AKMU

Kpop Duo

Malaysian K-pop fans have something to look forward to as South Korean sibling duo AKMU is set to perform in Kuala Lumpur on 20 March 2027. The duo will bring their AKMU ASIA TOUR 2027 [AKDONGDEUL] to Zepp Kuala Lumpur as part of a nine-city tour across Asia.
Comprising siblings Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun, AKMU is known for its distinctive musical style, memorable melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Their upcoming Kuala Lumpur concert will give Malaysian fans the opportunity to experience the duo's music live, including some of the songs that have helped establish them as one of South Korea's most recognisable musical acts.

AKMU, also known as Akdong Musician, is a South Korean sibling duo made up of Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun. The pair first gained widespread attention in 2013 after winning the second season of the South Korean singing competition K-pop Star.
Their performances stood out for their original compositions, distinctive vocals and refreshing approach to pop music. Unlike many conventional K-pop acts, AKMU built its identity around self-written songs, acoustic influences and storytelling, with Lee Chan-hyuk primarily responsible for songwriting and production while Lee Su-hyun's vocals provide much of the duo's signature sound.

Following their competition victory, AKMU officially debuted under YG Entertainment in 2014 with the album Play. The release helped introduce their music to a wider audience, with songs such as 200% and Give Love becoming early fan favourites.
The duo continued to grow in popularity with releases that showcased their versatility, moving between upbeat pop, folk-inspired arrangements, ballads and more experimental sounds. One of their best-known songs, How Can I Love the Heartbreak, You're the One I Love, became particularly popular for its emotional delivery and reflective lyrics.
Over the years, AKMU has earned recognition for its songwriting, vocal performances and commercial success, receiving major South Korean music awards and nominations. Their longevity has also been supported by a willingness to explore different musical directions while maintaining the chemistry that makes their sibling partnership distinctive.
With a catalogue spanning cheerful hits and emotionally driven ballads, AKMU has developed a following beyond South Korea, making its upcoming Asian tour a significant opportunity to connect with fans across the region.
