Indeed, given the tough times, some individuals have resorted to becoming vendors at bazaars, hoping to generate some profit during the Ramadan month. However, it appears that this hasn't been the most fruitful endeavour, particularly when many are hesitant to splurge on expensive food.
Bazaar Vendor Says Profit Doesn&rsquo;t Exceed RM100

It's widely acknowledged that the Food and Beverage industry is a lucrative yet highly challenging field. Fluctuations in consumer spending can lead to quiet days, and businesses may experience downturns if customers are unable to afford their products.
Recently, a Ramadan bazaar vendor, Rauqhah Era in Segamat, Johor, shared that the 2024 Ramadan season hasn't been favourable and has proven to be tougher than anticipated. She emphasized that the Hari Raya Market didn't live up to its rumoured profitability.
Era highlighted that contrary to popular belief, not all vendors rake in significant profits, with many potentially operating at a loss without any means to recover their initial investment. In her two years of business, she observed neighbouring vendors taking days off due to unprofitable sales, struggling to even reach RM100 in daily revenue. Additionally, the high cost of renting space significantly contributed to the overall loss of income, leading to challenges in meeting employee salary obligations.

Despite the hardships, the woman expressed that her passion for business remains unwavering. She affirmed her commitment to persevering and earning a livelihood for as long as possible, especially amid the current uncertain economic climate.

Admittedly, Era remains undeterred despite ongoing struggles, a sentiment shared by other traders facing similar challenges during the 2024 Ramadan sales season. Among the common complaints voiced by vendors is the lack of profitability in their stalls, with some lamenting the absence of returns on their initial capital investment. Some have even opted to cease their business ventures altogether, pursuing alternative careers offering greater financial rewards and a more stable monthly income.

Whether it's speeding on highways, dangerously lane-splitting, or moving so slowly that they go unnoticed until it's too late, they can be a frequent cause of accidents, especially when cars are driving at higher speeds.
However, this time a Malaysian shared a dashcam video showing something even more concerning&mdash;an unmanned motorcycle weaving through traffic in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, sparking alarm among motorists.

Ghost Rider Was Caused By A Collision Between Two Motorcycles
The incident occurred at a fork in the road near the exit ramp leading to the Federal Highway, between Bandar Sunway and Petaling Jaya, heading towards Shah Alam. In the footage, the motorcycle seems to have lost its rider following a collision between two motorcycles in the left-hand motorcycle lane.

In the footage, one of the riders falls off, while his motorcycle drifts into the middle of the road, swerving unpredictably. The unmanned bike initially moves toward the centre before veering back to the side and eventually crashing into the grass.
The most amusing part of the video is the driver, clearly shocked, honking repeatedly, while the passenger comments on how bizarre the situation was. Thankfully, no additional accidents or injuries occurred, as the vehicle managed to avoid a collision with the rogue motorcycle.

After the video went viral, the comments section felt like a scene out of a comedy show, with many amused by the reactions of the driver and passenger during the strange incident. Foodie influencer Ceddy Ang even joined in, admitting he couldn't stop laughing at the driver honking at what seemed like a "ghost" riding the motorcycle. Others pointed out how lucky the driver was to have a dashcam, noting that it would certainly make for an interesting story when filing a police report or insurance claim.

Federal Highway&rsquo;s Motorcycle Lane Is Well Known For Having Issues
Typically, the dedicated motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway is designed to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all road users. However, those who frequently travel the highway may have noticed that some motorcyclists often use the main highway instead. While this is against the law and should only occur when approaching an exit, many motorcyclists avoid certain stretches of the lane due to poor conditions and lack of maintenance.

In March, Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung recognized the issues with the bike lane after receiving numerous complaints about its deteriorating condition, which was leading to accidents. To address the concerns, he visited the area between the Amcorp Mall expressway and Batu Tiga Shah Alam to assess the situation firsthand. During his inspection, he identified several problematic areas, including a reliance on signs to warn of flooding without any subsequent action taken to remedy the situation.
A netizen had previously shared his experience from 2021, where he fell victim to an accident caused by lane flooding. He mentioned that a passerby who assisted him noted that accidents were common on that stretch, particularly due to poor visibility at night, potholes, and flooding during rainy weather.
We can only hope that the riders involved in the collision emerged unscathed, as the impact must have been significant given that one rider was thrown from his motorcycle. As a reminder to all motorcyclists, please refrain from speeding in the motorcycle lanes and maintain a safe distance from other riders. 12-Year-Old Goes Missing After Going To Retrieve Food From Car

According to South Klang District Police Chief Cha Hoong Fong, a report was filed at 8:59pm regarding a 12-year-old girl who went missing after her mother sent her to retrieve food from a car parked outside their flat in Bandar Bukit Tinggi 1, Klang. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon around 2:20pm.
The report stated that Madrafataha Indal Bangsawan had gone down alone to get the food but failed to return. Concerned, her mother began searching the parking area around 3:00pm but could not locate her daughter. After an exhaustive search, she filed a police report that night.
Madrafataha was last seen wearing a green t-shirt and black track pants. She is described as fair-skinned, approximately 150 cm tall, with shoulder-length hair.
The South Klang Criminal Investigation Department has since launched an inquiry into her disappearance. Authorities are urging anyone with information on Madrafataha&rsquo;s whereabouts to contact the South Klang District Police Headquarters at 03-33762222 or the nearest police station.
As a reminder, it&rsquo;s always wise to accompany children wherever they go, even within familiar surroundings, as we can never predict what might happen. Let&rsquo;s hope she is found safe and reunited with her family as soon as possible.

When you first get a car, it&rsquo;s important to handle it gently to allow the engine to properly break in. This usually means avoiding high speeds, shifting gears at low RPMs, and steering clear of short trips that don&rsquo;t give the engine enough time to warm up.
Unfortunately, for one Malaysian, that initial excitement quickly turned into distress when his brand-new vehicle was involved in a crash just moments after leaving the showroom.
Crash Caught On Dashcam

A recent dashcam video has gone viral on Facebook, showing a high-speed collision at the Gombak toll plaza on the KL-Karak Highway. The footage captures an SUV being rear-ended by a speeding black Mercedes-Benz sedan. The incident occurred shortly after the SUV owner had just collected the vehicle from the showroom, making the crash even more unfortunate.
As the SUV slowed down while approaching the toll gate, the sedan, travelling at high speed, crashed into the back of the SUV, leaving it severely damaged and immobilized on the road. According to China Press, the SUV sustained such extensive damage that it may be written off entirely as a total loss.

Dashcam footage shows the sedan speeding towards the toll area with no signs of slowing down, suggesting a lack of judgment or control which in the end had caused him crash and cause severe damage to his vehicle, the toll booth and unfortunately also crushing the rear end of the Chery SUV.

Following the viral video, many netizens reacted swiftly, expressing outrage over the teenager&rsquo;s behaviour after the crash. Witnesses reported that the young driver appeared indifferent, allegedly preoccupied with his mobile phone rather than addressing the situation. This apparent disregard for the severity of the accident has intensified calls for stricter consequences.
Netizens have also questioned how a 19-year-old came to be behind the wheel of a luxury vehicle, with some offering legal advice to the SUV owner, encouraging them to file a claim and take legal action. The incident has reignited concerns about the safety of RFID toll systems and their role in high-speed collisions at toll gates.
Criticism has also focused on the broader issue of young, inexperienced drivers having access to powerful cars, highlighting potential shortcomings in the licensing system and its ability to adequately prepare new drivers for the responsibilities of the road.

In its latest video, the fraudulent account promotes a so-called 'special EPF withdrawal' (Pengeluaran Khas) for members under 55, claiming that applications can be processed online from October 7 to 30, 2024.
The video encourages users to click a link in the bio, which leads to a deceptive website designed to mimic an application portal for Bantuan Tunai Rahmah 2024 payouts.

One notable aspect of the fake website is its clever use of 'Bantuan Melayu' in the URL, designed to deceive users into entering their personal information.

The average financial loss per victim was US$2,726, with only two per cent fully recovering their funds, down from eight per cent last year.
Gogolook COO Manwoo Joo emphasized the need for proactive fraud prevention using advanced tools like Whoscall to help Malaysians combat scams. The survey, conducted by GASA, Whoscall, and Feedzai, involved 1,202 Malaysians and highlighted the emotional and financial toll of fraud.

In response to the growing number of unpaid PTPTN loans, Zambry revealed that an in-depth discussion has begun at the cabinet level, which includes the possibility of taking legal action against the 430,000 defaulters. While the timeline and specific measures are still under consideration, PTPTN chairperson Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim will announce the details once finalized.
However, Zambry reassured that any decisions will take borrowers' circumstances into account. "We understand the (economic) situation, but I urge them to come forward (to PTPTN) and explain their circumstances. They must also have a moral responsibility because once they repay, the money will be used to help the next generation."
On a positive note, Zambry also announced that 26,534 students will receive a Loan Advance of RM1,500 each to support their entry into public higher education institutions for undergraduate studies starting next month.
What Happens If You Don&rsquo;t Repay Your PTPTN Loan?

Failure to keep up with your PTPTN repayments could affect more than just your finances&mdash;it could ground your travel plans. PTPTN loan defaulters are prohibited from leaving the country, thanks to a collaboration with the Immigration Department of Malaysia. If you have overdue payments, PTPTN will notify the Immigration Department, and you&rsquo;ll be blacklisted in their system.
The consequences are serious: you won&rsquo;t be able to travel abroad, renew your passport, or even apply for a new one.
PTPTN borrowers are advised to check for any overdue amount in their repayments and settle it or discuss it with PTPTN at least 7 days before their trip to avoid being detained at the airport for overdue payments.
According to PTPTN Chief Operating Officer, Mastura Mohd Khalid, some borrowers only realise that they are barred from travelling only when they are stopped at the airport&rsquo;s immigration counter and when asked to make a repayment, many are able to settle it on the spot.
If you have PTPTN loans, now is the time to start repaying or settling them to avoid being blacklisted from traveling abroad. PTPTN Faces RM6 Billion Loss As 430,000 Malaysians Default On Their Loans

It's well-known that among social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter) is a go-to favourite for getting quick and instant news updates. However, the downside is that the reliability of news sources can sometimes be questionable, and the credibility of those sharing or reposting the information should be carefully considered before spreading it.

Additionally, there has been a surge in cybercrime, with scam ads appearing frequently and platforms offering insufficient responses.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil also pointed out that social media platforms show differing levels of compliance with Malaysian law, with X ranking the lowest, adhering to only 25% of regulations.
However, the platform&rsquo;s issues extend beyond compliance, affecting not just local accounts but also international users.
Global X Hack Hijacks Accounts To Promote &lsquo;Meme Coin&rsquo;
Recently, the X accounts of several government agencies and news outlets, both local and international, were compromised in a hacking incident aimed at promoting a cryptocurrency token. The hackers appeared to have targeted several high-profile X accounts globally in an operation that took place around 2 AM on September 19.
Among the affected local accounts were the Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), the Election Commission (SPR), and Malaysia Gazette.
At the time of writing, all Malaysian accounts have been restored to normal.

&nbsp;The X account of local news portal Malaysia Gazette was also compromised, with the hackers posting a message that read: &ldquo;THIS IS HACKED ACCOUNT! INTRODUCING $HACKED ON SOLANA. On each account we hack, we publish the token address so we pump it and make profits together.&rdquo; Similar messages appeared on other hacked accounts as well.

According to Decrypt, hackers attempted to promote a dubious meme coin called $HACKED in what&rsquo;s been labeled the "most incompetent hack of the year." As expected, the SOL token failed to gain much traction. $HACKED operates on the Solana blockchain, which supports SOL, the world&rsquo;s fifth-largest digital currency. Unlike major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, meme coins typically attract investors through lighthearted imagery rather than solid fundamentals.
Since the hack appeared to target only X (formerly Twitter) accounts, some speculate the hackers were focused on the platform rather than individual users or nations, likely as part of a crypto pump-and-dump scheme.
This event highlights the importance of using two-factor authentication (2FA) to secure online accounts.
Many criticized the operation, calling it an amateurish scam, and it remains unclear how much the hackers made. BleepingComputer reported that, when the hack was first detected, $HACKED had just 42 holders and a market cap of around $5,000. By the time the story was published, the number of holders had grown to 436, with the market cap rising to $166,175.57 (~RM 703,753.54)
Crypto investigator ZachXBT estimated that, despite the scale of the attack, the hackers likely only profited around $8,000 (~RM33,880).

Twitter Users Share Little Concern But Agree That The Hack Was Definitely Worthless 
While scrolling through the comments, many netizens shared their thoughts on the hack. Some Malaysians expressed concern about the frequency of cyberattacks targeting the country, especially with numerous reports of data breaches. Others speculated that the hack of Malaysian accounts might have occurred because the administrators lacked strong passwords or hadn&rsquo;t enabled two-factor authentication (2FA).
On the other hand, ZachXBT suggested that the hack could have happened because the accounts were linked to the same site or app, which had been granted permission to post. He also pointed out that scammers are constantly looking for ways to con users online, but in this case, the hack likely cost the hacker more than they earned&mdash;earning them the title of the &ldquo;most incompetent hacker of the year.&rdquo;
