Are you a fan of NFT&rsquo;s?
Well, if you are someone in the United States, you would have been in luck as US cinema operator AMC and Sony Pictures have announced that they&rsquo;ll be giving away 86,000 NFTs to those pre-ordering tickets for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

This this the 3rd movie in the Spiderman series starting the internet&rsquo;s favourite couple Tom Holland and Zendaya. At the moment, the companies say that there will be 100 NFT designs available, and all will be handed out to ticket buyers at random. But they have not revealed how they will look like as of now.
AMC says that a code will be issued for the NFTs and will be redeemable via a special website as it will be distributed via Wax blockchain. The codes will be given out on 22 December, but advance ticket buyers will have to wait till 1 March 2022 to claim the NFT. Another catch is that tis giveaway is exclusive to AMC&rsquo;s Stubs Premiere, A-List and Investor Connect members which are only available to US citizens. Awwwh, it isn&rsquo;t available to non-US citizens. What&rsquo;s the point of that?

One thing to note is the promotion seems to be paying off as CNet reported that moviegoers had stormed to purchase tickets and it had resulted in several booking sites such as AMC&rsquo;s own, ATOM, Fandango, CineMark and Harkins to experience connectivity issues or downtime. There&rsquo;s no confirmation if it the downtime was due to the free NFT or just because it was coincidental.

Spider-man: No Way Home is not the first movie to feature NFTs from the Disney-owned comic book giants.

Previously, Marvel released a variety of Captain America digital statues as well as a digital version of the first issue of The Amazing Spider-Man comic book with different cover styles in collaboration with digital collectibles app VeVe.

Even DC released their own <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2021/10/2/22705818/dc-free-superhero-nfts-register-fandome-event">NFTs</a> in celebration of this year&rsquo;s FanDome event.
Now that&rsquo;s one way of promoting a movie huh? For those interested to watch, you better get them tickets cause it&rsquo;s selling hot as if it&rsquo;s concert tickets!
Spider-Man: No Way Home premiers in Malaysia on 16 December 2021, which is a day earlier before the US. If only we could get some of those NFTs right? Oh well.
