Ice cream is well known to be one of the best comfort foods out there as well as one of the best things to have to cool yourself off on a hot day.
But the only down side is if you have an ice cream that&rsquo;s on a popsicle or a cone, we all know the kind of mess it could make since it can melt easily.

Meanwhile in China, a luxury ice cream brand is now the talk of media after revelations that its products do not melt in hot temperatures or when exposed to fire. This had prompted many to question what is in the product.

A viral clip showed a netizen using a lighter to burn part of it showed that the ice-cream did not melt. Soon after the ice cream had contact with the fire, it began smoking and the scent of burnt food could be smelled.

The brand in question is called &ldquo;Zhong Xue Gao&rdquo; and ever since the initial video, many others had also claimed that the brands coconut flavour ice cream did not melt although it was exposed to temperatures of 31 degrees for more than 50 minutes. Instead of turning into liquid, the viral video with 500 million views on Weibo showed that the ice cream stayed in a sticky state rather than melting.

The ice cream had been dubbed as the &ldquo;Hermes of ice cream&rdquo; as its popular in many major cities across the mainland. It&rsquo;s also considered pretty expensive as it costs 20 yuan (~RM13.20) for just an ice cream bar. But this is just the normal ice creams, if you were to buy their more premier-edition ice creams, it will cost 70 yuan (~RM46.20) or even higher.

According to a local regulator in the Shanghai Market Supervision Management Bureau, the had been made aware of the videos and are currently investigating the reason why the ice cream does not melt and why smoke appears when being exposed to fire.
&ldquo;The test results from professional testing institutions should be more authoritative. To our naked eyes, the ice cream did not melt. But this conclusion would be better supported by scientific data,&rdquo; said the official.
Is the ice cream compliant with national standards?

The brand released a statement stating that all of their products is within quality standards set by China&rsquo;s national authority.
They even revealed the ingredients which consist of mainly made of milk (35.8 percent), light cream (19.2 percent), coconut milk (11.2 percent), sweetened condensed milk (7.4 percent) and whole milk powder (6 percent). But one thing to note is that the ice cream contains more than 40% solid matter which is 20% higher than the national standard.
It was also revealed that the product has 0.032 grams of carrageenan which is a natural extract of red algae and its widely used in ice cream and beverage products to help stabilize milk proteins in it. Although common in products, some evidence say that the use of this can cause severe health problems as well as cancer but it&rsquo;s still up for debate as the information only comes from studies on animals and cells only.
Not the first time the brand is in hot water
Back in summer of 2021, the brand had faced backlash from the public as they had hiked up the price for majority of their ice creams as it now became increasingly difficult to find ice creams sold at below 10 yuan (~RM6.60)
We are not the only ones in the world suffering from rising cost for goods as the price hike of ice cream in China was due to the increase of higher production and distribution cost.
I mean don&rsquo;t get me wrong, ice cream that does not melt does sound pretty great but it&rsquo;s kinda weird to see it not melt at all. Now I question the food products that come straight from China if it can be dangerous in the long run.

Datin Vivy Sofinas Yusof and her husband, Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar &mdash; co-founders of the once-celebrated fashion and e-commerce brands FashionValet and dUCk &mdash; are set to stand trial in 2026 for allegedly misappropriating RM8 million in investment funds. The funds, entrusted to their company by two government-linked investment giants &mdash; Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) &mdash; were meant to support and develop local entrepreneurship.
Instead, the high-profile couple is accused of transferring the RM8 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd into a separate entity they also owned &mdash; 30 Maple Sdn Bhd &mdash; without obtaining approval from FashionValet&rsquo;s board of directors. The alleged financial misconduct is said to have taken place on 21 August 2018 at Public Bank&rsquo;s Bukit Damansara branch in Kuala Lumpur.
Trial Dates Set for 2026

After months of legal developments, the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court has now fixed 15 days for the full trial next year. Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad confirmed the following dates:

The next case mention is scheduled for 27 October 2025, allowing the defence team more time to examine forensic reports and prepare their arguments. According to Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin, the prosecution intends to call 26 witnesses to testify over the course of the trial.
Vivy and Fadzarudin, both aged 37, were not present during the recent case management hearing on 23 June 2025, as their legal counsel had secured an exemption from court attendance. The couple continues to be represented by lawyer M. Athimulan.
Pleading Not Guilty to CBT and Alternative Charge

Additionally, the couple faces an alternative charge under Section 403, also read with Section 34, for dishonestly misappropriating property belonging to the company. This charge carries a lighter penalty &mdash; a prison term ranging from six months to five years, and may also include caning and a fine upon conviction.
Both Vivy and Fadzarudin have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Controversy Surrounding Internal Acquisition

Critics argue that the founders effectively channelled public investment funds back into their personal company, raising ethical concerns over whether such internal transactions should have received greater scrutiny, especially given the involvement of taxpayer-linked capital.

Rather than relying on traditional tiered or block-based pricing, the new structure breaks down your bill into five main components:
