Rumour had it that the couple encountered an unexpected twist in their dining experience when they suspected the use of Hua Tiao Chew Rice Wine sauce, a non-halal ingredient, in their meal.
This juicy story spread like wildfire on social media, sparking discussions and raising eyebrows all over the digital realm. It even grabbed the attention of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), which felt compelled to issue a statement, reminding Malaysians to be cautious about what they eat.

Prior to the controversy Aman&rsquo;s Food Stall which is located at Restaurant Ahmad Muzakin in Sri Petaling has been very well known for their pork-free rice dish which is either topped with marinated chicken or even salted fish. On normal days the queue at the restaurant can get pretty long and back in August, Malay Mail had given a <a href="https://www.malaymail.com/news/eat-drink/2023/08/04/its-all-about-heat-and-salted-fish-with-this-claypot-chicken-rice-served-at-sri-petalings-amans-food-stall/83439">very positive review</a> for the dish.
Owner Speaks Out On The Alleged Use Of Non-Halal Ingredients

Ahmad Muzakin, aged 48, vehemently refuted all allegations of using non-halal ingredients in his dishes, swearing by Allah SWT that he is innocent of these claims.
"I solemnly swear by Allah SWT that I have never used non-halal ingredients, as alleged by some netizens. This is a matter of my integrity, and as a devout Muslim, I take my responsibility to provide for my family seriously," he stated in a report by Harian Matro.
Regarding the ingredients in his claypot chicken rice, he clarified that the sauce in question was actually sesame oil, a common ingredient in Chinese cuisine, and not rice wine as some had mistakenly assumed. However, he did acknowledge that the oil producer lacks a halal certification from religious authorities.
Muzakin also admitted that his stall doesn't possess a halal certification from JAKIM. Nonetheless, he argued that many Muslim-owned businesses nowadays also operate without such certification, and he emphasized that this issue has not been a significant concern for him.

&ldquo;I don&rsquo;t consider it as a big issue as I am Muslim and know my responsibility, and I will not even hide used materials. The two bottles are sesame oil and if I use two bottles directly, I will get double drops without pouring it many times. I admit the factory of the sesame oil does not have a halal certificate but the ingredients are believed to be nothing prohibited.&rdquo;
Muzakin also took a moment to address the criticisms from some netizens who accused him of tampering with the sesame oil bottles. He clarified that he had simply punctured a hole in the top of the bottle's seal, all while ensuring the plastic seal remained intact. This precaution, he explained, made it impossible for him to introduce any non-halal ingredients. Additionally, he assured that his chicken supply comes from a halal source.
Taking The Allegations As A Challenge In Life

To ensure the integrity of his business, Muzakin shared his intention to pursue a halal certification from JAKIM. He also revealed plans to attend a relevant course scheduled for this Thursday. He had sensed the possibility of someone attempting to slander his business as it gained recognition among the public.
Muzakin expressed deep gratitude to his wife, Rotiya Ropia, for her unwavering support. Despite discussions regarding his wife's Surabaya, Indonesia origins, he proudly affirmed their Malaysian citizenship. They held no fear or hesitation in acknowledging their Indonesian heritage. He emphasized that even if he were to lose customers, he wouldn't be afraid or disheartened, as they believed their sustenance was granted by Allah SWT.
As the saying goes, when someone achieves success, there are inevitably individuals who become envious and are willing to go to great lengths to tarnish their reputation.

One standout project was a visual aid device for the visually impaired, developed by a team of teachers with no prior coding experience. Using image recognition and motion sensors, they prototyped a tool that could guide visually impaired students through school corridors &mdash; a powerful reminder of how innovation can arise when empathy and technology intersect.

In response to these challenges, the Ministry of Health has moved forward with legislative reforms designed to bolster Malaysia&rsquo;s specialist workforce and ensure fairer access to advanced medical care.
Effective from 1 July, the Medical (Amendment) Regulations 2025 and the Medical Act (Amendment) 2024 have come into force. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad described the changes as a major step towards creating a more transparent, inclusive, and competency-based system for medical specialists.
Key features of the amendments include:

Maniishapriet, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student originally from Kuching, Sarawak, was staying alone in the unit at Mutiara Ville after her housemates had left for the semester break. She had remained behind to prepare for an upcoming examination. Her body was discovered around 10am by a concerned friend, who immediately contacted police. She was found unconscious with clear head injuries, and a post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the head.
Access Through Trust: Girlfriend Gave Suspect Entry

"The main suspect had stayed at the unit before. On the night of the incident, he was given the card and keys again, while his girlfriend had already gone home. He stayed overnight and unfortunately harboured ill intentions toward the victim," said Commissioner Hussein.
Investigators believe that the suspect, now remanded, assaulted Maniishapriet using a blunt object, striking her fatally. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, indicating that the suspect&rsquo;s presence there appeared authorised at the time.
While police do not currently believe the crime was premeditated, they are probing whether the housemate had any knowledge of her boyfriend&rsquo;s potential motives or behaviour. &ldquo;We are still investigating whether she was aware of what he intended to do,&rdquo; added Hussein.
Theft, Rumours of Rape, and a Fifth Individual

After allegedly killing Maniishapriet, the suspect is believed to have taken several of her personal belongings, including her laptop, mobile phone, ATM card, and cash. Authorities also revealed the involvement of a fifth person&mdash;someone who allegedly received the victim&rsquo;s belongings from the main suspect after the murder. This individual is currently detained in relation to another separate case, but police are in the process of recording a formal statement from him. At present, he is not believed to have played a role in the murder itself.
In the days following the murder, speculation on social media raised the possibility of sexual assault. However, Commissioner Hussein addressed the rumours directly, stating that the post-mortem found no evidence of rape. &ldquo;Based on the pathology report, there are no signs of sexual assault. However, we are not ruling out anything and further investigations are ongoing to confirm or disprove any such claims,&rdquo; he said.
Arrests, CCTV Evidence and the Path Toward Prosecution

The remand orders for all suspects have been extended beyond the initial 3 July deadline as investigations intensify. Police are also analysing CCTV footage from surrounding areas in Cyberjaya to reconstruct the timeline of events. The apartment unit itself did not have internal surveillance, but officers are confident that external footage will help support the case.
Commissioner Hussein confirmed that police are working to complete the investigation papers, which will soon be forwarded to the Deputy Public Prosecutor. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.

Recently, ZUS Coffee officially launched its brand-new &ldquo;ZUS Tea Series&rdquo;, diversifying its previously coffee-dominated menu to tap into Malaysia&rsquo;s booming milk tea craze. The new range features three flavours &ndash; Dark Oolong Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and White Peach Oolong Milk Tea &ndash; each available hot or iced.
