Everyone knows that Apple is a staple when it comes to brand identity out there. In fact, almost everyone wants an Apple product whether it being their iPhones, iPads or even the Macbook's.
But we all know one thing, to buy an Apple product, it could cost you an arm and a kidney. OK not really but it&rsquo;s really expensive and we undoubtedly know that.

Apple is now getting their hands into a financial service sector which allows customers to buy now and pay later (BNPL) scheme which is called Pay Later as an extension of Apple Pay (which is only available in the US for now).
The new feature will be rolling out with the upcoming iOS 16 this fall which will enable customers to make big purchases with instalments.

BNPL will allow users to split any purchases into four equal payments over the span of six weeks. The only condition is that customers are required to pay a quarter of the full amount upfront while the rest of the payments is made done every two weeks. For those who have Apple pay, the amount will be deducted out of the Wallet app either online or in-app using the Mastercard network.

The best part of it is that those taking the instalment plans from Apple will have a zero-interest rate. This makes the deal more attractive to those who can&rsquo;t pay the one lump sum.
The more unforgiving end of this instalment plan is that it&rsquo;s the risk of the youth or younger audience who&rsquo;s at least 73% of their customers to miss payments (cause you know some of them don&rsquo;t manage their money properly). It was reported that at least 43% of the Gen Z consumers are likely to miss one payment which leads them to an overdraft fee.
As of now the exact mechanism for the BNPL loans has not been announced but Apple says they would decision will be made by their treasury department. As for some of Apple&rsquo;s financial ventures is still handled by Goldman Sachs who oversees the Apple Card credit card, a new subsidiary called Apple Financing LLC will later be handling Apple Pay.
Will banks be involved when needing to approve of credit loans?

According to Apple, through this new subsidiary, they will be handling all the decisions and loans without a partner bank for its BNPL feature. As Apple Financing does not have a bank charter, Goldman Sachs and Mastercard will still be involved in the Pay Later scheme as they are qualified to issue the payment credentials.
Now the real question is if this scheme will be coming in Malaysia as Apple Pay is not available yet.

<li>Blacklist Status:</li>

<li>Neither the applicant, nor their parents, should be blacklisted by the Public Service Department (JPA) or involved in any ongoing legal action against JPA.</li>

<li>Sponsorship Status:</li>

<li>Applicants who are successfully offered this sponsorship must not be in receipt of any other financial aid or scholarships for studies at the same academic level.</li>

A Malaysian woman&rsquo;s routine day turned into a nightmare when she discovered that a vital component of her car had been stolen &mdash; despite parking it in a paid, supposedly secure facility. The incident, which occurred on 22 April at the Awan Besar LRT station, has since sparked wider concerns over vehicle security at public transport parking lots in Kuala Lumpur.
The woman had parked her Toyota at approximately 7am before proceeding to work as usual. Upon returning to retrieve her car around 7pm, she was met with an unexpected mechanical issue. As she turned the ignition key, she was startled by a loud "boom" sound emanating from beneath her vehicle. Alarmed and fearing that the engine had suffered serious damage, she quickly shut off the engine and tried again, only to encounter the same noise.
Investigation Reveals Catalytic Converter Theft

It was soon confirmed that the car's catalytic converter &mdash; a key component responsible for filtering harmful emissions &mdash; had been forcibly removed.
Without this essential part, her car was rendered immobile, compounding her distress as she faced the challenge of arranging immediate repairs while stranded at the station.
The discovery came as a devastating blow, particularly as she had assumed that a paid parking area operated by a major transport company would offer basic security measures against theft.
High-Value Target for Thieves

Containing precious metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium, catalytic converters can fetch high prices, making them an attractive target for criminals. Removal can be executed swiftly with basic tools, and in less than ten minutes, a thief can escape with a component worth thousands.
&ldquo;The foreman told me a brand-new catalytic converter could cost over RM4,000," the woman said in her post. &ldquo;Now, I&rsquo;m forced to fork out even more money just to get my car running again.&rdquo;
Financial and Emotional Impact

&ldquo;I worked so hard to save every bit of money, only for it to be spent like this," she lamented, adding that the incident had severely disrupted her plans and peace of mind.
The emotional toll was compounded by a growing anxiety about the safety of her vehicle &mdash; and indeed, of any vehicle &mdash; left unattended in public parking areas, regardless of whether parking fees are paid.
Disillusionment with Paid Parking Facilities

In addition, she contacted RapidKL, the operator responsible for the Awan Besar LRT parking facilities, to report the matter and inquire about security measures. At the time of her post, she stated that she had not yet received any formal response or assistance from the company.

In the wake of the incident, many are calling for better security infrastructure at public parking areas, especially those operated alongside critical transport services. Suggestions have included installing more CCTV cameras with active monitoring, increasing security patrols, and ensuring rapid response capabilities when suspicious activities are detected.
Some have even suggested that parking operators offer insurance options or guarantees as part of their service, to provide recourse for customers who fall victim to theft within their premises.
For now, however, many commuters are left to fend for themselves &mdash; relying on personal vigilance and aftermarket security solutions in the hopes of avoiding similar losses.

M’sian Woman Left Disillusioned After Catalytic Converter Stolen From Her Car At LRT Station Parking Lot

The Kuala Lumpur&ndash;Karak Highway, a crucial artery connecting the capital to the eastern states, has long been a favourite weekend playground for motor enthusiasts. Its sweeping bends and picturesque mountain views attract convoys of high-powered motorcycles and spirited motorists seeking the thrill of open-road riding.
Yet, despite its appeal, authorities have continually reminded the public that such stretches are not substitutes for a racetrack. Public roads carry unpredictable risks &mdash; from potholes and loose gravel to sudden weather changes &mdash; making reckless behaviour a dangerous gamble.
Last Sunday (27 April), a series of crashes involving high-powered motorcycles at KM43.4 of the eastbound highway near Bentong served as a stark reminder of these dangers.
Dramatic Crash Captured on Camera

A chilling video of the incident, recorded on a helmet-mounted camera, swiftly went viral across social media platforms, sparking concern among road users and safety advocates alike.
In the footage, the camera wearer can be seen approaching a sharp bend when a motorcyclist ahead leans heavily into the corner. Midway through the turn, the rider&rsquo;s bike suddenly loses grip and lowsides, sending both man and machine sliding across the asphalt and into the grass verge.
As the cameraman pulls over in the emergency lane to offer assistance, a second rider, perhaps caught out by the same road conditions or distracted by the incident, suffers a similar fate. His motorcycle slides violently across the road towards the stationary rider, narrowly avoiding a direct collision.
Mere seconds later, a third motorcyclist skids into view, his bike scraping along the tarmac and throwing up sparks before slamming into the roadside barrier. The rider himself is seen tumbling along the ground before coming to rest near the crash site.

One Rider Injured, Two Others Missing

Following the crash, one of the riders was able to be located by authorities and was found to have sustained injuries to his right leg. According to Bentong District Police Chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar, the injured rider is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
However, attempts to contact the other two riders involved have so far been unsuccessful. The Bentong District Police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division is actively working to track them down for their statements.
Superintendent Zaiham confirmed that initial investigations suggest all three motorcycles lost control while attempting to navigate the bend, resulting in them skidding and crashing into the drain located on the left shoulder of the highway.
Investigation Underway

The case is currently being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving. If found guilty, the individuals involved could face a fine of up to RM10,000 and/or imprisonment for up to 12 months.
Authorities are also appealing for witnesses who may have been present during the accident to come forward and assist with the investigation, emphasising the importance of public cooperation in ensuring the case is handled swiftly and thoroughly.

Sunday&rsquo;s accident highlights a concerning trend among certain groups of motorists and bikers who treat public highways as venues for high-speed thrills.
Unlike a closed track, highways present countless variables &mdash; other vehicles, changing surface conditions, debris, and sudden obstacles &mdash; that make high-speed riding exponentially more dangerous. Even experienced riders are not immune to the unexpected, as seen in the viral video where consecutive accidents occurred within mere seconds of each other.
