPTs remain accessible for free to other users from creators on the platform, as long as they adhere to OpenAI's rules.

&ldquo;There is no express constitutional or statutory immunity accorded to a sitting prime minister for private acts committed before assuming office,&rdquo; she said. She also emphasised that constitutional guarantees of equal protection under the law mean equal treatment, not exemption.
The court ordered Anwar to pay RM20,000 in costs to the plaintiff, Muhammad Yusoff Rawther. Anwar&rsquo;s legal team has since indicated plans to appeal the decision and request a stay of the upcoming trial.

Other anxieties include fears of getting lost, being unable to communicate during a traffic stop or accident, and unexpected road hazards.

The top 10 countries deemed the scariest for driving include:

Malaysian police have confirmed that the decomposed body found at a construction site in Bangsar is that of Jordan Michael John Johnson-Doyle, a 25-year-old British software engineer who had been reported missing since 2 June.

The discovery was made during a search operation on 4 June, at a partially completed condominium along Lorong Maarof. The search was initiated after Johnson-Doyle&rsquo;s movements were traced to the area. Over 30 officers took part in combing the site, and at approximately 5pm, a body was found face-down in a partially submerged lift shaft at one of the still-under-construction blocks.
Tattoo Identification and Autopsy Results

Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa confirmed that the body had been positively identified by Johnson-Doyle&rsquo;s uncle, based on a distinctive tattoo. A post-mortem conducted at University Malaya Medical Centre revealed that the cause of death was a chest injury sustained from a fall from height.
&ldquo;There were no signs of foul play or criminal elements at the scene,&rdquo; said Rusdi. &ldquo;The case has been classified as a sudden death.&rdquo;
The body, which was discovered with most of its clothing removed, was recovered at around 9.30pm on the day of the search and taken for forensic examination.
Last Known Movements Before Disappearance

Johnson-Doyle had been on a solo backpacking trip across Southeast Asia while working remotely for a United States-based tech company. He had arrived in Malaysia from Vietnam on 17 May and was believed to be staying at Robertson Residences in Bukit Bintang during his time in Kuala Lumpur.
His last known contact was on the night of 27 May, when he was seen attending a quiz night at Healy Mac&rsquo;s Irish Bar in Bangsar. He had sent a photograph from the bar to a friend, but after that, his phone went silent and his social media activity abruptly stopped. Concerned family members, unable to reach him, reported his disappearance to the authorities.
Staff at the bar confirmed his attendance that evening, but were unable to provide further details about his departure or movements afterward.
Public Urged Not to Speculate
