Remember the days when we see the Milo truck at events such as school sports days and many of us rush over to get it? Arguably, the Milo that&rsquo;s distributed from the truck is hands down some of the best tasting Milo we can get aside from the usual mamak fix.

But there&rsquo;s one question that many Malaysians debate on and that is how does one pronounce the brand &ldquo;Milo&rdquo;? Is it &ldquo;Mai-lo&rdquo; or &ldquo;Mee-lo&rdquo;?

According to Ng Su Yen, the correct pronunciation for Milo is actually &ldquo;Mai-lo&rdquo;!
My life is a lie&hellip; I have been saying &ldquo;Mee-lo&rdquo; my whole life.
A little background to the name, our favourite Malaysian drink was named after Milo of Croton who is a mighty Greek wrestler who posed legendary strength during the 6th Century. Hence why the brand promotes that the drink will provide all children with the nutrients and vitamins they need to become stronger.

At the time, Milo was dubbed as one of if not the strongest Greek who ever lived due to his incredible strength and athleticism. How he got his strength was him deciding to lift a new born calf on his shoulders and continued doing the same strategy every day for the next four years.
Netizens shocked and refused to accept the pronunciation 
To no surprise, many netizens had voiced out their thoughts after learning the real pronunciation and refused to accept it. Growing up, many netizens said that they have been calling the drink &ldquo;Mee-lo&rdquo; and it seems like they will be sticking to that pronunciation regardless.

For context, since Milo is actually a drink that originated from Australia, the pronunciation of the drink is in fact pronounced as &ldquo;My-lo&rdquo; which is similar to the Malaysian way of saying &ldquo;Mai-lo&rdquo;. But regardless of the pronunciation, many of us will continue enjoying the drink!
Now that the debate has been settled, or at least we think it is, I&rsquo;m gonna go make myself a Milo.

What was meant to be a joyous getaway turned into a harrowing experience when several individuals fell violently ill after indulging in a lok lok feast at Genting Sempah, Pahang. The aftermath saw multiple guests suffering from severe food poisoning, with some requiring hospitalisation, leaving the group frustrated and deeply concerned.

She and a group of 36 friends had rented villas for a three-day, two-night retreat near the Pahang-Selangor border. During their stay, they noticed a well-known lok lok (skewered food) truck serving guests at a neighbouring villa. Intrigued by the sight, they decided to book the same service for their celebration the following evening, paying RM2,000 for a meal meant for 40 people.
From Feast to Food Poisoning in Hours

The meal commenced at 6 PM on 1st February, and the group eagerly tucked in, expecting a delightful dining experience. However, just four hours later, disaster struck. More than ten people in the group began suffering from extreme vomiting and diarrhoea&mdash;undeniable signs of food poisoning. As the night progressed, the severity of the symptoms escalated, and by morning, two members had to be rushed to the hospital for intravenous drips, while others sought treatment at nearby clinics.
The repercussions of the incident went beyond health issues. Several group members were forced to take sick leave from work, while children attending international schools had to miss classes. The financial burden from medical expenses, combined with lost productivity, only added to their distress.
A Struggle for Accountability

Determined to seek justice, Joey contacted the food truck company, requesting a full refund of RM2,000 and additional reimbursement of RM3,375 for medical expenses incurred by the group. However, her efforts were met with denial and deflection. The company refused to take responsibility, instead shifting the blame onto the driver, claiming that he had accepted the booking independently without official company authorisation.
Joey was not convinced by this explanation. She had personally witnessed the driver calling the company to confirm the booking before proceeding. Adding to her suspicions, she pointed out that the food truck that arrived for their event was different from the one they had initially seen at the neighbouring villa.
In a further attempt to absolve itself, the company suggested that the food poisoning might have resulted from something the group had consumed earlier in the day.
