Hanoi&rsquo;s renowned &ldquo;Train Street,&rdquo; a vibrant stretch lined with caf&eacute;s operating mere inches from active railway tracks, has officially been removed from travel agency itineraries. The Hanoi Department of Tourism has issued a directive prohibiting travel agencies from organising tours to the area, citing growing safety concerns and the need to maintain public order.
This ban specifically applies to the sections of Train Street running through Cua Nam, Hang Bong, and Cua Dong wards&mdash;areas that have long attracted visitors eager to experience the thrill of watching high-speed trains pass within arm&rsquo;s reach while sipping coffee.
A History of Safety Violations

The Hoan Kiem District People&rsquo;s Committee has repeatedly issued warnings and imposed penalties against businesses violating railway safety regulations, yet caf&eacute;s have continued to operate, often defying safety measures.
Authorities have also erected warning signs in multiple languages at key entry points, particularly along Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Dien Bien Phu streets, to deter tourists from entering the railway corridor. However, enforcement remains a challenge as business owners and tourists alike attempt to bypass restrictions.

Stretching approximately 2km and connecting Le Duan, Tran Phu, Cua Dong, and Phung Hung streets, Train Street has become one of Hanoi&rsquo;s most iconic yet controversial tourist destinations.

Despite these regulations, some caf&eacute;s have found ways to continue operating discreetly. Reports indicate that on days when police presence is minimal, businesses resume welcoming customers, complicating enforcement efforts and prolonging the ongoing dispute.

Malaysia&rsquo;s mixed doubles badminton duo, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, are officially parting ways following a decision by the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM). Acting president Datuk V. However, these claims were contested by other social media users who shared images showing operational flight information display systems, casting doubt on the severity of the disruption.
