Apple appears to be getting closer to launching a new generation of AirPods with built-in cameras, after an apparent demonstration video was discovered inside the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate.
The leaked video offers the clearest look yet at how Apple's unusual camera-equipped AirPods could work, showing the earbuds using Visual Intelligence to understand what the wearer is looking at and interact with Siri. While Apple has yet to officially announce the product, the discovery has added weight to reports that the technology could be coming sooner rather than later.
AirPods Could Give Siri A Pair Of Eyes
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet">
Here is your first look at AirPods with Cameras in action using Visual Intelligence. This video file came from macOS 26.7 RC <a href="https://t.co/yo7RI4MCeu">pic.twitter.com/yo7RI4MCeu</a>

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
According to reports from MacRumors, a short video hidden within macOS Tahoe 26.7 RC shows a person wearing AirPods while holding up a book.
The demonstration suggests that the cameras on the earbuds would allow Siri to identify objects in the user's surroundings. In the example, the wearer looks at a book and asks Siri to remember it for later.
A voiceover in the video says:
&ldquo;With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? Just ask me to save it for later.&rdquo;
This suggests that the cameras are not designed primarily for taking traditional photographs or recording videos. Instead, they would provide visual information to Apple's AI-powered features, allowing Siri to understand the user's surroundings and respond based on what they are looking at.
For example, users could potentially look at a book and save its title, identify an unfamiliar object, remember a restaurant they have passed or ask Siri for information about something in front of them &mdash; without having to take out their iPhone.
How The Camera-Equipped AirPods Could Work
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/755c0aae8eee22a8daa31df3b66a0dd080aa2e4c6181289f629c5b07b7003d76" />
The AirPods shown in the leaked demonstration look similar to the current AirPods Pro design, although reports suggest the stems could be slightly thicker to accommodate the additional hardware.
The cameras themselves are not clearly visible in the video.
Previous reports have suggested that the cameras would capture relatively low-resolution visual information and send it to Apple's Visual Intelligence system. Siri could then process that information to provide context or save details for the user.
The technology would essentially turn the AirPods into a wearable visual assistant, giving Siri access to information about what the user is seeing.
There is also evidence that Apple is developing the feature specifically for the AirPods. Software references reportedly include an option to set up Visual Intelligence on AirPods, rather than simply using the existing Visual Intelligence features available through Apple's other devices.
Apple Could Warn Users If The Camera Is Blocked
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet">

<script async="" src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

One of the more interesting discoveries in the macOS release candidate is an apparent warning related to the AirPods' cameras.
According to MacRumors, the software includes a &ldquo;Hair Detected&rdquo; message if the camera's view is obstructed. Another warning reportedly tells users:
&ldquo;To get the most accurate information about things in your environment, make sure AirPods are not covered.&rdquo;
This suggests that the cameras would need a relatively clear view of the user's surroundings to work properly.
It also gives us another indication that the cameras are intended to continuously or frequently analyse what is around the wearer, rather than simply being included as a novelty feature.
The AirPods Are Reportedly Codenamed B790
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/fb4d8377a15e59d94107dc026dd8b279925771ddbb7f342b7288e5116dc8d8ce" />
The upcoming camera-equipped AirPods are reportedly being developed under the internal codename B790.
References to B790 have reportedly appeared in Apple's software, alongside mentions of an &ldquo;image stream&rdquo;. This follows earlier reports from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has claimed that Apple is working on camera-equipped AirPods.
There may also be another camera-equipped AirPods project in development under the codename B798, although reports suggest that model could arrive at a later date.
The B790 model is currently believed to be further along in development, potentially making it the first camera-equipped AirPods to reach consumers.
Could They Launch With The iPhone 18?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/aaadc64f74f2544d507307d85ad0879e589b84960f0389e388975b00e8403574" />
The discovery of an actual demonstration video has fuelled speculation that Apple could introduce the new AirPods at its upcoming iPhone event.
Previous reports have pointed towards a possible launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as Apple's rumoured foldable iPhone Ultra. However, reports have also suggested that Apple's plans could change, with one recent claim pointing towards a possible delay for the camera-equipped AirPods until late 2027.
For now, Apple has not confirmed a launch date, product name or pricing, so the September launch remains speculation.
Privacy Could Be A Major Concern
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/415f70458ea9167fffabdaa85ddee6b39b36e7a197f64544ff3dbb3f3211e91a" />
While camera-equipped AirPods could introduce some interesting new capabilities, the idea of putting cameras into everyday earbuds is also likely to raise privacy concerns.
Unlike a smartphone camera, AirPods sit close to the user's face and could potentially capture the surroundings without people immediately realising they are being recorded.
Apple is reportedly considering an indicator to show when the cameras are active, although the exact implementation remains unknown.
The company will likely need to clearly explain how images and visual information are processed, whether anything is stored and how people nearby can tell when the cameras are being used.
A Major Upgrade For Apple&rsquo;s AirPods
Apple's current AirPods Pro already offer features such as advanced noise cancellation, improved audio and health-related tracking capabilities. Adding cameras and Visual Intelligence could represent one of the biggest changes to the AirPods concept since their introduction.
Rather than simply being wireless earbuds, the new model could become another way for users to interact with Apple's AI ecosystem throughout the day.
For now, the leaked macOS video provides the strongest indication yet of what Apple's camera-equipped AirPods could actually do. Whether they arrive with the iPhone 18 series or at a later date, Apple appears to be exploring a very different future for its popular wireless earbuds.

Motorists in Malaysia can no longer use MyEG or Zetrix AI for certain JPJ payment services after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) suspended both companies as its collection agents effective 5 October 2026.
The suspension follows an outstanding RM314 million in government revenue collected by MyEG Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd that had not been transferred to the Ministry of Transport&rsquo;s (MOT) main revenue account.
However, Transport Minister Anthony Loke has assured motorists that the suspension will not affect the delivery of JPJ services, with alternative channels still available for renewing driving licences and road tax, paying summonses and handling other JPJ-related transactions.
Why Did JPJ Suspend MyEG And Zetrix AI?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/2077c722e77adc4633d0f23523cefc9e44bd8d42ca9b6d9f355107988092c2bc" />
According to Loke, the RM314 million in outstanding government revenue accumulated between 19 May and 30 September 2026.
The minister also clarified that the outstanding amount did not accumulate over three years, as had been reported in some quarters. Instead, the current RM314 million in arrears began building up in May this year.
Prior to the suspension, MOT and JPJ had taken several steps to recover the outstanding revenue. These included issuing 35 reminder notices, setting deadlines for payment and holding four engagement sessions with the companies and other relevant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance.
The companies had also submitted a post-dated cheque worth RM231 million on 21 August, intended to settle the amount owed at that time. However, when the cheque was presented on 30 September, it was not processed by the bank following instructions from the company.
As a result, JPJ proceeded with the suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI's services from 12.01am on 5 October.
Loke said the suspension will remain in place until the full outstanding amount has been settled, after which the government will consider whether the services should resume. The government is also preparing to take legal action to recover the full RM314 million.
Can You Still Renew Your Road Tax And Driving Licence?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/6e125374d56e2c9fa43ddb2455b04cb34d1a3bc7947166e4385c46efa32015cd" />
Yes you can but not via the systems. The suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI does not mean that Malaysians can no longer renew their road tax or driving licences.
Motorists can continue using official JPJ channels, including the MyJPJ app, JPJ Public Portal, physical JPJ counters and JPJ kiosks.
This means motorists who normally rely on MyEG for routine transactions will need to switch to one of these alternative platforms while the suspension remains in place.
For those who prefer handling their transactions digitally, the MyJPJ application and JPJ Public Portal provide alternatives without requiring a visit to a physical counter.
Alternative Ways To Pay JPJ Summonses
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/3ccf3850caeffca51d2ba84b9c47b3f3b4845f23b3babe2c589bd510a7eb0cba" />
The suspension also affects payment services provided through MyEG and Zetrix AI, but JPJ summonses can still be paid through other official channels.
For non-Malaysians travelling through the Malaysia-Singapore border, JPJ is also providing additional assistance through mobile counters in Johor.
The Mobile JPJ Counters at Kompleks Sultan Abu Bakar and Bangunan Sultan Iskandar will operate from 8am to 10pm, allowing non-Malaysians to settle traffic summonses at the country's main southern entry points.
KPP01 Theory Test Services Continue
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ca4bb7a7e9f54a820309e5f250962b402ebfa0a24400cf423235d117925d78f8" />
The changes also cover the computerised KPP01 Theory Test for driving licence candidates.
Instead of relying on centres previously operated through MyEG, candidates can now take the computerised theory test directly through 85 approved driving institutes authorised by JPJ.
This means candidates can continue with their driving licence process despite the suspension of MyEG and Zetrix AI's services.
Government To Recover RM314 Million
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c429995b99e50210d44b9b64ab98c9da6b4c01fb9cb45f6aebb6c89ed7b8e7d6" />
Loke has stressed that MyEG and Zetrix AI acted as collection agents and that the money collected through these services belongs to the government.
The government therefore intends to recover the full RM314 million through appropriate legal action. Loke also dismissed claims that the suspension was politically motivated, saying the decision was based on the outstanding government revenue and the companies' failure to fulfil their obligations.
He added that the government has provisions to terminate the agreement if necessary and that there would be no question of compensation if the contract is ended due to non-compliance.
Questions Raised Over Government Oversight
Beyond the immediate impact on JPJ services, the RM314 million arrears have also raised questions about financial controls and government oversight.
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said the issue goes beyond the outstanding payment itself, questioning how such a large amount could accumulate despite repeated reminders and engagement sessions.
The PAC has also raised concerns about the monitoring mechanisms in place for third-party collection agents and whether the government's interests and public funds were sufficiently protected.
Malaysia Corruption Watch similarly called for a transparent review of the collection and remittance process, particularly given the 35 reminder notices and the RM231 million cheque that was not processed.
For motorists, however, the immediate takeaway is simple: MyEG and Zetrix AI are no longer available for JPJ payment services, but road tax renewals, driving licence renewals, summons payments and other JPJ-related transactions can still be carried out through alternative official channels.

One less option for motorists — but there are still other ways to get it done.

No More MyEG For JPJ Payments: Here’s How To Renew Your Licence And Road Tax

Everyone knows that Formula 1 drivers are some of the ultimate athletes in motorsport. Behind the wheel of an F1 car travelling at more than 300km/h, drivers need exceptional stamina, strength, concentration and mental resilience to cope with the physical demands of a Grand Prix.
And then there is everyone&rsquo;s favourite Finnish racing driver, Valtteri Bottas, who appears to be taking his fitness routine to another level ahead of this weekend&rsquo;s Singapore Grand Prix.
Instead of taking the usual flight or travelling by car with the rest of the F1 paddock, the 37-year-old Cadillac Formula 1 driver has decided to cycle around 350km from Sepang, Malaysia, to Singapore.
Yes, you read that right. After finishing his Malaysian Grand Prix weekend early, Bottas swapped four wheels for two and began a multi-day cycling adventure towards the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
From Sepang To Singapore On Two Wheels
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/a141967e4f46d83565cb855430ad163c653fedf61354945b54f703f72ead4609" />
Bottas began his journey on Sunday evening, just hours after retiring from the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit.
The 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix was held in Malaysia as a one-off replacement for the original Bahrain race, bringing F1 back to Sepang for the first time since 2017. However, Bottas' race was unfortunately cut short on Lap 9.
The Cadillac driver had opted to start on slick tyres despite the wet conditions, but the gamble failed to pay off when he spun into the gravel and was forced to retire.
Rather than heading straight to the airport for the short journey to Singapore, Bottas got on his gravel bike and began riding south.
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/0989ff8ab4ea84b2dcea621ca6e83a5f9d89f323c40c6a235138ab86963b7954" />
His first recorded stage covered 56.6km in just over two hours, with his cycling activity labelled "Malaysia to Singapore Day 1" on Strava. He travelled from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport area towards Port Dickson, with parts of the route taking him through gravel tracks and rural areas.
The following day, Bottas reportedly covered another 161.91km over nearly six hours, putting a significant portion of the 350km journey behind him.
He is expected to complete the trip over three days and arrive in Singapore in time for his mandatory media commitments on Thursday, ahead of practice for the Singapore Grand Prix on Friday.

While most F1 drivers will be travelling between the two countries by plane, Bottas has been spotted cycling through Malaysia, including some rather unusual routes.
One video shared by Bottas showed him riding through a dark, narrow path with only the light from his bicycle illuminating the way ahead. The route appeared to pass through a palm oil plantation, prompting plenty of reactions from Malaysian social media users.
Other motorists and cyclists have also reported spotting the F1 driver on the road.
One sighting showed Bottas riding through the Sungei Udang area in Melaka, roughly 245km from Singapore. He was also spotted riding alongside another cyclist, believed to be his partner and professional cyclist Tiffany Cromwell.
For many Malaysians, seeing an F1 driver casually cycling through rural roads and plantations at night is certainly not something you see every day.
Cycling Is A Serious Part Of Bottas' Life
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/e788adaa4b6c68939c67935a16fd681d1211aea2dabcfa34d1d3c97525c0d879" />
While the journey might sound extreme to the average person, cycling is far from a random hobby for Bottas.
The Finnish driver has developed a strong passion for cycling and gravel racing over the years, regularly using long-distance rides as part of his physical conditioning as well as a way to unwind away from Formula 1.
Bottas has competed in several high-level gravel events and has even achieved podium finishes at races such as SBT Gravel and Belgium Waffle Ride. He is also closely involved with FNLD GRVL, a gravel cycling event held in his native Finland.
Earlier this year, Bottas also qualified for the UCI Gravel World Championships after finishing fifth in his age group at a qualifying event in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, the World Championships clash with the Singapore Grand Prix, meaning he will not be able to compete.
His partner, Tiffany Cromwell, is also an accomplished professional road and gravel cyclist, making cycling a shared passion for the couple.
"When I Miss Racing, Then I Race On My Bicycle"
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ed66044d0d383b5bdd22ecec04b73683c87c43bc428cebcbd5a1593e1e228077" />
For Bottas, cycling is not simply another way to stay fit during the F1 season.
He has previously explained that getting on a bike helps him both physically and mentally, describing it as a way to clear his head and relieve stress.
&ldquo;When I&rsquo;m on my bike, I gain cardio, but I also use the bike almost like a stress release,&rdquo; Bottas has said.
He also sees cycling as another way to challenge himself when he is away from the F1 cockpit.
In another interview, he explained his appreciation for cycling by pointing out that, unlike a racing car, the cyclist is the engine and the machine.
That mindset perhaps explains why a 350km journey between two Grands Prix does not seem quite as ridiculous to Bottas as it might to everyone else.
A Different Kind Of Reset Before Singapore
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c02dd9659ca6a9162fa77bb17aafce62c377f3818ef000d7ffc4b8618f93bf9f" />
Bottas' unusual journey comes after a difficult start to his return to full-time Formula 1 racing.
After spending the 2025 season as a reserve driver, he returned to the grid in 2026 with the new Cadillac F1 team alongside Sergio Perez. However, the team's debut season has been challenging, with Cadillac yet to score a championship point.
Bottas' difficult weekend in Malaysia continued that run of form, with his race ending after just nine laps following his gamble on slick tyres.
Now, instead of simply moving from one hotel to another, he is getting several hundred kilometres of cycling into his legs before arriving at one of the most physically demanding races on the F1 calendar.
The Singapore Grand Prix is known for its heat, humidity and demanding Marina Bay Street Circuit, with drivers facing a long night race under the lights.
Whether the 350km ride will leave Bottas refreshed or completely exhausted remains to be seen.
But one thing is certain: while the rest of the F1 paddock is taking the conventional route from Malaysia to Singapore, Valtteri Bottas is quite literally taking the long way there.

Valtteri Bottas Is Cycling 350km From Sepang To Singapore For The F1 Grand Prix

Malaysia could be on course for a potential return to the Formula 1 calendar, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirming that discussions are already under way following the successful return of F1 to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
The 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, held at Sepang from 2 to 4 October, marked the first Formula 1 race at the Malaysian circuit since 2017. Although the event was originally scheduled to take place in Bahrain, security concerns linked to the conflict in the Middle East led to the race being relocated to Malaysia as a one-off event.
The strong response from Malaysian fans has now reignited hopes of seeing the Malaysian Grand Prix return as a permanent F1 fixture. However, significant financial and logistical considerations will need to be addressed before Malaysia can make a decision.
Malaysia Has Started Discussions To Bring F1 Back
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/ca80215e847563ecd8d5306c03a69e94431295e06fa7f69f4ddfab3cf21249f8" />
Speaking during the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, Anwar confirmed that the government is discussing the possibility of bringing Formula 1 back to Malaysia.
The Prime Minister said discussions had been opened with F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali, although he stressed that the process remains at an early stage.
Anwar also discussed the possibility directly with Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle while at the circuit. When asked about Malaysia potentially returning to the F1 calendar, he said the government was looking forward to it and that discussions were already taking place.
In a separate Facebook post, Anwar said any potential return would require careful planning. The F1 calendar is already heavily packed, with existing host countries tied to contractual commitments, meaning Malaysia would also need to secure an available slot.
The matter is expected to be brought to the Cabinet for further consideration, including Malaysia's ability to host the event, the financial commitment involved and the potential economic and social benefits for the country.
RM300 Million A Year Needed For A Permanent F1 Return
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/58789f6dc04acc1bb1279f1cea011fa045483634973d3e48b4f86e903f99f958" />
One of the biggest challenges facing a permanent F1 return to Malaysia is the cost.
Sepang International Circuit CEO Azhan Shafriman Hanif has previously estimated that Malaysia would need to spend at least RM300 million a year to secure a regular place on the Formula 1 calendar. This figure relates to the hosting rights and does not necessarily include all the additional costs associated with preparing and staging the race locally.
That is considerably higher than the estimated RM10 million to RM16 million Malaysia spent on hosting the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix as a replacement venue. The difference was possible because Bahrain had already covered the major hosting costs for its race.
This means Malaysia's successful one-off event does not necessarily indicate that a permanent return would be financially straightforward.
Malaysia previously stopped hosting F1 in 2017 partly because of rising hosting and licensing costs, making the financial question particularly important as the government considers another long-term commitment.
Sepang Says It Is Ready To Host F1 Again
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/d7b11d143ba6db83e7f0ab4d5fcc35c77ffe08936aa4a21e785d31b01de7e754" />
Despite the financial hurdle, Malaysia already has the infrastructure and experience needed to host a Formula 1 race.
Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) president Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir said Sepang International Circuit remains capable of hosting F1, with its previous experience in organising the event providing a strong foundation.
Mokhzani said the final decision would ultimately depend on the government and whether the economic impact and multiplier effect of hosting F1 could justify the investment.
He also proposed a possible five-year &ldquo;3+2&rdquo; arrangement, where Malaysia would initially commit to three years before having the option to extend the agreement for another two. Such a structure could provide greater certainty for organisers, fans and international visitors.
F1 Could Bring Wider Economic Benefits To Malaysia
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/f5b6df394509d6c012c74a958d7c65bda729c54bec8e75cd35e1334a99101810" />
Beyond the race itself, supporters of an F1 return argue that the event could generate benefits for businesses and the wider Malaysian tourism industry.
International visitors attending the race could contribute to the economy through spending on hotels, restaurants, transport, shopping and tourism activities in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of the country.
The 2026 event also provided opportunities for local businesses. Around 40 local traders participated in the Karnival Litar Rasa MADANI at the G Hillstand, giving food and beverage vendors the opportunity to benefit from the large crowds at Sepang.
Anwar highlighted the initiative as an example of how major international events could create opportunities for local traders while giving spectators access to Malaysian food and businesses.
Strong Fan Response Shows Malaysians Still Want F1
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/329afca456de8a59c0fc4d1a3094f15b6d95f236dec51609a052c432e1519ab8" />
The atmosphere surrounding F1's return to Sepang also demonstrated that interest in the sport remains strong after a nine-year absence.
Reports indicated that around 105,000 tickets were sold for the 2026 event, while thousands of fans attended despite heavy rain delaying the race.
Anwar described the return as a meaningful occasion for motorsport fans around the world, praising the drivers and teams for delivering an exciting race. He also congratulated Max Verstappen, Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull Racing following the event.
The Prime Minister's own reaction to the rainy race summed up the enthusiasm surrounding F1's return. Despite being drenched by the heavy rain, Anwar said he was excited and that the entire country was rejoicing.
Bahrain-Malaysia Ties Helped Bring F1 Back To Sepang
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/01d410f0cb6c0b5955bc0cb4a057b06466dd41b0dd8e43beb22e67a36224ca75" />
Malaysia's opportunity to host the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix was also supported by the close relationship between Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Anwar said the relationship helped pave the way for Malaysia to be selected as the replacement host and described the decision as a reflection of the international community's confidence in Malaysia.
He also expressed hope that the cooperation between Malaysia and Bahrain would strengthen bilateral ties and create further opportunities that benefit both countries.
Will Formula 1 Return To Malaysia Permanently?
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/73ac8a0c586daf07fcf8c58dd82d16846cfa9250720709fc399ec3b0d9b87059" />
For now, there is no confirmed date for Malaysia's permanent return to the F1 calendar.
The successful 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix has nevertheless reopened the conversation, with the government now expected to assess the financial requirements, available calendar slots and potential economic benefits.
Malaysia previously hosted the Malaysian Grand Prix every year from 1999 to 2017, making Sepang one of F1's established venues before rising costs and diminishing returns led to its departure from the calendar.
With fans once again filling the grandstands at Sepang, the appetite for a Malaysian Grand Prix clearly remains. Whether that enthusiasm can justify an annual commitment of at least RM300 million, however, will ultimately be the key question for the government and Formula 1.

Malaysia Considers F1 Return To Sepang, But RM300 Million Annual Cost Remains A Major Hurdle

Fujifilm has introduced the Instax Pal 2, a redesigned compact digital camera that brings a more traditional film-camera experience to its popular Instax ecosystem.
Unlike conventional Instax cameras, the Instax Pal 2 does not print photos directly. Instead, it captures digital images that can be transferred to a smartphone, stored on a memory card or sent to compatible Instax printers and hybrid cameras for physical prints.
For Malaysian consumers, the new camera is now starting to appear at local retailers, with Shashinki listing the Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 at RM899. This makes it considerably more expensive than the original Instax Pal, which launched in Malaysia at RM499.
The higher price comes with a significant redesign and upgraded features, including a 10-megapixel sensor, optical viewfinder, top-mounted display, physical controls and USB-C connectivity.
A Completely Redesigned Instax Pal
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/c305d9a2448908742d4fbbb65de78d084fcf789d5714c8b20e4fb2b880580e42" />
First introduced in 2023, the original Instax Pal took a different approach to instant photography by separating the camera from the printer. Without the need to accommodate film and printing hardware, Fujifilm was able to make the camera extremely compact.
The Instax Pal 2 retains this concept but completely changes the camera itself.
Measuring 37 x 42 x 92mm, the new model adopts a horizontal, miniature film-camera-inspired design. Its rounded predecessor has been replaced by a more conventional body with a semi-matte finish, optical viewfinder, top-mounted colour display, control dial and mechanical lever.
10MP Sensor And Creative Features
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/b7c404f0d1b0c340160e73e23d0c668bc159ebe51c36dc9f29b0a5ca19fcfb9d" />
The Instax Pal 2 features a 1/3.06-inch CMOS sensor capable of capturing 10-megapixel images, double the 5-megapixel resolution of the original model. It also has an f/2.2 lens, autofocus, face detection, automatic white balance and an LED flash.
Users can frame shots through the optical viewfinder, review images on the top-mounted display and use the control dial to switch between filters and effects.
The camera supports several shooting formats, including Instax Mini, Instax Square and Instax Wide, as well as a frameless 4:3 option.
30 Filters And Flipbook-Style Animations
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/bf1d56a10b3c93fc504ff8fdd685b12de4a5ae794403fde6560c29ff20e634f8" />
The Instax Pal 2 comes with 30 creative effects across five themes: Modern, Y2K, Vintage, Chromatic and Fantasy.
Six effects can be downloaded to the camera at a time through the Instax Pal app, while the physical dial lets users switch between them while shooting.
The camera also introduces Instax Animation mode, which captures up to 10 consecutive frames and combines them into a short, flipbook-style animation.
Through the app, users can further edit their photographs with filters, text and stickers before sharing them on social media.
Transfer Photos Directly To Your Phone
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/7aa60e98f4b30240e91b04d04602e27bd93e9d5714cdfb82792cf47725752bf0" />
The Instax Pal 2 includes Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless transfers through the Instax Pal app, while one of its biggest upgrades is a built-in USB-C connector for direct smartphone transfers.
Fujifilm says wired transfers can move individual images in around 0.7 seconds while retaining the full resolution of up to 3776 x 2832 pixels.
The camera has built-in storage for around 100 photos, double the original Pal's capacity. A microSD card can also be used for additional storage.
The Instax Pal 2 Does Not Print By Itself
<img src="https://r2.myc.my/39c26ec45a4e0153371d4b5d63b631fdbd38ea302b2e6a197334c8561fb1bf19" />
Despite its Instax branding, the Instax Pal 2 does not have a built-in printer. Users can keep their photographs digitally or send them to compatible Fujifilm devices for physical prints.
The camera works with Instax Link smartphone printers and compatible hybrid cameras such as the Instax Mini Evo, Instax Wide Evo and Instax Mini LiPlay.
Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 Malaysia Price And Availability
&nbsp;<img src="https://r2.myc.my/95708fa0f7e9a5f64be0b070bd5f2787a89724d3e65172d34e2a450d89d3d1f4" />
The Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 is currently listed by <a href="https://shashinki.com/shop/?keywords=FUJIFILM+instax+Pal+2+Digital+Camera">Shashinki</a> at RM899 in Malaysia.
That is a notable increase from the original Instax Pal's RM499 local launch price. Internationally, the new camera is priced at US$169.95, equivalent to roughly RM710&ndash;RM720 depending on exchange rates, before local taxes and retail costs.
N4 Camera has also announced plans to bring the camera to Malaysia, with more local retailers expected to list it as availability expands. The Instax Pal 2 is available in black and white.
Is The Instax Pal 2 Worth RM899?
The Instax Pal 2 arrives as interest in compact digital cameras and retro photography continues to grow, particularly among younger users looking for something different from smartphone photography.
Rather than competing with smartphones on image quality, the camera focuses on its physical controls, nostalgic design, creative effects and the experience of taking photographs. For Malaysian buyers, the RM899 price will be an important consideration, especially when smartphones and entry-level compact cameras offer more advanced imaging hardware.
However, for those looking for a fun, portable camera with a retro aesthetic and the option to turn digital photographs into Instax prints, the Instax Pal 2 offers a different way to enjoy photography.

Fujifilm Instax Pal 2 Launches In Malaysia At RM899 With A Retro Redesign

After more than a decade away, Sleeping With Sirens are finally returning to Malaysia.
The American post-hardcore and rock band will bring their An Ending In Itself Tour Asia 2027 to Kuala Lumpur on 15 April 2027, performing at Zepp KL.
For fans who grew up with post-hardcore anthems, emotional lyrics and the unmistakable high-pitched vocals of frontman Kellin Quinn, the announcement marks a long-awaited homecoming. Sleeping With Sirens last performed in Malaysia on 17 February 2013, when they played at Chin Woo Stadium in Kuala Lumpur alongside fellow post-hardcore favourites Pierce The Veil.
Now, 14 years later, the band are returning with a new album, a new chapter in their career and plenty of songs that have remained staples among their longtime fans.
Who Are Sleeping With Sirens?

Formed in Orlando, Florida, in 2009, Sleeping With Sirens quickly established themselves as one of the recognisable names in the post-hardcore and alternative rock scene.
The band are particularly known for Kellin Quinn's distinctive vocals, which became one of their defining characteristics as they built a dedicated following throughout the 2010s.
Their discography spans nearly two decades, with the band releasing their debut album With Ears To See And Eyes To Hear in 2010 before following it with albums including Let's Cheers To This, Feel, Madness and Gossip.
<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_UwWYtLWEZg" width="560" height="314" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>
Among their most recognisable songs are &ldquo;If You Can&rsquo;t Hang&rdquo;, &ldquo;Kick Me&rdquo;, &ldquo;If I&rsquo;m James Dean, You&rsquo;re Audrey Hepburn&rdquo;, &ldquo;Apathetic&rdquo; and &ldquo;Roger Rabbit&rdquo;.
For many fans who grew up during the peak of the 2010s emo and post-hardcore scene, these songs became more than just tracks on a playlist. They were part of the soundtrack to their teenage years, with lyrics about heartbreak, relationships, insecurity, resilience and finding your place often resonating with a generation of listeners.
The band's influence has also found a new audience through social media, particularly TikTok, where older post-hardcore and emo songs have experienced renewed interest among younger listeners.
Their 2012 collaboration with Pierce The Veil, &ldquo;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icXUkIfZxyg">King For A Day</a>&rdquo;, has also remained one of the most enduring songs associated with the era. The track brought together Quinn and Pierce The Veil frontman Vic Fuentes and became a defining anthem for fans of the scene.
